  • i don't understand her "advice" of gambling or not because she kind of mixed it all! :/

  • she's a cronic gambler that only survives due to endorsements.

  • Hasn't anybody noticed the laughter???(6.26...)And by the way i think annie is one of the top female pros..And those who disagree show up and show us your poker achievements if its better than hers..Don't judge(especially unfairly) so that you won't be judjed..

  • She said that she's not a gambler, she doesn't gamble, and then she mentioned her "gambling money"?...

  • Annie duke sucks, just plays methodical poker. No creation, would be completely outclassed against the great players in cashgames. Still proclaims herself to be the best female player. Her brother financed her and learned her the game. Things become allot easier then, healthy bankroll, learn the ins and outs of the game from a poker pro.

Have any of you read: 'Learn to play like a Robot' by Howard Lederer You can play like Annie to. Turn your 50$ deposit into 50K in a lifetime.lol

  • fuckit, shes a good player, but i think she's a bitch

  • Most poker players that have attained success only stay around the game via ENDORSEMENTS. Very few, including Annie, sustain a living with their poker skills. That is why she justifiably gets paid big money by Ultimate Bet to endorse their poker site. Annie has a degree in psychology and is full of shit.

  • Most successful poker players only stay around by endorsements? Most of their money comes from poker. There is thousands of people making good livings playing poker. They may not have bank rolls in the millions, but they are still making enough money to live a solid life. Tom Dwan just got his first endorsement with Full Tilt a few months ago, and he has been making millions since he was 19 or so.

  • Regardless of how great an edge you have in anything, there are NO guarantees that you are going to win. Annie has no clue what she is talking about. And long droughts do happen in any form of gambling, regardless of how well you manage your money.

  • She doesn't know what she is talknig about? She just won the national heads-up championship and is easy one of the top five female poker players in the world.

  • Annie Duke claims she does not gamble. What a liar and a fraud. I guess she plays for fun and not real money. Regardless of how skilled she is or thinks she is, anytime money is risked on ANYTHING, it is GAMBLING!

Definitions of gamble on the Web:

money that is risked for possible monetary gain

    to play games for money

    a risky act or venture

  • Poker, The Apprentice, and 1 vs. 100? She does it all!

  • She forgot to mention that she got 100k from her millionaire brother to bankroll her poker career.

  • Annie shouldve won Apprentice.. She was much much better than Joan!

  • this woman annie is good at the game, life a game you got to be the best at it

  • Annie has done very well in poker and The Apprentice. She's a very strong, intelligent , hard working and articulate woman. These types of woman have their critics because after all woman shouldn't be all those things all at the same time.

  • You people are complete idiots

  • Comment removed

  • I would rather know a controlling bitch, than one that was out of control.

  • lol

  • Both a vastly more intelligent person and skilled poker player than you are.

  • Damn right on Neonstrike.

  • Its still gambling, proffesionals just ually get their money in the middle when they have the best of it, doesnt mean you cant go on a bad run and lose huge amounts of money, but in the long run if you play well you will win more then you lose

  • if annie has as many sticking out as shes had stuck in shed be a fucking porcupine lmao

  • Mostly chance? Obviously you know nothing of the game...if it WAS a greater % of luck, phil helmuth, daniel n., phil ivey, gus hansen and 100's of others would be broke and not living a consistent successful profession. I started with the penny tables and built a bankroll and moved up to higher blinds...if ya know what to risk and when to risk it in accordance to % and return, you WILL make money. Sure i've had my bad beats and losses...but over the course...i'm up in profits over 3 yrs.LUCKY?

  • People can use denial to any extent. Poker isnt gambling? Gambling=wagering bets on a game of chance. Sorry, poker might be partly skill, but it's mostly chance.

  • It isn't gambling for that very small percent who have truely mastered the game.

  • roughly 25% of people who play poker win, maybe less

most people who lose dont really give a shit. they are playing for entertainment

  • i would definitely bang her

  • great thing about living in the USA is if you want to do something that won't hurt anyone else you can...well, okay sometimes you can...there are always the people who want to tell you how to live your life...wish they would go away or at least mind their own biiz

  • yeah its so great that i'm 19 and a pretty darn good poker player (all round not just holdem) yet i can't go hone my skills with other skilled players, makes me sick.

  • Ridiculous all these numbers being thrown around as if they are objective facts.

300million x 4% = 12million people. And yet some of the MSNBC/Fox news stories about the Port Security Bill claimed only 15-30 million folks play poker online -- where do these numbers come from!? Couldn't be outta the republicons' rectums, there's no room since that's where their collective heads are. >:(

  • You're not really good at maths, are you? You see the number that they threw out there was what is the % of people who get addicted to poker from playing it out of all US citizens. In a nutshell: 4% of those 15-30 million americans who play poker online develope somekind of addiction. It's actually quite correct data.

  • Google "lies, damn lies, and statistics" ;)

  • no the host is very good ok

  • Anine is a BABE

  • Dumb bitch ass whore host

  • This host is such a retard.

And Annie is a hottie. :D

  • Look at annie dukes stats. they are horrible. Jen Harmen, Cindy Violette are real poker players. She won a fckin sit and go tourney that ESPN held. a Freeroll. ANNIE DUKE TRYIN TO BEAT PHIL IVEY, DANIEL, DOYLE, HOWARD, AND HELLMUTH IS GAMBLING for her. She put herself in a spot to lose and she won. Didnt she even define gambling as that?

  • Shes a pro, do you think her stats are horrible when she can make a living out of it?

  • How does going up against pros make you in a losing position if you can keep up with them. As she obviously did.

  • lol -- Annie, like MOST of the big-name pros, is not raking in the majority of her income from TOURNAMENTS... it's cash games, where you will NEVER find "stats" unless they are online and even there it's rarely anything but higher stakes and HOLDEM ONLY.

Mike Matusow and a few others are rarities in that they have been mega-winners in high-profile tournaments... do you HONESTLY think "endorsements" would continue for a net-losing player??

  • I love you people . . .80 percent of poker is smoke and mirrors. The main TV players who got in on the poker boom are not making millions from POKER. lol HAHAHAHA. not at all my friends. Endorsments, contracts, and other money making revenus are here.

  • Playing poker Well, is not gambling.

Going on Tilt is, however. :)

  • i agree with the host comment. she seemed like she wasnt listening to annie. also the host seemed fake and below average in the intelligence department.

  • What a stupid host... Duke explains for a whole minute that she's not a gambler, and every question thereafter is about gambling.

  • I want her to lose all her money.

  • You don't get it. She ISN'T a gambler. Her skills have given her a small edge and it truely comes down to the more she plays, the more $ she makes.

Yeah she's not a brain surgeon, but she DOES have a skill.

  • I really want to think annie duke is hot, but then I look at her age, she's like forty..and I dont wanna be one of thsoe who likes old people

  • theres nothing wrong with a milf id do annie

  • Uh, hot is hot regardless of age. And Annie is definitely hot. I think she's more attractive than any of the other younger popular female players.

  • Shit, i live in montana...

  • If you're going to play poker for money, you should have a set amount to play and DON'T go over it. Even if you think you will recoup your losses on the "next" hand. And, don't bet the house.

  • Anytime you watch/listen to Annie Duke you MUST remember that she is PLAYING A ROLE.

The "semi-organic-mom-who-pays-poker" thing is a persona she's developed to try to leverage her place in the poker boom to maximize her success (and therefore her income.)

She has a degree in psychology and she USES it.

  • Give me a break. I think you're looking too deep into that, I'm sure the Annie you see is what she's really like.

  • Or perhaps her efforts to create a believable persona have succeeded?

Seen her since the recent face-lift, by the way? Looks like she's moving away from the "grunge MILF" thing now... but I'm sure her NEW look and attitude are what she's really like, not like before...

  • Annie was on "1 vs. 100" and also co-hosted "Best Damn Poker" with Phil Hellmuth... she is really a down-to-earth person, by the looks of it (although Daniel Negreanu says she has stinky feet or something, lololdschoolflamewarsaments)

  • SUCKS..
