  • Maravilhoso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Glee is a load of shit compared to fame

  • R.I.P. Leroy

  • Loved fame on tv not new one Irene Cara best

  • The 80s was one of the best decades to be born, it was raw, gritty & free. I feel privileged to have come from such a time #80sbabiallday

  • excellent

  • @wanaquian Well I could have sworn there were fines even though the street was closed but I guess not. They had me fooled lol. Thanks.

  • @wanaquian Really? I was sure that NYC fined them or at least tried to fine them because even though the street was shutdown, the actual level of craziness that ensued was not disclosed to the city and the city wasn't expecting it to get that out of control.

  • I"d be so pissed if someone was dancing on the hood of my car.

  • I had such a crush on Bruno. *THUDS*

  • I feel dirty just watching this clip

  • always caps must shit !

  • I so loved the fame movie and the series

  • I could imagin that happening in new york city lol, though the trouble you would get into today, i guess they started showing the old series on ovation yesterday mar 21, 2010

  • Love the movie and Tv show.Best dance music.

  • I love the original myself yet I'm not an 80s baby :( I knew when they did new one I would never watch it in the cinemas so i waited till it came on Sky, I was totally right that it never compared to the original plus i love Irene Cara's "fame" :)

  • @insertyourquarters this movie and those times are gonna LIVE FOREVER !!!!!

  • Flashmob of the 80's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think thease "remakes" of thease movies is a slap in the face to the originals

  • Nice

  • merveilleux un regal que du plaisir rare sont les films qui donnent autant de fourmies dans les jambes pour moi FAME ces une ref

  • @snuggle1345 this is the ONE and ONLY true FAME film

  • @snuggle1345. You think that because you didn't grow up in the 80's.

  • This is it!

  • A wonderful piece of my childhood. This film was awesome. The 80s rocked.

  • Facebook | 地球の楽曲 ♫

  • please someone can tell me the name of this episode... i tried to find it out around the web but no results.. Thanks mates

  • @consecutio It was from the original Film, not an episode of the television series.

  • The 80's fuckin RULED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCK ALL THESE REMAKES. HOLLYWOOD IS OUT OF IDEAS. CONSTANTLY DESTROYING CLASSICS.

  • YES! this is the one i've been looking for, the new one is just plain crap

  • cool

  • When Irene Cara comes out on the stoop and says, " God, that's me!", and the look of surprise/joy/happiness because people seem to like it, that is genuine.

Unlike the new movie. Waste of time.

  • Also, the original characters/actors were all unknowns at the time(unlike the new one Frasier and Lilith Crane, plus the loudmouth from Will & Grace), and people used from the school as well, so it felt "real/gritty", and you gave a damn about the people in it. Not like the new one. Cardboard cutout/stereotypes. Plus, anyone who uses a tone machine in a song is nothing but a Karaoke singer IMHO.

  • Also, this FAME(1980) showed NYC as it really was at the time. A dump. Remember, NYC in the 1970's went broke, and all those broken down buildings were all over the place and NYC was a scary place to alot of people at the time.

  • @brounbuck In a weird way this old new york looks more interesting than the one in 'Sex and the City' and 'Friends' and such... :)

  • i really like the old movie

and i don´t like the new film that much

  • Haha sounds like the stories I hear about Ozzy recording Diary of a Madman.

  • I LOVE THAT MOVIE!! Reminds me my youth! Thanks!

  • Great movie.

  • imbecils like you will never understand the true quality of this clip and also of the music who borned the DISCO if you dont like it keep youre comments for yourself!!!!!!!!

  • its not just the music, its the story. how many fathers or parents for that matter would go this extra mile? this dad is WORTH bailing out of jail:) it's why this scene rocks!

  • @DarkOneKmikaze shut it, the real disoc scene was incredible and depraved, this is pussy shit

  • this is one of the first movies that shown all people how good yet crazy disco made teenagers and how hard it is to be in a disco school, do you know how hard was to make a movie such as this????NOO because this generation FORGOT, you didnt know how good it is to hear for the FIRST TIME the disco music, you could dance everywere. This scene was made exactly for this but people like you DONT understand!!

  • @DarkOneKmikaze NO IT ISN"T. THE DISCO SCENE WAS MASSIVE BEFORE THIS FILM, ALSO A LOT OF THE TRUE SCENE WAS ABOUT TONS OF DIRTY SEX AND SEXY DANCING. THIS WALLOPING PILE OF WATERED DOWN JUNK IS NOT A PERCEPTIVE SOCIAL COMMENTARY. IT DIDN"T MAKE TEENAGERS! IT WASN"T GROUNDBREAKING. WHEN I WAS A KID THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST ALBUMS I BOUGHT. I WAS A DUMB LITTLE KID. IT WASN'T HARD TO MAKE THE MOVIE COS IT EARNED THE COMPANY A TON OF BUCKS, its no more groundbreaking than the fucking fonze

  • LOL 2:30 that guy near the cab fell over. XD

  • This must be one of the best songs of all time. Stand up and you will se that it´s impossible to stand still.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG (L)

  • I love the musicals from the 80'S!!

    they all rock!

  • Si si mucha felicidad! Pero por mas happy q esté la gente si se suben asi a mi carro los bajo a putazos!!

  • This original is the best!

  • hell yeah!!

  • The reason the remake is crap is it does not have the rawness of the original - the kids all look like privileged twits in the new one.

  • @LilNYMama the new one was HORRIBLE, i hate how the keep taking good 80's shows and movies and remaking them into total garbage

  • ça parait surréaliste, j'imagine ça à Paris, c'est tellement bon...

  • che bellissime emozioni rivedere e risentire questa canzone..........FAME FAME FAME FAME

  • Classic what is so funny is that this scene was shot in 1979 and they were actually dancing to Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" as the original soundtrack was dubbed over. If you want to look at the original street go to Google Earth and go to 120 West 46th Street pan around and you will see the a church across the street from the original PA school the church should be on the right side. Once you see the church than your looking at the same scene streetscape from the movie.

  • i love this song, video.. :D

  • Ahh the memories. I used to run home from school to watch the t.v series. I used to drive my mum mad by sliding down the banister singing Fame!!. The new film is OK but it has nothing on the original so I was dissapointed

  • Love this track! The late great Luther Vandross is the male vocalist in the background yelling, "Fame"!

  • I love the original fame film. the real New York setting.

  • Did u already hear the new version?

  • I did see the new version: If you don't know the original movie or the series, then the new movies is actually quite good. However, for someone like me who saw the original movie, and watched the television series, it was a serious disappointment. The story line (and characters) were not true to the original story line, only 1 of the original songs made it in the movie (and no, it was not "Fame"... although that song is played during the closing credits).

  • Well, what I ment is that I do like the new version of the SONG, I didnt have the idea to go and watch the movie because it is always a big disappointment to watch the new version of any I mean ANY orininal movie, the last time I did that I wanted to leave the room but I was with more people so I had to stay.

  • not many dads would believe in their kid that much:) GREAT SCENE!!:)

  • i saw the play two days ago, it was pretty good. (: now, i can't stop singing this song!

  • Deceive, inveigle, obfuscate.

I wasn't expecting to see x-phile esoterica in a Fame video. It made my day.

  • This song is amazing

  • i dont think the new one is going to be any good compared to this one i acutally only saw this one recently it was amazing

  • Remakes are usually never as good as the original take Miami Vice for example, when you compare the movie remake to the original show the movie feels and looks like rotten wood!

  • remember remember Remember Remember REMEMBER REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hope someone posts this movie:)

  • i love this my dad said he wach thins when he was a lil boy

  • Yea, I did too. Thinking back it feels like it was such a good time and we had no problems. But I guess at the time we did lol

  • Great!

  • scenes in the whole Tv Series is the best

  • siempre veia esta serie y queria ser bailarina talento tenia pero no se pudo aun me queda algo de lo que sabia en esa epoca

  • One of the most iconic scenes of any film from the 80s -- or any decade.

  • The new one's coming out on my birthday! honestly, it is! it's probably gonna suck, they can't remake a movie as AWESOME and MARVY as this!!!

  • This scene gives me goose bumps. Pure unadulterated rebellion and chaos, gotta love it. Best scene of the movie and one of the best movie scenes in the history of film.

  • does anyone know where i can watch the full film of fame cuz i REALLY REALLY wanna watch it!!!

  • this is one of the best scenes in the whole movie

  • I'm doing the musical fame at school and im bruno

  • There is no Bruno in the musical. Bruno is only in the film, they are seperate.

  • Bruno is just in the Tv Series and Movie.

  • oh Bruno....is that name even used anymore for humans? : )

  • LOL!!!! Pissed rabbi!!! 1:13

  • fame lovers just so you know their remaking the movie fame with new actors and its coming out in theaters 2010.

  • Actually, it's coming out this September.

  • LnL13 is right and it's probably going to be s**t

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I was looking for this scene last week, but didn't find it. I guess it's good to have tags.

    Gotta dance!

  • The resulting street jame is like the curse of the gay tarantella

  • Bruno: "Have you lost your MIND? Those tapes aren't ready!"

Dad: "Look at the people! They don't know that!" :D

    lol, classic! :D

  • Thank you for capturing the escsnce of the scene

  • the movie is the best

  • I loved martellis father. Who would have thought a new york cabbie would be so pleased to have an artistic son.

  • I thought that was too kewl! :)

  • FAME!

  • We're doing this musical for our spring play...Its so inspiring!

  • Ahh, the innocence, if only those poor fools had known what they were in for...

  • HenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenkHenk and doubleyou

  • lololol omg ya'll are so crazy lol

  • i dense better than all those losers

  • I wonder how many takes they did. Its probably hard to act like a maniac twice in a row

  • Not if you live with maniacs, for some reason you end up becoming a maniac when you live with them : )

  • the bestt

  • Thank u for posting this video. This movie was the reason I selected Creative and Performing Arts H.S in Phila to attend. I went there from 1981 to 1985. The first two years were just like the movie. But the times were innocent and fun. Looking at this movie takes me back to those days. What fun we all had before the AIDS epidemic and the crack epidemic! Those were the days!!

  • 2:29 .... black girl (bottom right corner)... FUNNY SHIT!!!

  • this song was sang by irene cara

  • I thought that was a good song!!!

  • I don't think the 80's were worst than any other decade. I have fond memories from the 80's, but then again I was just a little kid during that decade.

  • Kon dit maar in real life....

  • COOL.

  • ola tio que tal bueno aqui te dejo unos puntos espero que te pases por la mia y me votes saludos

  • You have got to be kidding me. This "movie" that everyone likes was supposed to be a TV series. Not a movie. Christopher Gore, or whoever was the writer of this, was a thief. This "Fame movie" was stolen as a manuscript from Barry Robins and all that was changed were the names of the characters. It was an unbelievable situation for Barry, so Ruth Webb and he were trying to sue the people doing the movie. I can't believe that those scums got away with it.

  • I read in a play program that Barry had written a screenplay based on the NYHSPA, his Alma Mater in a souvenir program for the play "Camelot". I wondered if there was something to that! Where did you get your info? I would like to see that and what the results of the lawsuit were. Obviously, nothing came of it, or maybe I just hadn't noticed it. If what you say is true, then it's a damn dirty shame on Gore's part, but if Barry didn't copywrite it, then there was nothing he could do to prove it.

  • spelt! ny grandis, ny grandis xD lol, rly nice song :D why people dont start to boogie if you play 50 cent songs, because 50cents songs arent boogie songs! and.. they suck.. xD

  • Why don't people start to boogie if you play 50 cent songs?

  • Cause they're not that good

  • im doing this song in chorus for our musical revue!
