the one thing to say about the cage is that its mma's where as the ring is boxing's. but the cage gives the more boring style of fighting of laynpray and tbh groundnpound an advantage when the ring give strikers a slight advantage. but people get tangled in the ropes, thats annoying. but there is much better visability in the ring. but in the cage action isn't stopped often. but the ring is symbolic of japenese mma.

The cage is awful. Anyone who fails to realize ridiculously unfair advantages a cage provides to certain kinds of fighters is either blind, or being willfully ignorant and stubborn.

The ring is the certainly the proper combat arena for the 3 major combat sports - Boxing, Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts.

Nope. Lay and prayers have a big advantage with cage because they can keep their opponent pinned against the cage and do nothing if they want. With the ring the ref usually moves them back to the center giving both opponents room to move. Regardless cage is better due to the fact its safer and getting caught in ropes is unsafe, BUT fighters in a cage can illiegaly grab onto the cage at opportune moments to turn a fight around. Both have goods and bads.

fighters that grab the cage are deducted points so it's to their own detriment if they grab it.

secondly, fights do restart from a neutral position in the UFC as well. if the ref sees no activity, because of lay and pray, he'll restart the fight on the feet, besides, i hate the interuptions where they restart the fight in the middle of the ring.

I agree, the cage is better. but with the cage if a fighter goes for a fight changing take down and their opponent grabs the cage to regain balance, it changes the fight and points taken or not, it can change the outcome of the fight. I do though like the cage MUCH better than the ring, but I think if DREAM makes the cage white, its not going to be a good idea for the viewing audience due to the color being more distracting to the eyes. Black cage = win.

there are pros and cons with both cage and ring, you can use the cage to corner an opponent or block takedowns

you can also use the ropes to rebound or get a restart from the ref if you cant escape

no matter where they fight people will always find a way to exploit their surroundings and rules

I also dislike it when fighters use the cage to their advantage, especially if you're a bigger fighter like brock lesnar, its just lnp then. I doubt we will ever see another ring fight in Dream and that is good news, I personally think the cage in UFC is far to big so I wouldn't mind a smaller one. The ring was designed for boxing and has never worked very well for mma. Even during the greatness of Pride its only weakness was the ring.

Because of the strike force and dream alliance, the fighters in dream have to get use to fighting inside the cage. Its probably gonna be vise versa for the strike force fighters as well. Since events are going to be held in japan and US fighter from both world has to adapt to each others fighting environment.
