Those expecting a lot of robot fights in Shin Mazinger are going to be disappointed. Imagawa is focusing more on the characters and the story. No, SMSH is not your brainless Super Robot action like Mazinkaiser, I'm sure that has pissed a lot of fans, but however, I still like the show for trying out something different. This show has some surprising twists, and those who have watched the original Mazinger Z are going to be like what the fuck but I won't spoil it for you, so just watch.

i hear this new mazinger series is loosely based off in Mazinger Z Manga because of the violence and other stuffs.. the disappearance of the police man (forgot his name) in the original Mazinger Z anime series can be seen in Shin Mazinger series.. someone correct me if i'm wrong..

If you think that's badass, try reading the Shin Mazinger Zero manga. Believe me, after reading not only this manga, but also the other Mazinger mangas, you'll have a different perception of the Mazingers.

Well... Dr. Hell is gonna have the same look from the Kaiser OVAs, normal. Baron Ashura has a different look, the others kinda as well, exceptions apart, like Sayaka. Mazinger Z will be the original color style before the series, used previously on the Kaiser OVA. Well, in other words, the series are going to kick ass.

It is said this version will combine elements from Nagai's previous works, as it is confirmed that Groizer-X will appear in this series. Zeus from the Z Mazinger manga is also confirmed. So if anything, the new series is akin to Spectacular Spider-man or Turn-A Gundam.

Kenji Akabane is given the go as the new voice of Kouji Kabuto. His voice is featured in the new Shin Mazinger trailer that appeared at the Tokyo Anime Festival with very positive reactions from fans. After all, everyone liked Hideo Ishikawa as the voice of Ryoma Nagare in Shin Getter Robo. So Kanji Akabane will perform just as good.

It roughly translates as "True Mazinger Impact! Z-Chapter". And this is the supposed Z Mazinger project which is in actuality, a new retelling of the original series (the staff doesn't want to classify this as a 'remake' or 'reboot').
