  • Good to read you run this with a single 5850 and an E8500 at stock speed. I have a similar system with a 5850@5870 speeds and an E6550@3.15 GHz. I will get the monitors (3*Dell U2311H Rev. A01) hopefully on wednsday. Guess I'll shut the shadows down so I can run 60 FPS vSynced. :)

    best regards

    Marco Linke from iRacing :)

  • Hi Todd. This is a fantastic setup. This video has inspired me to have this kind of setup. I have an E8600 clocked @ 4.0ghz and have just purchased an XFX 5870 XXX edition. I will be running 3 x 24" Dell Monitors @ 5760x1200. Do you think this will stand me well to have all the eye candy turned on and achieve good frame rates on iracing. Thanks, Rick.

  • i like your work man i just bought the silver crown and i love it

  • How can you stand to drive with your FOV so low? mine has to be 85 plus or I feel like a snail!

  • What angle are your screens at with respect to each other? It's very hard to tell how "horizontal" or not they are.

  • great commentary.

  • Hi Todd, great set up and driving. I am getting set up with a similar system but am having a problem. ATI 5879 card with Eyefinity and 3 Dell monitors. I got the 3 monitors to operate together on the desktop but I can't get them to work in iRacing. When I go to the driving area each screen is duplicated instead of being spread across the 3 screens. I selected 3 screen, put size, bezel, etc. I get 3 of the same screen, each having a separated left, middle and right image. Any ideas?

  • Todd, so I don't waste your time. I figired it out. I did not have the resolution set to the highest setting. Looks like I have three integrated screens now. I am sure I may have some other questions for you some time. I look forward to getting started. Maybe I will see come across you in the iRacing world.

    Thanks,

    Rich

  • Thanks... You need to set the resolution in iRacing (in the drop-down list) to 5760 x 1080 x 32 and be sure the "render each screen separately" box is checked.

  • Great video Todd.

    Awesome graphics

    Very Realistic

  • My most sincere congratulations for this. This is one of the most amazing triple screen footage I've seen. Much respect for what you have here.

Can I ask you 3 questions:

    1. What is your graphics card(s) configuration?

    2. Which screens do you have?

    3. I'm in the market trying to purchase a machine to be able to sim race like that. Any special recommendations for hardware?

Thank you and keep up the good work.

  • Thanks, and certainly!

    1. Single ATI Radeon HD 5850

    2. Three Dell P2310H, center connected via DisplayPort cable, sides connected via DVI

    3. I'd go i7 and don't buy an nVidia chipset mobo if you plan to run ATI GPU(s).

  • No question it's helpful to avoid wrecks and see the next apex better.

  • How many FPS are you getting with this setup?

  • At least 55fps worst-case (tin-top at Road America) with first-level shadows on. I have an E8500 at stock clocks so I'm probably CPU-bottlenecked.

  • Looks awesome
