  • Ha uma coletania do CD The Best of Bond...James Bond que tem este tema

  • I remember watching Tomorrow Never Dies for the first time when I was a little boy.

  • Sheryl Crow's version was alright, but after hearing this I thought this definitely should've been the Opening. The reason being is that after hearing this, I was ready and pumped but the film was over... :/

  • Best Bond song, Best Bond film, Best Bond Actor

  • my fav. bond movie. ive seen this more than 50 times.

  • They were nuts going for Sheryl Crows song over this! This song is pure Bond!

  • this song should've been used in the title sequence. it's amazing

  • What a voice...chocolate, velvet and oh soooo sublime! No one can outmatch her! We are so privileged to be able to hear this in our lifetime. Thank you KD!!!

  • @Zenobia274 a masculine lesbian with an ugly voice singing BOND? no way..ahahhaha

  • @JayTj2 This song knocks the crap out of Sheryl Crow's version.

  • Yep- your all right- its definatley better than Sheryl Crows one (and is the best Bond song)!!

  • I have a soft spot for Sheryl Crow's smokey, piano riffed song, but K. D. Lang's is just SO Bond: commanding, alluring, brassy and THOSE strings!

  • Best thing in world of ever then the beating of everness.

  • best Bond song Ever!

  • yes it does but they were trying to shy away from the past and show that this bond is very different from the older bonds. this song is cool i like tomorrow never dies because its different from the earlier ones im not bashing this one its really gud but i think that sherryl crow's version fit the movie

  • PAL AND 24FPS ES???LIKE ARE YOU JAMES BOND?I DONT HAVE THE BRAIN TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.BUT THIS IS GREAT.THANKS SO MUCH.

    DUMMY

  • This song would've been perfect in the main titles as the score itself plays this during the action. Most notably in the car chase scene.

  • Its obvious this was originally written to be the main title song of the film. During the pre-title sequence, the tune makes a brief appearance on the score. If you listen carefully between 05:20 and 05:43 you can hear it. Why would they put the "end title" tune into the movie 5 mins into it, and the Sheryl Crowe song isn't heard? They did the change at the last minute because someone felt Sheryl Crowe's name as the "main" song would sell more CD's - art went out the window for greed.

  • This song 100% should be opening theme of this movie. Very powerful orchestra arrangement!! One of best song in 007 series.

  • i realy miss Pierce Brosnan the best james bond ever..

  • @MIMOQ7 i feel the same way. i like daniel craig as bond but i do have nostalgia for the pierce brosnan films (the early ones, that is) these new films are just a rip off of jason bourne and feel tired and unoriginal.

  • @MIMOQ7 You are right!!

  • Funny, now that I've heard the not sped up version, I still prefer this one. Her voice is a bit too languid at normal speed.

  • How on earth was this not made the opening credits track? This is pure Bond.

  • @Shaggy2Jope Exactly!!! I thought the same thing when I first heard it.

  • @jude1871 I have listened to this song four times now. This is not only the far superior song that should have been the opening credits song but even more than that....as far as I'm concerned, this is by far one of THE BEST bond songs in the history of the franchise.

  • @peshand1

watched the film in 2011, film made in what, 2002...end credit titles evoke the feelings and memories of the bond film watched in the 70s (which includes the especially the Connery / Bassey periods made earlier)

Absolutely fantastic score, totally appropriate, great job. Actually want to watch the credits without some ass minimising the screen, turning down the volume and telling you what program is on NEXT!! as if I cant wait 20 seconds for petes sake. let the damn credits finish!

  • @Fizzypop1211

Tomorrow Never Dies came out in 1997

  • @mistacramer

wow time flies faster than you realize...

  • Sheryl won out purely due to being commercially more appealing to the producers. Her name would bring some level of interest during marketing. It is a shame because nearly all the musicians involved in the movie knew this was the most fitting song. There was a mini documentary made on how the music was created and selected. Maybe it is in the DVD. It is one of the most bond esque songs ever. I love it.

  • i like the sheryl crowe song but this would have been a better main theme

  • esta musica é muito melhor que aquela que tocou na abertura do filme, esta sim que deveria tocar na abertura....

  • This song should be the theme song.

  • There's a video here in YouTube where you can see the opening credits with this theme song... im beginning to believe that this WAS the intended intro song, but for whatever reason they changed it at the end... still remember when i saw the movie on theather and this song begun to sound and the credits begun to roll... i was like... WOW...

  • @Padauy Almost all the movies has a 2nd theme song in case that the original artist/song is unaviable :)

  • @Pettept The James Bond series until this one, from The World is not Enough they use the same song for the opening and ending credits...

  • @Padauy Yes, Have you heard the alternative songs for the Sean Connery movies? Example: Dr. No had Kingston Kalypso to make the opening song, but an unknown band had the song "Jump up", you can hear it in the movie. almost all movies has a alternative song in the movie from a unknown group.

  • i love this music

  • it sounds faster than the studio track.

  • @aaronpaul777 It is. Movies are filmed at 24 frames/sec, whereas the PAL system run at 25. Therefore the playback is sped-up slightly, around 3-4%, and the audio consequently has a higher pitch. If you check out my other videos you'll see I slowed some down to 24FPS in order to get the original playback speed.

  • @mrmaestrom I believe this is a completely different version than the original track that was included in TND OST. Just listen to this one and the track on the soundtrack. You'll notice several differences in the way the song is performed, not only in the tempo of it, but also in the way the instruments play, the way Lang sings this one compared to the track on the OST. Unless I'm crazy or sth I believe I have some right.. :/

  • @mrmaestrom Thanks for being so wise about this. I myself have wondered this for some time: What's the problem about running films in their original speed? I also wonder whether cinemas in Europe show films with increased speed or not: I think I remember Casino Royale being showed in the 'original' speed. A funny thing is that the song 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' (the European DVD) has the same pitch as the original! :D

  • This is the best 007 song ever!!!!

  • I think this theme song should have been at the begining of the film not the end. Just my opinion.

  • @Butchuk2007

The track was intended to be the title, because you can hear those opening few bars throughout the film score for the rest of the movie. Funnily enough, the new bond films they wanted to not use the bond theme and make an alternative sound... but this song's probably got the best alternative sound that's the closest to the bond theme song.

  • LeCommensale, I believe the line goes "The news is that I am in control", but I suppose the meaning isn't substantially different.

  • This is definitely a good Bond song.

  • I watched 100 best bond henchmen and Stamper got number one, at first i was confused and surprised but after sum thought and after they gave their reasons it became clear HE IS! lol i mean a blonde haired blue eyed german muscle man i mean it doesnt get better!

  • a nod to Goldfinger...

more realistic, but still a fantasy/cliche...

    thumbs up

  • this was much more Bond-esque than the sherryl crow song

  • @JordanSayz absolutely this should had been at the opening of the movie!

  • just made more sense, boisterous instrumentals, sultry voice, overall 60's tone...but alas what we got was what we got

  • @JordanSayz 10 times better!

  • @JordanSayz I agree, this should have been the main titles theme, its much more bond esq.

  • @JordanSayz Agreed..

  • @JordanSayz I disagree Jordan, they're both Bond-esque songs; this has the benefit of David Arnold's riffs, but the better version won for that movie.

  • @JordanSayz I agree, it has more of a bond quality to it although the sheryl crow song is still nice.

  • Notice how at 0:27, the lyrics say "the news, is an eye, and in, control". There is a big hidden truth in those words. Actually, the whole movie is chalk full of hidden truths, and evil.

  • @LeCommensale "The news is that I am in control"

  • @jp3813 - You're correct. Sorry about my error. However, i agree with another person who responded to my original comment that there is not great substantual difference between the two sentences.

  • @LeCommensale In terms of the words "I" and "eye"?

  • @jp3813 - By 'substantial' i mean: the overall meaning/message, not the individual words. Although, you're right about the i thing.

  • I enjoy listening to both the song by Sheryl Crow and by KD Lang. I think they made the right decision to use Crow's song at the beginning, as it is more modern. Lang's song goes better with the credits. In the end, its all good.

  • i wish this was the main title song-best of the Brosnan films!

  • the most beautiful bond movie ending credits song.

  • Agreed TND is very underrated. Price is one of the best bond villains ever, Yeoh one of the best girls. This song was going to be the intro song before Cheryl Crowe decided last minute to do a song. This is the better song tho.

  • Tomorrow Never Dies was great and underrated Bond movie. Pierce Brosnan shines as always. Michelle Yeoh was great - maybe the strongest Bond Girl. She could kick Bond's ass too. Jonathan Pryce was great villain. Teri Hatcher should have had much more screen time.

I also love K.D.Lang's theme song - really unique performance

  • yeah i don't understand why i can't find it at blockbuster or family video.....i have been looking for it since i was 7......im 13

  • Also, Stamper and Kaufmann where good Henchman.

  • This ending song was better than a lot of the intro songs in other Bond movies...

  • It certainly has an old school sound and feel. But as a main titles song, I don't think it would have worked for a 1997 film. 1967, yes. But not 1997. Putting it at the end fits perfectly, though.

  • i agree for some reason i feel slightly nostalgic

  • 209977 this is not football, this is a great song

  • This is a perfect Bond song. I still love the end credit songs from both Dalton films too, especially "If You Asked Me To", from License To Kill.

  • Your life is a story I've already written... crazy ass newspaper guy (can't remember his name) anyone?

  • Elliot Carver

  • Thanks man, always forget his name.

  • Elliot Carver

  • this is way better than sheryl crow's song

    god this kicks ass

  • Oh Come on I say that the horns on this song are great and she gives a great performance but Sheryl's performance is over the top and much more bang on the songs production value.

but hey I guess your entitled to your opinion

  • Kinda like the horns in Goldfinger

  • This song fits better as a james bond theme. not to say Sheryl Crow's song isn't good, just that this song is better suited for bond. however, I'm just stating my opinion.

  • Agreed. Sheryl's is great but this song is a legend!!!

  • k.d. lang the women who sang "Surrender" the end credits for Tomorrow Never Dies sang at our local theater in my hometown :)

  • James Bond Will Return : )

  • The end credit songs are those that naroowly miss out on becomming the acctual James Bond song I prefef the sherel cole version

  • are you kidding me?? no contest. this version should've been used on the opening.

k.d. lang's song is better written, arranged, performed, waaaaay more dynamic and just more... well... BONDIAN. i mean, c'mon!!! THAT VOCAL grabs you by the throat and doesn't let you go. i get chills.

i'd love to know the reasons for this bizarre decision. this is one where contract law trumped good sense.

but it looks like k.d. lang's getting her ultimate revenge on youtube.

  • is this version called summat different?

    or tomorrow never dies aswell?

  • Surrender by KD Lang

  • thanks

  • WAAAAAAAAAYYY better than Sheryl Crow's version!

  • poor albert.R cubby broccoli =(

he was the man from james bond!

  • the song should have been the opening credits theme

  • Ah Pierce Brosnan, Michelle Yeoh, Judi Dench...for Tomorrow Never Dies ages well. However then again most Bond films do age well. Love "Surrender"

  • Me too

  • If Albert R. Broccoli Didn't bring Ian Fleming's creation to the big screen, we wouldn't one of the biggest franchaise eva made.

  • U are right man!

  • Thank you for mentioning the high quality version! It is worth it!

  • Of course it is! I have a fast connection!

  • I feel that the song playing with the end credits of any film is important. I think that since it is the last part of the film that the audience hears as the crowd leaves the theatre, it should reflect on the film as a whole and recapture the emotion of the events that just took place throughout the film.... I think this song did just that.

  • I think this song is perfect for the credits in TND 007

  • Plus it leave a reason for the audience to sit through the credits.

  • This is best!

  • I have it...

  • Really?

  • Yep.

  • Best movie ever!

  • High quality type is great!

  • This was rejected as the main theme but kept for the end credits, shame Quantum of Solace didn't have such fierce competition for the opening song!!!!!

  • this is good. i have the game too. it is made by EA?

  • who sings this song?

  • K.D. Lang

  • the key on this song is off, either that or this is sped up, check the intro videos w/ this song to see what I mean

  • That's an inherent problem with film to TV conversion. Film is shot at 24 frames-per-second, while PAL TV/DVD's run at 25 frames-per-second, therefore the movie is sped-up by around 3-4%, resulting in the slightly off-key sound.

  • I always liked this version of the song better than the soundtrack version. Thanks for uploading! XD

  • I love them both, but Lang's voice is matched by very few.

  • Ah, i'd love to hear this song performed by Shirley Bassey *__*

  • Better song than Sheryl Crow's in the opening credits.

  • yep.

  • Yep.
