  • @CloudsAreFluffie Thaankyou My mistake :)

  • @Makeeup4YOU No problem at all. c:

  • @Makeeup4YOU This is Jackie Chan... can't you tell? He sang both versions.

  • @DisturbedAidan2 the chinese one as well?

  • @drummerxkun ... this is Chinese. Mandarin is the 1st language of China. Cantonese is also a chinese language. Both languages are written the same, they are just spoken completely differently.

  • It's Jackie Chan singing this in Cantonese :)

  • Love Jackie Chan, but Donny Osmond all the way.

  • I'm singing this for my Chinese 2 class, and we have to make a video and pit it on YouTube:)

  • Jackie Chan FTW!!!!!

  • the american and chinese (mandarin) voice of mulan actually sound the same :D

  • This might be a stupid question, but I don't know Chinese, so I'm a bit ignorant! From what I understand, tones in Chinese are phonetic, meaning that the tone with which you speak a syllable has an effect on its meaning. If that's the case, what do vocalists do in order to sing a word with the correct tone? Wouldn't it be really difficult to sing not only to sing the musical tones (C, D, etc.) but also the Chinese tones, or am I misunderstanding something?

  • @TheFanwindow From what I understand, in Mandarin songs usually the tone is ignored but not as much in Cantonese songs. I'm not sure what other "dialects" do. As for how much it obscures the meaning, my boyfriend is from Hong Kong and speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese fluently and he can understand this song perfectly, so I'm guessing though it might get confusing, it doesn't make it too hard to understand. Not entirely sure how that works since I'm only beginning to learn Mandarin myself. :)

  • @TheFanwindow people that understand Chinese will understand what the lyrics is saying based on context of all the lyrics.

  • still amazed that jackie Chan alson sings this his son is also very talented yet hard to say who the better singer is?

  • @MrAlonso1159 Why not both being great singers? :3

  • @YinYangPeace true they are both extremely talented

  • @MrAlonso1159 yup :)

  • thanks a lot for the lyrics :D ^^

  • hercules at greek

    mulan at mandarin

notre dame and b and the b at french

    aladdin at arabic or turkish

i love them!!!does someone have any other suggestion?

  • @aniretakDB007

    Anastasia in Russian

    Aristocats in French

Mabye even An American Tale in Russian?

  • @aniretakDB007 Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, Cinderella are English

  • @CarmenSanata

but sleeping beauty, snow white and cinderalla originally are german, because they were written down by brothers grimm, by the names of: Dornröschen, Schneewittchen and Aschenputtel. (like Rapunzel, by the way... which is tangled in english)

  • @RinaFelton Actually, the Grimm brothers only collected alot of legends and popular stories passed down from parents to children and published them all in a book, they didn't actually write them. Now if all those are geman or not is another topic, I don't know about that.

  • Watching the whole film in Mandarin is so awesome and legit!!!

  • I'm from Taiwan and I think Jackie Chan's voice is a little bit too old for Shang while the German version of Shang's voice is a bit too young, anyway it's a good song

  • @lv5creep The Korean voice was a bit old for Shang too, maybe Japanese too (not sure). But, at least the voices are better than English (in English he doesn't sound very tough compared to Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese).

  • Mulan's voice sounds SO pretty when she sings!!! <3

  • I'm Chinese and it sounds kinda weird in Mandarin. Jackie Chan speaks Mandarin with a heavy Cantonese accent, maybe that's why it's so weird......... Also, they should find someone with a slightly lower voice too~ Just sayin'~

  • @ireneismad Yeah, he's from Hong Kong so...yeah. lol But they're lazy.

  • It's kind of funny how the lyrics won't even rhyme in other dubs of the movie, in their language.

  • @FxckCensors thats because its not written in mandarin, its just translated over. have you ever hear a mandarin song translated into english? its pretty bad sometimes, lol

  • captain Shang is way hotter in english:)))) sorry:)))

  • @LelekaStesha Chinese Shang: Jackie Chan

    English Shang: Donny Osmond

    Just sayin'

  • Jackie Chan Singing ftw

  • Love Jackie Chan.

  • I love the Mandarin Chinese dubbing on this movie... <3

  • NAN ZHI HAN!

  • I wonder if the Chinese army uses this song to help build moral and raise their spirits. I know it would for me.

  • 2:43 on is the best.

  • Jacki-chan fights&sings holy freeken brown cow :D

  • holy cow, that was epic, its always interesting to hear mpovies in the tounge that they are based on, ie anastasia in russian, and the lion kink in zulu, faved

  • MIND BLOWN. Jackie Chan sings this.

  • @blondegirl818 You didn't recognize his voice right away? It's kind of extremely noticeable, he could be speaking Spanish and you'd know it was him. :|

  • This scene is what every day is like in my Chinese class.

  • i'm crushed! it doesn't sound right in mandarin : (

  • @oCAWo

    Exactly...cuz it isn't

  • @BlessYou47 一意孤行的笨蛋哦; it doesn't sound right to me because i grew up with the american movie and the chinese cadences don't fit in "my" version. perhaps you've seen a mislabeled video; listen to this one and you'll have no trouble hearing the difference.

  • @BlessYou47 watch?v=oyoPdE9jOg8

  • @oCAWo

    嗨,

    感謝您的評論。

You right...maybe I have a mislabelled video. Because on my page it say Cantonese and I just assumed it to be! The link that you posted sounds exactly like the one this page. Maybe there is a different video on my page and a different on mine. Well...my one is sure Cantonese and I am assuming your one is Mandarin.

    反正...

    再見

  • Mulan actually makes a cute guy. Never realised that before. o.o

  • 0:48 suddenly she has bigger things to worry about than a beetle down her back! O_o

  • Great...what a catchy song even though in Cantonese!

  • @BlessYou47 It is in Mandarin. Just too bad Jackie fails to pronounce some of the words properly.

Instead of saying "W-ang" he says "W-Onhg" wtf?

  • @Ravensteinzh

No its in Cantonese mate!!.....pretty sure about that.

Jackie Chan would find it incredibly hard if not impossible to speak Mandarin because he was brought up in Hong Kong which is a city that speaks Cantonese. People who speak Cantonese often find it difficult to speak Mandarin!!

  • @BlessYou47 I speak Mandarin as it is my mother tongue and I can honestly tell you, just as everyone here says, that this is Mandarin. Please do not tell me what is not Mandarin, I can tell my own language.

Jackie Chan find it hard to speak Mandarin, no wonder, he fails at pronounciation.

  • @Ravensteinzh

I speak Cantonese! Hurray for both of us speak Chinese language!!

Not trying to argue...his prononuciation is pretty good. You said that instead of saying ''W-ang '' he says ''W-onhg'' but you don't find chinese people whether they speak Mandarin or Cantonese pronouncing Wang the way it's spelt. Please do no tell me what is not CANTONESE , I can tell my own language. And by the JACKIE CHAN ROCKS!!

  • @BlessYou47 It is not Cantonese. You don't speak Cantonese if you think this is Cantonese. Stop lying.

  • @Ravensteinzh

I am not lying and I do speak Cantonese. It is in Cantonese but if you don't believe then go check other links on youtube for this particular video. Type in the same title as above but put cantonese instead of Mandarin. You will find the same song but the title will read that it is in Cantonese. If you still don't believe me then go check up the song to see what language it is in. I am telling the truth here Ravensteinzh. Nice talking to you anyway.

    謝謝

    Xie xie!!

  • @BlessYou47 come on...i am chinese and for sure it is mandarin. and jacky' s pronounciation is pretty well, as my point of view.

  • omg wait a minute *fact checks it* it actually is Jackie Chan. I was right lol

  • OMG is it me or does Shang's VA sound like JACKIE CHAN?!

  • jajaja me gusta como suena en mandarin ajaja

  • @P4per126 lol, German for Paris.

  • @Aubainex Notice I said "in languages other than english." I didn't say in the languages of their country.

Surprising as it may be, the German dub (in my opinion) sounds better than the French one, for HoND.

The French voice actors chosen don't seem all that great. That, and the French version is harder to find.

  • THUMBS UP if that gave you CHILLS!

  • I gotta watch the who movie in Mandarin now...I bet I'll love it even more than before, if that possible.

  • Jackie Chan. What CAN'T he do???

  • @ifisas Have a baby? o.O

  • i think its kinda weird how he says "we've got along way to go " in japanese....

  • @XtranormalTube its chinese?

  • @XtranormalTube Nope, it's Mandarin. There are many phrases in Japanese that sound very similar to Mandarin.

  • who sing?

  • @portugis jackie chan sings this

  • 9 people don't have the force of a great typhoon.

  • Individually looking up every mandarin word is a much better use of my time than hitting up meme sites, deviantart, or ign/video game sites where people bitch about Nintendo being "doomed".

  • This video made me a man. And I'm a woman.

  • lol uh.. hello Jackie Chan.. XD

  • Do they have this song in Mongolian? they did like every language but Mongolian

  • I know that jackie can kung fu , but i didn't know that he is a good singer, thumbs up for jackie !!!! :P

  • @heeenkee10 He sang in some of his movies. Among his American-released/titled movies, Around the World in 80 Days is one, though it's not English nor Chinese, I think that's French or something in tune of "Are You Sleeping, Brother John". Another is Rob-B-Hood, if I'm not mistaken. :) And he used to be in a singing group or something. If you wanna see more of him singing, search for the playlist "JACKIE !!" :D

  • Who's singing that? Is it jackie chan ?

  • @YukiN0Yume yep.

  • @YukiN0Yume YES! <3

  • Who here knew that jackie chan sang this?

  • @Kenkenvu801 At least I didn't xD

  • what does nan zi han mean??

  • @PurpleNymph

um...rather roughly translated as a good man...like a honorable man

    ...

something like that. theres alot of uh...cultural meaning that doesnt really translate into english

  • @kakuoh i thought bu ren shu is something like 'real mean', what does bu ren shu mean?? :D thanks

  • @PurpleNymph Don´t lose, or don´t give up, or don´t accept defeat :)

  • @PurpleNymph

bu ren sho mean wont admit defeat. the entire line (i assume you mean Yao cheng wei nan zi han bu ren shu) mean something like when a man comes across obstacles he wont admit defeat.

  • @kakuoh xiexie :D

  • @PurpleNymph Be a real man

Be a man who never gives in failure!

西方極樂等我光臨 The paradise is coming (‘西方極樂’ means passed away)

我看大家全都被他嚇傻了(Liao) It seems everybody are stunned by him

他們膽戰又心驚 They are stricken and scared

  • Song by: Jackie Chen (成龍)

    (1st)

大家同心作戰 讓匈奴絕望 Fight for the Huns and make them in despair

為何這群士兵 都像個姑娘? Why these soldiers are all like a girl?

你們笨拙散漫又扭捏 You clumsy, undisiplined and minced

我會改變你的前途 I will change your future

要成為 男子漢 不認輸! Be a man! Never accept defeat!

  • 中文版好聽!!

  • i know jackie chan sings the song but does he also do the noral speaking voice of shang?

  • @SRDsports yup, he's the mandarian

    voice for captain li shang

  • It's more authentic to watch the mulan movies in mandarin, aladin in arabic, and beauty and the beast and cinderella in french

  • @Noodle708 u forgot watching Lion King in Swahili and Prince of Egypt in Hebrew ;)

  • 8 people weren't made men

  • isn't this jackie chan singing, right?

  • I think the Cantonese and English version are better.

  • Don't get me wrong, D.B Wong was great, but the English version of Mulan would have been even more awesome with Jackie Chan voicing Shang.

  • SHANG IS HOT! HE IS THE HOTTEST GUY IN DISNEY'S MOVIES AHAHHA HOT ASIAN GUY SCORES!

  • i would have fainted and fallen off the post as soon as shang came out topless lol

  • @1kissbee ME TOO!!!!!! AHAHAHAHHAHA

  • JACKY CHAN SANG THIS!!! OMG, THIS Vid's awesomeness has increased by 10,000!!!

  • @ChasehaWing ITS OVER 9,000!!!!! (very sorry i couldnt resist, and ye i agree with you)

  • Go Jackie, go!

  • i think this version is very boring compared to many other versions. included the english, danish and the french ones

  • @brusen157 well that can be, according to your opinion even though this was sung by Jackie Chan.

  • They should have got someone who can sing to do this....

  • Wow now I have both the Mandarin and the Cantonese version, both by Jackie :)

  • jackie chan what a legend!

  • I am curious, what did the Chinese think of this movie when it came out?

  • @Shadowthrone08 Well my chinese mom loved it

  • @Shadowthrone08 I hear is ban in China

  • @laurencelikestopgun Don't be silly. It's not banned. Everyone in China knows it. They even talk about this movie in Vicky Zhao's version of "Mulan".

  • @Shadowthrone08 They find Mulan to be unattractive. The directors chose Bai Ling to be a model for Hua Mulan, but she is considered as butt-ugly in Asia, even though westerners find her attractive. As a result, Hua Mulan is considered as butt-ugly. Apart from that they are really happy about the film.

  • @GaolisVideoLog what is it about Bai Ling that Asia considers her to be ugly? I admit she isn't the prettiest girl out there but what is the difference?

  • @darkraven2116 Let's see. I'll name a few Asian actresses considered to be beautiful, ok? Asians think Jing Tian, Fan Bingbing or Zhao Wei to be beautiful. Or try Katrina Halili, Marian Rivera, Yoon So-Yi, or maybe even Gianna Jun. Generally, a pale complexion & rounder eyes and not having a moon face does it. Bai Ling seems to be trying very hard to fit the western ideal of an Asian woman. Emphasizing slanted with her make-up & a "stereotypical" Chinese haircut too. This makes her appear weird.

  • @GaolisVideoLog really? they find mulan ugly?? but...but....why <:(

  • @Asperuaca Pls. look at the other comment I made. About a week ago.

  • @GaolisVideoLog I totally agree with you! I don't like her as Mulan, too. I personally think that Crystal Liu Yi Fei could've fit even better.
