I felt obligated to youtube anything & everything on Samoa seeing my 2nd home has been devastated by a Tsunami. Then I felt intrigued (Nice way of saying being a faikakala)in reading all the 21 postings UP IN HURRR and some of you have lost the plot. ANYWHO, BACK TO ME. Ive always distance myself from my Samoan culture which Im NOT proud of, yet its amazing how the power of song can quickly draw you back. In my opinion, this song was composed and sung beautifully, Malo Aggie xo
@lavina69 The culture is alright but some of the people don't know how to carry themselves and it a shame that some of the people from their don't want to be called Samoans simply because of someone else's inappropriate actions or behavior. You should be proud for who you are! This island nation has been blessed from the beginning with the gods & the goddesses who look after it since the beginning of time. It is the heart of Polynesia and it's the only island in the pacific who has what I said
by the way there 20,000- 30,000 islands in the Pacific, The Pacific Ocean is 1/3rd of the earths Surface, you can fit North and South America along with China neatly in it's Ring of Fire- You must have read too many lies when you should have just burned them- Stop posin as Samoan LMAOOOOOO
Theres 237 million other brown Asians right to our left in Indonesia, I don't think we're gonna run out any time soon, thats the same population as the United States, that doesn't even include the rest of Asia
I am a proud Samoan Italian afakasi, born and raised in the village of Falealili Satalo. Coming from a real Samoan woman I thought this song was soooooo TACKY and utterly DREADFUL.When she said, "E paepae lou pau e le tete'e i le fue o au. Ma foliga palagi e le foi ai ma le fusi pau" (Which translates to "my skin color is white and I still get a spanking, with my white features I wouldn't get the belt") I thought to myself: give me a F'in BREAK.
The only white features she has is fair skin, other than that she looks like a pure hamo with a 5x2 wide load nose. No Samoan parent, or any parents in general, would ever think in their mind, "oh my child has blue eyes or blond hair and light skin color, I'm not gonna discipline them."
I understand her mother wrote or co/wrote that HIDEOUS song based upon the theme of this "light-skinned superiority" complex.
Now I know those lyrics are from a person who is a KUA BACK FROM WHO KNOWS WHERE, who has a disease called FIA PALAGI. I came across quite a few Samoans who are like this which I think is sad. There is no Afakasi, who has any class anyway, that would ever go around advertising that they are afakasi. Afakasis have enough decency not to use their mixed heritage just to elevate themselves above any other Samoan.
what the fuck are you talking about LMAOOO SAMOANS don't have a complex you idiot LMAOOO- This is south Pacific dumbass, the Asian Pacific Rim, you know the place with 4 Billion people you dumbass , learn a little before you act as if you're Samoan LMAOO
What's she's trying to say if you listen to all the words and put them together is that even though her skin is white and she looks "palagi", she's a teine Samoa because she grew up as one proven by the Samoan way of discipline, which is being spanked.
The lyrics of the song has been taken out of context but if you listen well, you will find that she is proud to be a Samoan, whatever her mixed blood may derive from...
she's half samoan.... and yes, she speaks samoan fluent and she's pure white too. lol
