Congrats to your mom I hope she can get that done soon. Its worth it. I just had it on Oct 9th. recovery is pretty good... But there is a time limit between the Approval and the day you have surgery, so please have her check with her insurance co to see how long that approval will last.

Troy is only one resource and there are a few other places you'll wanna do your research like attending workshops on lower surgery, consulting with surgeons (Miro specifically if you're interested). There's also a yahoo meta group rather active and for those seriously interested along with a group on The Men's Room.
