  • thumbs up if yes, the queen does get older. just like you and me.

  • Is that fade to black violin version

  • lol that fiver looks like monopoly money all the ones i get are battered up!

  • whats the song in the background?

  • @danagarro

Sounds like an instrumental version of "Fade to Black"

  • @lukestarspeeder lol that is some old story bro dont you remember they printed loads more. These days 5 pound notes are everywhere, the 5 pound note shortage was back in 2005 you clown.

  • and also there is a welsh dragon one the back of a pound coin and the most resent one is a pice of a crest which the 5p 1p and the 10p have a peice of it and if u pit then together it makes a full size crest are currency is weried

  • we need to bring back the 1 Pound note for the UK

  • btw..that "weird tree thing with balls on it" is actually a leek, for Wales.

The leek is a national emblem of Wales,

  • if you find any 20p coins that havn't got a date on them - sell them, they're worth a lot

  • seeing as u made this video on english currency, have u heard about the undated 20p coins floating about the place? wish i had a few, they're worth a few quid let me tell u :)

  • they bring out a diffrent kind of picture on the 50p every-year or so my mum collects them lol

  • 2 pence coin i was on about..

  • leave the 1989 one in a glass of cola for a while and it will start to shine...

  • and u can bend a five pound note to make the queen smile :)xoxox search it its funy

  • dunno if u care much but im from england and i love the point to, and i think ur well fit, lips and eyes are quit nice to loook at so fanks for making the video and send us a message some time

  • just thought u would like to know that they made £5 coins once and the 5p coin used to be bigger and thicker than a 10p coin :)

i miss lucky charms :( they were taken away from us :@

  • Great video! I love our money too! The Lion and Unicorn is our Royal Coat of Arms. Apparently, they're fighting for the crown in the middle, or at least that's what the nursery rhyme says:

"The lion and the unicorn were fighting for the crown

The lion beat the unicorn all around the town.

    Some gave them white bread, and some gave them brown;

Some gave them plum cake and drummed them out of town."

  • one the over side of the 50 pence piece its like "Rule Brittannia" and she is an english queen :)

  • I'm from England and I never realised that whole thing with the 20 pence's xD ... Thanks! I was going to check some but after looking in my wallet, I have none =[ Lmao

  • i work for a bank and all the coin is changing this year, so u will have to do an update!

  • The Crest with the Lion and Unicorn is actually the Royal Coat of Arms.

The thing on the back of the 5p is a Thistle.

The warrior on the reverse of the 50p is actually Britannia, the physical representation of Britain, just like your Uncle Sam.

I think that's it. I love explaining our culture to people. lol

    Nice video.

  • DarwinO25

Ah yes now I can see that coin a little better I agree... Deany05 please dont feel bad about the pair of us reminising about our time at UKC (You will probably have realised we were in Darwin Hall) but its just great to see you enjoying what has become fond memories for Darwin adn I. Continue to have a great time...

    Aviator

  • Hi there, I'm the guy that told my friends from my UKC days about your videos, so blame me! I too have been enjoying seeing you taking the wrapping paper off England and Canterbury and UKC, just like I did when I was on my Junior Year Abroad there in 1982/3. Let me add my wishes to those of my friends for a great year.

By the way, Aviator, I can see in Deany's video that the pound coin with the balls is a thistle, representing Scotland! Not bad for an aging Yank, eh?

  • haha no problem at all. I'm glad my videos are bringing back such great memories for all of you! :D

  • The Cros and primrose is one of our ilands I think - It might even be gurensy as thier flag is and english red crass with a yellow corss inside the red one.

The tree and balls I think is a leak from Wales - but that is a guess.

Sorry but it only allows 500 characters so its in 3 bits!!!

  • This also work with the Notes and stamps too...

You probably have yet to go to Guernsey (One of the Channel Islands) but they have their own version of four coins and Notes and so does Scotland, Ilse of Man, Northern Ireland and the Shetlands etc...

Some of them has stuff round the side - Particuarly the One Pound coin...The warrior with the Shield is "Britannia"

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants - originally a quote by Sir Isaac Newton

  • Hi Deany05

Aviator here again. Loved this Vid. Reminded me of my friend who also found our currency interesting when we were in UKC... Hey think of this ... That 1982 20p coin may well have been the same one that we handled way back when we were at UKC!!!.... Yes the Queen was younger...

  • haha yeah, I thought the coins were really interesting. Thanks for the info about them! I did notice the writing on the sides of the coins too. There are different phrases on the sides of the 1 pound coins, but they seem to be in Latin or some other foreign language. :-P
