Protestants changed the translation of the bible. “Hail, most favored one.” was originally “Hail full of grace.” in the original Greek. The Greek "kecharitomene" basically means "to be made full of grace and still full of grace" Hail is an honorific greeting, and if an angel uses it, this suggests that Mary deserves more honor than Protestants are willing to give Her.

There are 2 incidents in the New Testament where 'full of grace' is used. One refers to Christ (John 1:14) and one refers to Stephen (Acts 6:8). Nowhere does it say Mary was. Luke 1:28 says she was highly favoured, not full of grace. The problem arises from Jerome's translation into Latin which the Roman Catholic church uses. Someone should compare the Latin Vulgate to the originals and then correct the error.

Protestants changed the translation of the bible. “Hail, most favored one.” was originally “Hail full of grace.” in the original Greek. The Greek "kecharitomene" basically means "to be made full of grace and still full of grace" Hail is an honorific greeting, and if an angel uses it, this suggests that Mary deserves more honor than Protestants are willing to give Her.

There are 2 incidents in the New Testament where 'full of grace' is used. One refers to Christ (John 1:14) and one refers to Stephen (Acts 6:8). Nowhere does it say Mary was. Luke 1:28 says she was highly favoured, not full of grace. The problem arises from Jerome's translation into Latin which the Roman Catholic church uses. Someone should compare the Latin Vulgate to the originals and then correct the error.
