@AlexHWalker and that's done by the REAL prince. that's quite impressive for me who hates royalties and all the glamor around it. this horse riding is amazing!
well I may not be of an Arabian descent but being here in Qatar, the meaning of the Arabian horse is very important to them and it shows the people of the world the spirit of a warrior within the Arabians... It is not stupid or fake or an olympic rip-off! Just because Qatar is not fully known to the world, it doesn't mean that anybody has the right to disrespect them! maybe you are the one that is tasteless aatox!
dgenx210: I haven't disrespected an entire nation, just because I find this stunt tasteless, for god's sake! It's not an issue of pride, really. Try to keep things in perspective, please.
I'm sorry, but this looks just strange and stupid. Riding a horse up some steep stairs, and thus risking the animal's life, just to light some Olympic rip-off fire feature? It's not brave, just tasteless and irrelevant, in my opinion.
You simply dont understand because youre american... im latin american and I understan the symbolism of what the arabic horse with the arab nations.. of what an arabic horse can do... it's strength loyalty and compoture even thought it is surrounded by millions of people and yet it climbed those steps like no other kind of horse would be able to do
Well, I'm actually not American. I'm European, or more precisely Swedish of Finnish descent. :)
I do indeed understand what a powerful symbol the Arabian horse is to the Arab culture (although this particular horse was obviously brought in from Australia, along with two stand-in horses). I just don't find it worth risking the animal's life for such a stunt performance! And the horse almost slipped on those stairs, as you can see in the video.
I said that I understand that the Arabian horse is a powerful symbol for the people, but that doesn't justify risking its life just for some senseless entertainment purposes. As simple as that.
no first you said something else... and second they didnt risk its life..stop being a fag, those horses are extremly strong and power full ... its not just gonna fall... plus I dont think they would let the Prince do something that he would be able to handle and that it would en danger his life... this guy has to much money for him to be seen falling off a horse... so anyways 1st. Its not strange 2nd its not stupid... 3rd Everyone thought it was awsome and it did have a lot of class.
Quite obviously our opinions differ a lot. I don't give a toss about some totally irrelevant macho attitude - "this guy has to much money for him to be seen falling off a horse", "stop being a fag", "it did have a lot of class". You can endorse it as much as you like. For me the whole thing seems just strange, tasteless and risky. End of discussion.
Tasteless?...mmm maybe for you and thats it... risky... not even 1% of risk. Who is acting macho?..just cause ur a fag doesnt mean im acting macho. END OF DISCUSSION.
Hope to see more

I'm not Qatari, but the prince and his horse are the symbol of both the Arabian horse and the people.
It shows the courage, bravery and pride.
