Please do a soft wheels review for secondary or 3rd set ups. The best I've used so far are OJ III Keyframes. Really smooth but can slide to a stop is necessary (bad drivers or crazy dogs). Test all the ones in "normal" shapes (not longboard wides).
@grimcity lol that guy probobly told someone eles not to skate there and said that to you cause he thinks all skaters are "little skater punks" and thinks were all one person. haha
No offense at all man... it was taped just a few blocks from my house (I'm from south Louisiana, born in Mississippi). I grew up in the country myself... I do get a little southern accent if I'm tired or tipsy, but my mom's from NYC so I think I picked up some of the way she talks over my lifetime. I'm dirty south 100%!
A- scroll to the part where the skating starts (the nerve of me to do a REVIEW, amirite??!?!11).
B- Don't watch my shit. If you see a video pop up on the YT sidebar that says it's from "grimcity," don't watch it.
My channel tends to cater to skate geeks, gear heads, and non-assholes. I insist that you make it a goal to avoid my chan so you won't be so butthurt.
I LOVE my hollows... I usually have two decks set up, and when doing a review a third, lately I've been rolling on Thunders on all of them, but I keep going back to my Hollows and Titanium Lights.
The bearings have treated me fine as well... after about three days they were really broken in, and super fast, but I switch up my rides a lot so I can't really speak to how long they last (though they've been skated pretty hard and are still raging).
@grimcity ya i write tht all the time on my skateboards!!.....u should also let people know tht this is the way life should be! to live to love and to skate!!
Ha, no hating or anything... I'm wrapping the P2 review and mentioned your scales and stuff, linking back to that. I didn't really touch the weight subject so much, I figured i'd link off to someone that actually did!
Glad you dig them, Dawgg! I sincerely try to make reviews as informative as possible... I know not everyone can get their hands on the same equipment, so I try to show/tell as much as I can and my personal experience with the gear. For real, thanks!
Ha, thanks man... as for the trucks, I have a bias towards the Thunders, but the Theeves I rode were a really solid truck. It's pretty much what you'll prefer, you know? Can't go wrong either way in my opinion.
Aha, got to ramblin on the whole illustrator, photoshop thing eh? Haha oh well, i liked the review. As always. Im psyched for the P2 review as I've been wondering how those skate.
Woo all the snow is almost off the streets, but i know the city won't clear all the gravel and sand off the roads and sidewalks for probably another month or 2 :(
Wow, Neil, can't believe you have a signature hat, definitely moving on up! Before you know it, you'll have a pro model board...unless you already do...<_<....*-*...(o_0)...Damn these emoticons, I can't find the one for wonder!
Haha, that's sick. When I skate street, I'm told that my "style" is like Rodney Mullen drunk and on crystal meth, hahahaa. I wish I had a fraction of his tricks!
I can't say they feel any different on the street... but on ramps and at the park, they felt like they were pretty good at maintaining speed. They've been really proper for three sets of wheels now, and usually I destroy bearings within two. I guess less parts = less stuff to go wrong, heh.
@grimcity i have pair of the regular bones swiss and they lasted 4 years of good avarage skateboarding... i've been skating for 14 years. currently i have the 6 ball ones.
@wtfareyousmoking not sure.. i've had them that long. i put them straight from the box with spacers between thebearings & the washers on my trucks on.. not sure if that answers your ?.. i left the bones swiss 608 shield intact.
First off, I skate with ankle braces (to help prevent some sprains). Outside of that, just be sure to wrap 'em up, keep them elevated as much as possible, and use ice in a bag, wrapped with a cloth (no direct ice-on-skin contact). The only way I know!
@grimcity Hear, hear--on both the raised, iced ankle and the brace. Even a $10 soft ankle brace will help a lot. I usually wear one on my push foot when skating street.
@method4uandme You can try arnica gel -- get it from the healthy hippie stores. Day-to-day my doc said to wear good quality insoles in my skate shoes to reduce stress on ankles. Seems to help.
Hey me and Timmy might be going to the park early tomorrow morning at like 6 so if you don't have work or anything you should come skate with us because we haven't skated in a while, and p.ls. that dude in the white truck kicked me out the bank too when i was filming lol
i love how you handle getting kicked out of places. thats how it should be. respect and you wont have trouble then you can just go skate at other places. i hate people who think their cool by trying to fight back but not you. props
You know it! I just want to do tricks, I don't want to be in anyone's face! I wound up talking to the dude for over 30 minutes, but by then we were just talking about random stuff- he wound up being an allright guy, just didn't want me on his stairs... hehe
Nah, our scene is huge, I just try to adjust my filming time when I know there's low traffic- don't want to have my tripod in the way of anybody. During the day the park and some of the spots are pretty packed!
Also, I did do a Khiro bushing review... I can't link to it but just check my video uploads homie.
Gotta' say this, your style is improving, the "steeze" is much better and your kickflip down the stair didn't look like a verticle kickflip. Mad skillz man.
I'm a longboarder, and I watch your reviews because of the details and such. as far as wheels go, cores are made also because wheels slide. Force pushes the cores out from the truck axles/hangars. the cores are tested for their ability to hold in place. Cores are also designed due to urethane wear so the smaller the core, the more urethane you can use before the wheel cores and has to be replaced. you should try bushings other than bones like reflex, venom, sabre. keep up the good work!!
Hey man, thanks a lot for that insight and added information! I have a longboard, but I'm not really knowledgeable about it's current technology (I'm riding an original Joel Tudor on Kryptos), so I really appreciate some word from someone with a close association with it... I lurk on Silverfish but most of it goes over my head! haha
@Cuhrispy yeah i agree i ride with a 90a reflex in the bottom of my theeve trucks. i tryed to fit some barrels in but they are too big ill need to get a bigger kingpin :P
@punksownemos you could do that... or what you could do is put in a normal bushing on the bottom, barrel or whatever, and if you don't want to change kingpin lengths try out the short reflex cones. they will fit.
Neal your videos inspire me to be a better skater and to practice and also to be more informative about our skating world you are the best man keep skating peace and love Bro

I cant wait for your next video. I love how you actually know what your talking about when you review products. And I equally love it when you find a product that doesnt perform well because your not going to hold back and say it doesnt suck.
One thing though, I have a Zero P2 and my bottom ply got cracks vertically down the nose and tail only in the bottom ply, and then it started to get warped. It's not effecting the performance yet, but its just really weird.
Thanks for the kind words, volcom... super hyped, man!
Sounds like your getting stress cracks... are they like little hairlines? I get those a lot... sometimes when we smash down hard we flex the concave of the deck. Maybe? Ha, hard to know! Thanks again homie, skate hard!
