Because he's not as good as Ward or Direll probably. I'm actually surprised they didn't put Bute in considering he's unbeated, same record as froch & is a world champion at the weight class, but apparently they didn't even offer Bute a spot because Ward & Direll could easily take him out.

He's (Green) more seasoned than both of them, this I know, and has done more.

What it is is that they are two Olympians, which in England can gets you a lot of exposure, million quid before you even fight, ask A. Khan/A. Harrison.

This decision will probably satisfy the public more, as it's mainly hard core boxing fans that would know about Allan Green whereas a casual dude may know Ward or Direll dude to their Athens achievements
