H$U$ now has over $200 MILLION in assets. But I am sure it goes to taking care of animals...and a good portion of donations help too...WRONG! Only 4 cents of every dollar donated goes to hands-on care of these precious beings. How do they get away with this?!?!?!? Look at their tax returns posted on their site, it will make you sad.
My dog was also acquired from an animal shelter. As a pup he was found in a crack-house, following a drug raid. Now, eight years later, our rednose pitbull is the most friendly, loving animal I have ever known. Like your dogs he has plenty of room to run on the my farm.
Thanks for the comment and for favoriting the video. Yeah, this pit bull mix is almost too friendly, thinking it's his duty to greet our neighbors everyday, wagging his tail like a madman. And as for his supposed killer instinct, just yesterday he caught a mole, then didn't know what to do with it. I had to rescue it and released it in the nearby woods.
What you stated sounds familiar. My wife and I didn't feel compelled to have our dogs tail and ears clipped, so the most dangerous part about him is his tail when he see's people or other dogs. His friendly character knows no bounds.
BTW, love the story about the mole. Most people think these animals are natural born killers. The media in my province has made them out this way, and they are now banned. People are the problem, not the breed.
Go to his comments and you will see at the very top that TMerman asked me to make a video showing why I preferred the country over the city. I made this for him, and if you read in my own comment section he's replied twice to thank me for posting it. All of this was done way before the video was ever featured.
sorry soem people dont take the time to OPEN the "about this video" and take the time to read it. They just want to watch the video and get it over with
I know what you mean about people not clicking to see the liner notes to the side. What amazes me also is how many times I get asked about the music played when I post that info at the end (on this video & my others). It leads me to think people don't bother watching to the very end or just have very serious ADHD issues. :) BTW, just so you know, I didn't give you all of those thumbs down. :-/
nah its okay, i just think i should get less judgemental, its wrong, i guess when i saw your video for the first time i just think i was in a bad mood or someting.
That's alright, plus I was the first one to comment on TMerman's video explaining how I prefer the country to cities. I mentioned the dogs and horses and other things, and he suggested I make a video showing what I was talking about. All of this was before it got featured. I had no idea his video was going to become so big. I mostly did this for him.
No, that's where I got this, only I downloaded it many months ago when I assume the longer version was still available. If their account on myspace doesn't offer you other options, I'm not sure what to tell you except to search other music sharing sites.
Yes, I wanted to know that song too! Thanx. it was in my head all night, I have watched your video over and over and shared it w/ my kids husband and friends.
AWW! dafttool.. that was such an awesome video. i really love and respect how you are taking in those animals. when i was younger it was my dream to do that. i think when i get older and retire i will eventually be able to do something similar to that. i think people forget how loving pets are just in general. the spca or humane society have millions of little critters to adopt! ppl.. why pay 400 or 500 dollars for some pure breed when u can get the same there?! i dunno hehe but thanks so much!
Thanks for your kind words, Jeff. ^_^ You know that you don't need to wait until you retire to get a pet, don't you? Although in your case, you will have to at least get done with uni and find somewhere on the globe to settle down. For now, Paris awaits. :D
Ohhhhhhhhhh, how I wish I had a large garden to have many animals!!! THANK YOU, this is a beautiful video and wonderful words describing your feeling about animals!!!
I love this video, It's so peaceful, and i love your description, I see you are a fellow animal lover, I love animals too.... But I cannot have any pets right now :'(
Yeah, the only time in my life I couldn't have any pets was in college. It just wasn't practical for me or fair to the animals. But I sure have made up for it since. Thanks for the kind comment.
i am in university now and really miss animal company. it is worse this year because we had to put our family dog down last spring and i am still missing him. i can't wait to catch up when i get the kind of lifestyle that allows it!
Yeah, the white dog certainly stole the show in this video. He's so happy go lucky. At night he likes to crawl in your lap like he did when he was a puppy and just crash. He really is just a big baby. :)
I am in Argentina now but I lived in the States for 22. I think it's funny that I own a smaller dog identical to the one in the video but Chiqui (short for Chiquita = Little One) has a black spot on the root of her tail. Some of her finger nails are black and others transparent!!! She is the greatest and so is Anaïs, our female cat; it's great to see how they play together. I have no farm though, just a one bedroom apt. I wish I had more space to be able to have many animals!
Shhh, I won't tell anyone. :) I used to have a bloodhound that won her championship in just two weekends. Beautiful animal who died after only 4 years. I'm a giant advocate of mix breeds. They just seem healthier and more likely to live longer.
I love watching them play. But to be perfectly honest, if I didn't have music dubbed over this, half the time you would be hearing playful growling over the stick. The darker dog has some issues about sharing.
Haha what a beautiful place you have there! It seems like your animals enjoy their time living at your farm :) I found it amazing how different it is in Central Florida versus my little part of the state, Miami/South Florida! It's nice to view all the parts of our area and how they live. The contrast between them is a nice touch. I love your video. Thanks for posting!
Yeah, there's more diversity to Florida than most people realize. We are much more than our beaches and Disney World. Of course, I'm a little hesitant to publicize that since growth is already pretty much our number one industry.
I thought I had commented on his, it must have slipped through. I love this video, it makes me feel at peace. I love ur dogs, and we both have a big affection for horses. How many horses u got again? Really nice video man, keep up the good work :)
You did respond, asking about the paint. But that's ok, I enjoy speaking with you. We now have 6 horses (they're all on here). Only one other dog and 2 cats didn't make the video.
Congrats on being featured. Your good fortune has lifted my numbers as well. Thanks for giving me this opportunity. ^_^
Hey, Cutie! It's been awhile. But even without the "main attraction", the vid is terrific. I have two Great Danes, so it looks like home. Keep em comin, and take care of yourself & the "family", too. :D
Hey man, I had no idea you posted this video days ago or I would have been here to check it out. Great video, your farm looks like a very nice place to be and how could I not like an animal lover....I have two rescue dogs and two rescue cats.
its great of you to answer with something other than the city! i live in a very rural area of ancient japan and was thinking about this very thing last night. i hope more people from the city can get out to the country and vise versa (but in to the city!)
and many kudos for your words about animals. we can all do so much to help :) peACE!
I think TMerman was a little surprised by how many comments he got in support of the country on his video that was supposed to celebrate cities. I definitely enjoy both, but if I had to choose between the two, the country would win. It's not as if the country is as isolated as it once was in the past. For instance, I'm on broadband right now. And several large cities are only a short drive away. Thanks for your comments. :)
Yeah, I hated not being around pets in college. It was just too hectic and uncertain a time in my life to have them. You're always coming and going, and it just seemed fairer to the pets to be left with your parents. And I was never around horses until after college so there's still time for you. ^_^ I certainly NEVER thought I would have horses, but upon graduation things just turned out that way. It was quite a surprise and not at all of my own doing. I fell into it.
Thanks. :-) Every little bit helps. And Duke is a trip. He still thinks he's a little puppy. He's the most hyper, happy dog I've ever had. He bounces all over the place. He's too sweet for his own good.
If I made you jealous, then my job here is done. I have succeeded. :) You showed us your bedmate, Nick, so I had to show you mine: the dark dog in the video. As I'm typing this, he's laying on my feet. ^_^
Oh gawd, I'm not really pleased with the name. I didn't name him: "Remy" and the white one is "Duke." The horses are: AJ, Odds, Oreo, Blister, Gitano, & Nico (none of whom I named). Remy is the thickest, sturdiest dog I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. He weighs just as much as the bigger dog. He's heavy like lead, and actually looks silvery like lead as well.
"That's an interesting name." How diplomatic of you. :-/ Yeah, my father named him. He never gets to name anything, so we left it to him. The dog was supposed to be his, but he took to me big time, wanting to follow me wherever I go. I had lost my dog to bone cancer and wasn't quite ready to replace her. As it turns out, he almost seems like her reincarnated. It's actually quite bizarre. She forced herself on me too and they share a lot of characteristics.
Oh my goodness this is really good - it doesn't even look like the house. They look so happy...as always. One question - where is my baby. You could have at least showed Moe a couple of times - he's just as cute just in a different way.
It doesn't look like the house, because that's the barn, you silly girl. I couldn't get Moe to come out. And I tried on several occassions. I'll keep on trying though.
She's a Paint named "Oreo." She had to be retired from polo due to a bad shoulder. Now she's quite content just being a pastured mare cozying up to the studly old gelding you see in the video. He's 31 years old btw.
Beautiful place you have there, Chris. This would be my favorite type of place also. They can keep the city. It's really awesome all the animals you have, especially being that they are all rescued. Of course I love living near the ocean too. Ever been to Rehoboth Beach?
Never heard of that beach. But I have the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Coast on each side of me. It's only a hour or so drive either way. I wouldn't dare say (on youtube) where my favourite beaches are in Florida though. They're secrets only a handful of locals know about. ;-)
shhh, I didn't mention it was Ocala. But it's pretty distinctive. Nowhere else in Florida is like it. :-)
I lived in St. Pete as a kid for one summer. It was all asphalt, concrete and old drivers. Our AC went out and I remember watching some candles melt from the heat. Fun times. :-/
Oh, wow! That was just an educated guess! But, that was because: everywhere on my island peninsula of Pinellas is paved over! Ugh!
That's why I have tried to make my yard a little oasis, to escape from the Big City. As much as I love the open water, I'm still gonna move to Montana, when I retire! :)
Brrrr. You can admire the majestic beauty through your chattering teeth. I would want to live in Canada if it weren't for the damn cold. I'm sooo spoiled. Maybe Global Warming will someday send me packing.
Boy does this video make me feel good. Well done, daffy.

God gave us dogs to soften the blow.

Dogs are awesome. :-) I've always had dogs, ever since I was little. Sometimes as many as 7, but usually 2 to 3.

Really nice song and video, it makes me want to quit my job and start a journey around the world, not that I have a job.

Maybe you can make your job journeying around the world. ;)

As long as there's room for sex, alcohol, & gambling, I'm in! Once I can get myself out of high school that is.

haha Yes, first things, first. ;)

They're secrets only a handful of locals know about. ;-)

I'm with you: I prefer Ocala to downtown St.Pete, anyday! :)
What a happy, healthy place for your furry friends! I'll bet they're the luckiest animals around! Thank you, from a fellow FL animal-lover! *hugs*

shhh, I didn't mention it was Ocala.
