This song brings me back to my childhood. My parents are from UK, I was raised in Canada. The only reason I know this song is because my parents had a Rolf Harris record... It has been years since I heard any of his songs...but I will never forget them.
@theawesomestawesomer I'm glad you know what it is... It's sort of a not-so-compact compact disc. (Compared to having all the singers AND the band, it's QUITE compact.)
I passionately love this song for the nostalgia, etc...but have to laugh as an adult that many other adults believe in this Noah's Ark story. Oh, those poor people. It's just a really cute song, the end. :)
Hearing the Irish Rovers perform "The Unicorn" always brings a smile. I've loved their version of this from the first time I heard it in the late 60's.
The song, and the Irish Rovers, are absolutely timeless.
Not only was it high on the pop hits, but it was probably one of the reasons the Irish Rovers got a TV show... yes, a TV variety series! And the whole family used to sit around and watch it.
This was one of our favorite childhood songs! My sister, my step brother and I would make our stepmother play this one and "Ring Of Fire" over and over again.

Humpty back camels... hehehe. This was used as the ending song to the Ray Rayner Show, a local Chicago kids show in the late 60s/70s. :)

It is hard to believe (for anyone who is 21 or
younger) but I lived through that '60s decade
and will proudly testify...Yes, friends, there
truly was a time when songs like this actually
did become pop hits and score high on the
national 'top40' charts. Sad moment, wasn't
it, when the unicorns realized they'd
screwed up! boohoohoo!

Found it! Everyone and their dog has this song out,but this is the first one I found that was actually performed by the Rovers!
