@nso1256 Bare in mind I've only seen up to Season 4 and have Season 5 ordered, so don't spoil it beyond that points please - Dexter seemed to care for things he found logically / reasonably fair to care for, and Rita was included. In the show Rita was basically a perfect person and it's great that it opened up that aspect of Dexter, honestly.

I've been thinking about philsophy for more than half my life and I'm happy to say I'm pretty adept with morality - I already had the basis for whether Dex was right or wrong, (spoiler alert) - in Season 2 his hesitation to release Doakes' cost him his life, a moral fall on Dex's part, and in Season 4 there were repeated incidents concerning Dexter that may have been due to the slow transition of being an emotional person - I questioned what emotions were, and still am, kind of.
