The External battery pack looks like the Power Monkey - device for powering various gadgets, that can be bought separately (easy to google).

;-) its my good old Baby for rare road operations. I live in the mountains and normally ride mountain bikes (a modern one :-)

Garmin wanted to get me a carbon bike for this trip, which I declined with thanks. Otherwise makes my old wheel no longer fun.

yes. it will work also for skiing. and if you transfer the datas to garmin connect, you can export the tracks to google earth, see the altitude, speed and so on.

i know this is made for cycling.. but..

could this work on skiing aswell?? not for navigation ofc. just for speed, time, altitude measurement(google translate) etc etc. etc..??

Externe Stromversorgung. Das Gerät war ja den ganzen Tag im Messeeinsatz und wurde mit dem "schwarzen kasten" bei unserer abendlichen Ausfahrt nachgeladen. klick einfach auf den Link in der Beschreibung, da findest du den Text dazu.
