@FCB2013 no problem! not sure if those settings will help you as the vocal material can be quite different from song to song, also I meant "this may vary as Q settings are different between EQs" - not compressors, but you probably presumed that :P Good luck with your remix!

All we did was compress it (-18.4db threshold, 10ms attack, 4:1 ratio, 80ms release, 5db makeup, dry/wet at 70% if your compressor allows it), and then we did some EQ (slight dip at 392hz, -0.45db, 2.3 Q - this may vary as Q settings are different between compressors, slight boost at 2506hz, +0.18db, 1.0 Q, big dip at 9800hz, -12.36db, 11 Q) - then we just put a mono delay on the end of the chain.

@thelooker28 Thanks! Short answer, probably not. There could be some copyright implications since this is a derivative work, however, it has some originality of its own. Usually copyright infringement liability only occurs if the remix is substantially similar to the original. For example, if we had taken his song and just sped it up twice the speed and then called it a remix and redistributed it, then we could be liable. It would be a much larger and serious problem if we charged for it.
