  • Atleast here in Wisconsin we can open carry a loaded gun.Stupid what good is an unloaded gun going to do you when you need it.

  • These people carry an unloaded hand gun for self protection. The presence of a gun open for the public to see deters any criminals from robbing or doing any other criminal act. In California, I think you can have an open carry as long as it isn't loaded.

  • what a douche cop points it right at him ,, ALL GUNS ARE LOADED ALL THE TIME !!!!

  • Fuckin' pigs got no gun safety skills.

  • why would you want to carry an unloaded gun, are you trying to make some sort of fashion statement? LOL

  • @MeLlamoBradly he means to say hes checking if there's one in the chamber ... LOL

  • why the fuck would you want to carry an unloaded gun LOL

  • Now I'm confused. Is it against the law in California to have a loaded magazine in the gun? Or just to have one loaded into the chamber?

  • @Texaroni1231 I'm pretty sure you can openly carry a gun as long as there are no bullets in the actual gun, making it harmless.

  • @Texaroni1231 The magazine was unloaded.

  • This is great to watch. Nice to see both citizens and police knowing laws that not enough people know. That police officer had a great attitude, which is rarer than it should be.

  • why have an unloaded gun? XD just cant see the point of doing that if you having it for self defense XD

  • @21creed if one is in the chamber it is considered loaded you can have a full magazine no problem

  • WOW!!!!!!!! really? That cop doesnt know how to operate the slide of a glock?? Are you fucking kidding me? Not to mention he is issued a glock or a barreta which operates almost the same. Then thats really nice...I mean it, really nice. Yeah just point the gun at the person your inspecting. I think these citizens have better sense and more of a right to use and possess fire arms than that stupid fucking cop. I mean really.

  • @UrbanLeopard13 I almost crapped myself when i saw him point the gun at the guy by accident while checking to see if it was loaded!! GUN HANDLING 101: Never point a gun at something you don't intend to use deadly force on!!!!

  • @WhoCares14420 Exactly. It even say's in my Glock manual. Do not point the gun at anything you don't want to destroy. Those are the exact guidelines. Then they have an officer of the law. People paid by our tax dollars to be well informed and well equipped with knowledge on gun safety. Hell, those cops are supposed to keep us safe. Then he is treating that Glock like I've seen 10 year old first timers treat handguns. I think it's rediculous. If that was me I would have said don't point that @ me

  • and now the criminals know that you have a paperweight ....I thought police "help" people

  • Shame on ALL Californians that allow cops to violate their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. Take back your state already.

  • First of all what is the point of carrying a firearm if its not loaded. and oh my god he pointed the gun at the guy.... The slide was locked back and no fucking bullets in the gun and where do you think the gun is pointing when it is in the holster and the guy sits down. it points at every kid that walks by

  • perfect example of what being respectful gets you with the police. "i have no intention of showing you my identification". thanks for posting. i live in virginia and open carry every day and have this happen with much regularity. i have been harrassed and detained illegally and now carry a camera everywhere i go. uphold your rights people. never know how long they will be yours to have.

  • "i'd rather this not be posted anywhere" l0l gg

  • The cop points the gun at the guy, Not good.

  • can you have rounds in the mag? or is "loaded" just one in the chamber?

  • @geeber101 at the time this video was taken, it was legal to carry an unloaded firearm in plain sight in california. police could legally ask to inspect the firearm to verify if it was loaded, but had no legal right to search you. as of january 1, 2012, governor brown outlawed open carry.

  • @geeber101 rounds in the mag or in the chamber is loaded

  • Now that how every "incident" should be handled. everyone was calm and cool and he was really nice about the whole thing

  • PHENOMINAL! i love American citizens with BALL'S BRAINS... and VIDEO! ha ha ha excellent way to check the police officer and let him know you guys know your Constitutionally protected rights.. way to go.. thats a cool way to obide by the Law and still have the satisfaction of displaying the weapons that you LEGALLY purchased and LEGALLY own and can LEGALLY display openly on your person.. i'm MOTIVATED.

  • This is exactly how it should be done. Nice cop and coo civilians.

  • now thats how it should be done !!!

  • A good example of a good cop and decent people. These are the interactions we need to ensure our civil liberties are upheld, not douche bags being difficult just for the sake of it.

  • comifornia glad i live in the south where we can actually carry LOADED firearms. and no questions asked

  • cop checks firearm while pointing it at the carrier? idiot...

  • Mclovin getting checked?

  • @MrNosoytuyo ha ha ha mclovin lol

  • I think this is a good example on how to quickly and easily get through a police encounter. For the most part, cops are good, helpful people. They have a tough and dangerous job. I'm sure they appreciate courtesy. Obviously these men did their homework, so they had no reason to throw out the civil rights violation issue.

  • @BoomerQ cops being good on the most part? opinion

    helpful? opinion

    tough? no, dangerous? yes

i'm glad that policemen obeyed the law but thats one of the only completely legal and non aggressive checks i've seen on youtube.

  • while checking the chamber he had it aimed backward right at the girl in the pink shirt.. always keep that shit pointed down

  • you can tell this cop has been trained how to act while being filmed... if only they acted proper like that all the time

  • WOW this cop doesn't know how to safely handle a firearm or even understand how one operates.

  • Probably the most respectful officer I've seen.

  • i really wish most people would just comply with officers with their firearms.

  • @KingOfTheGnomes I think the same thing. Just be respectful, none of this "I have rights, I don't consent to search, but I will allow you to violate my rights and check my firearm " Give me a break. Just let them clear it and you can both be on your way. Once you start talking like that you are giving them a hard time. Respect and courtesy goes both ways.

  • hat's ol' 'Hugh' Hef in the blue shirt! Wonder if he had his slippers on...

  • Open Carry should and needs to be standardized all across the U.S. Open Carry in all states. Thats what our forefathers meant us to have when writing the constitution.

  • Wow you guys are nicer than you should be, I'd be pissed if an officer was treading on my fucking freedom and my rights like that... he doesn't need to know shit.

  • VOTE: Ron Paul 2012

  • Now, that one was a smart ass! Tell me to have a seat! Negro, Please! I'll sit when I damned well please to have a f****** seat! Wonder where he bought that Mustache, to complete his prick appearance that matches his attitude? Mother f***** looks like a Funeral Director!

  • This is the way to act towards police, IF you are going to open carry an unloaded gun which is still one of the most stupid things I have ever heard of. Weirdo's, but handled it fine.

  • @31488Andrew Do you think these citizens want to carry unloaded? Of course not, but that is the legislation that the corrupt politicians put into place. So if the government puts up road blocks or makes things more difficult for us, should we then just abandon it? Isn't that what the gov wants in the first place? And what do you mean by "this is the way to act towards police"?

  • @1775novten Very good point. Thank you for enlightening me. All I meant by that was that this is the way to act towards the police. They respected the Officer in the sense that he had a job to do and didn't give him grief. He then gave respect back. Worked out well.

  • Wow, the cop was totally respectful to you OC-er's, his only respectful request was that this video was not to be posted online...way to be a dick.....DICK.

  • well at LEAST the cop wasnt an asshole

  • Hold on while I load my magazine, insert into mag well, pull slide back and release. Ok, now I can defend myself.

  • @jecm21088 Much better having NOTHING at all right?

  • @pugilist102 Probably so. Criminals don't obey the law, so they pack hot and concealed. Why should they fear open carriers? In fact, open carriers make a promising target, because their guns could easily be taken from them. The best way to carry is concealed, but I don't think California makes that easy. My advice to badace is to move to a less tyrannical state.

  • @jecm21088 You have a point...I was hoping CA would move towards CCW but the opposite happened instead. It's nearly impossible to get a permit here.

  • @pugilist102 I'm really sorry. If it were me, I would move to another state. If that's not an option, the best you can do is try to change minds: organize protests and seek to influence your state legislators. Needing a permit to conceal a weapon goes sharply against the intent of the 2nd amendment. Pistols, while a lot smaller today, existed (as flintlocks) in the days of the Founders and could be concealed then too.

  • cant carry in texas openly :(

  • @technofreak928 Which is crazy, because Texas is portrayed as such an American and patriot State. Guess we know that is not the case.

  • @1775novten eveyone carries but democrats from california would freak out when they came around and call the cops for no reason

  • the just passed a new law against open carry here in California

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @EvendimataE cool?

  • So you dont have to show id??

  • @tastelessbattery No, why would they?

  • @tastelessbattery Not unless you are suspected of committing a crime - Supreme Court has ruled on this numerous times, but police will often lie to you and say you are required and will threaten you with arrest.

  • you can have a mag with ammo just not in the firearm but 2012 with change that for handguns. idk why you would be glad to trow away an american freedom. thats ok just wait till you see open carry with shotguns and rifles

  • so glad this is going to be banned in 2012, bye bye open carry.

  • good and polite officer .... but whats the sence of carrying a unloaded pistol even the clip was empty ... is that just calli law ? not trying to start a fight just my $.02 .i live where we can open carrry or conceal and carry .. sorry dont know much about calli..

  • @1rugerlcp aw man you're lucky. Here in california its open carry, cannot be loaded, but you can have ammo in a mag unloaded.

  • Good officer, very professional and very polite.

  • Sunnyvale is a shit hole. Going there is the worst way to spend any day.

  • great job keep up the good work. as annoying as it is being "interrupted" for doing nothing wrong that officer was polite and professional.

  • I feel he was polite. mabby it was because he was on camra but all in all if they always end like this then we have a good chance of wining the public over to suport open carry.

  • GUNS DONT KILL PEOPLE BULLETS KILL PEOPLE @_@

  • Ok what the hell good does an unloaded firearm do. The only thing your protecting is your submissive ego.

  • @charleskro1 Doesnt take long to shove a mag in and slide it back.

  • That's freedom and education.

Vote Ron Paul 2012 if you want more of this.

  • "Whats the point in carrying a unloaded weapon?" come one guys it only takes 3 seconds and then it's a fully loaded weapon....

  • @chelashthepally

3 seconds and you're shot twice in the chest.

  • I've seen maybe 2 good cops in my entire life. This guy was a total duesche. "Oh uh, I feel like were in an interview."

  • whats the point? these fags think trying to look cool carrying empty guns? fuckin stupid monkeys

  • what's the point of carrying an unloaded gun...

these folks are gonna get shot by people carrying loaded concealed guns...

  • I'm just wondering, why is it if it's legal that guys are always getting harassed? I guess the law is not clear, or the law is not clear for the law enforcement. Maybe it's time for this to get some clarity. Amendment is what it is, to amend. But why is it not so clear? Somebody needs to get sued every time you get harassed for no prior reason.

GUN LAW ONLY APPLIES TO LAW ABIDING CITIZENS....NOT FOR CRIMINALS, NOT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT!

  • These guys are the reason the crime rate is so high in Sunnyvale.

  • @benny7690 law abiding citizens who open carry unloaded fire arms don't contribute to crime rates with the possible exception of reducing it. The encounter was both respectful and calm. It's nice to see officers and citizens who know the law.

  • @Tackyshot0 valid point. The fact that they even need to carry firearms in Sunnyvale shows how bad the whole area is. Do not go there, worst place in California if you ask me

  • @benny7690 nah man open carrying a firearm isn't an indicator. Its just people who want to exercise their 2nd amendment right and that's cool. I personally conceal carry so i don't have to deal with constantly being checked. Its really about the idea of better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

  • @Tackyshot0 I'll exercise my second amendment right by pulling a gun on anyone I see in Sunnyvale thats what I'll do. I feel I haven't been clear, Sunnyvale is a bad place.

  • Omg I can't believe you guys carry guns around like that. America & Australian are so different. I don't think I could live in a society like that, I'd be so paranoid about a shoot out or something crazy like that going down! Too many crazy people these days!

  • Did he say his name was Officer Rivieri? lol

  • Hi thanks for the videos! I am a bit confused though about the check. Your allowed to open carry them but they can't have bullets in them!? What would happen if they were loaded? Why do you guys own/carry guns without ammo rendering them pointless? Thanks for your response!

  • Can you keep ammo on your persons just not in the firearm? If not, what's the point in even carrying a firearm? That's like showering with no water.

  • if i plan to open carry how old do i have to be and do i need like a permit to when i buy a gun and do i have to show it to the police or no?

  • @MrHieddie what state are you in? I live in Michigan and the Open Carry age is 18 which I actually do after school,no permit needed. The law here says that you need to be 21 to buy a gun from a FFL(Federal Licensed Dealer), but my gun was "passed" down to me by my dad. When a cop stops you for open carrying (happens to me multiple times) you do not need to provide any ID what so ever. Unless your being detained you should have the right to your secured belongings on your person. What ever lie...

  • @SaiVihtooMyint hello the state i live in is california los angeles and im 18, and thanx for the info man :)

  • @MrHieddie what ever lies they tell you don't believe it them, trust your rights. Only in California as far as I'm aware has a 12031 E-check which lets officers check citizens firearm for being unloaded, its totally optional but some choose to check others not. I would be happy to tell you more depending on your states laws.

  • AWESOME COP GIVE THE GUY A RAISE!!!

  • I fucking love you guys. love you. ; )

  • No Id required.

  • I haven't seen a check yet....on youtube...where the gun being checked is actually loaded... What's the point in open carry if the gun isn't loaded???

Is that part of the open carry? the gun cannot be chambered?

  • @popcorncrow No, that is not part of the law. Are you saying there was no bullets in the magazine, or none in the chamber? Not having a round chambered is what's called, "Safe" Most people I know who carry don't have a round chambered. That's called "Israeli Carry" because that is how the Israeli military carry, unless in combat. Same with the US military, or at least it was back when I was a soldier.

  • 1. You guys live in Sunnyvale, one of the safest cities in America.

    2. You don't need to carry around guns

    3. Seems like you're only carrying them around for the sake of carrying them, because you believe it's cool or something.

    4. Sure, you have the right but don't go flaunting your weapons out like you guys are better than everyone else.

  • @danieltheguitarist I live in Sunnyvale. It is very safe... sure they are a little dickish to the cops but it is like the tide.. push in push back.. if you do not push back you lose ground. I have open carried.... not a lot. I am not a jerk to cops, they know we are not the problem, but their boss's boss has to be firm on guns. It is a PR play on both sides in reality. Do you really only want military and police to have weapons?

  • @danieltheguitarist shut the fuck up and suck my gun toting dick, shit head.

  • @danieltheguitarist Okay, listen, I don't like your opinions, so I am telling you to NOT EXERCISE THAT RIGHT because I don't like it.

How do you feel about that? Same thing. Both are rights under the law.

  • Nice Beretta! That's the one I want someday.

  • I couldnt deal with this BS.What a violation of your 2nd amendment rights. I can carry openly or concealed and always locked and loaded all the time and couldnt stand it being any other way.

  • dumb fuck cop has no idea about handling a firearm.. first rule dont point a weapon at someone whether it be loaded or unloaded

  • @MrRugbybitch he never did?

  • i luv how these attention douch-bags are all cordial with the peace officer but their actions and words just reinforce the fact that they are all muthafuckin' pussy attention whores .. enjoy for another 8 weeks MOFO's! LOL.

  • What's the opposition to showing ID when asked?

  • @borderraven They have no right to ask for your ID if your not breaking the law.Its your rights.

  • @shadowr434, I agree they have no "right", but we delegate authority to them (See the BADGE), and the LAW SAYS they CAN ASK for your ID. You do have the POWER to REFUSE, if you accept the consequences.

That said, I prefer a CCW, so we are not harassed.

  • The police dont like it when other people have guns as well. It makes them feel less special.

  • @MaxamillianArturo, Cops would like to know and have control over who has the guns, but their logic fails because concealed carriers, legal or not, can be anybody in the crowd.

  • just wondering im confused why they even fucking carrying guns around ?? think they tough and cant fight for shit or .... this is a serious question too

  • @IZuWIZme, What's your point? You have a right to freedom of expression, so you talk, but if you have a right to wear a gun on your person, you shouldn't?

  • With AB 144 becoming law, Unloaded Open Carry of handguns is now illegal except where loaded open carry is legal, and also in public lands (National Forests, BLM, etc.) where firearms are permitted.

  • @torontothegood, so then Open carry loaded is legal?

  • im not from the states so what is an open carry

  • Folks, I have to say something about this. Handling weapons (Loaded or Unloaded) in public places is dangerous. A little slip of the finger and you could fire off a bullet into god knows where. Its not safe to be handling weapons in public places like this. The safest place for any weapon is in the holster. We are in more danger of beng shot by somone getting their pistol inspected on the sidewalk than some" crazy gun nut " shooting us.

  • @Realman333007, Thumbs way up on that. I prefer Shall Carry Concealed or not at all.

  • crazy how people can carry pistols on the street in the usa.

  • wow we have a reasonable cop, refreshing

  • Bottom Line = Yes, some people OC for the purpose of showing off.

Other Bottom Line = CC is a better option.

Last Bottom Line = OC is Constitutional no matter what the Calilunatics think...and AB 144 will be overturned eventually.

Last Last Bottom Line = We live in a world where Idiots have guns, so why shouldn't the sane people?

The Right to Own and Bear is protected (upheld by the Supreme Court every time it has been on their Docket).

Where I live I can carry it on my head if I choose.

  • "look at me... i'm a little kid packing a pistol unloaded, i'm so cool"

bunch of tards... nice way to tell criminals that you're their first target.

  • Comment removed

  • oorah

  • lookie me everyone ... i'm packin' heat!!!

please talk to me! i'm a jerky jerk!

  • @torontothegood

    agree with you.

  • You can refuse when cameras are rolling. But if the cameras aren't rolling then it is going to go down a little differently!!

  • I'm confused. So you don't have to show ID? you can just refuse like that?

  • @o9yamyrider So long as you're a free man you can refuse.

  • @o9yamyrider In open carry states the police have no right to ask for ID unless you are in a vehicle or there is probable cause you have broken the law.... Probable cause is not having a weapon on display which is legal in this open carry state.

  • @Plsd2beme - Sorry my friend but you're mixing up what the law is. Police have every right to ASK for ID. The difference is that they can't REQUIRE you to identify yourself unless you're operating a motor vehicle or they have REASONABLE SUSPICION (not probable cause which is a higher standard) that you committed a crime. Police can ASK all they want, that doesn't mean you have to comply. It's a simple but important difference.

  • @o9yamyrider Yeah, I think you are thinking of the Soviet Union from back in the 80's... Oh, I forgot, the USA is turning into that.

  • @o9yamyrider correct

  • at least he was nice about it, some cops would go ape over it

  • The good ol State of California has passed the law for open carry to be illegal starting Jan 2012 so pricks like these who have nothing better to do and film cops hoping to catch them "violating people's rights" can no longer do so...bunch of losers. Officer was very professional!

  • you guys are all acting like pricks!

  • "The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good".

    -GEORGE WASHINGTON

  • A good cops mouth is his best tool, wise, smart cop. But why carry if you can't have it loaded? That sounds kinda stupid if this is for self defense.

  • @GeorgiaShooter You can't have a round hot in the chamber, or in the mag (if fitted) but you can carry loaded magazines ready. The obvious downside, you have to load a clip while some thugs poppin' rounds off at you...

  • @P1LGY Thanks for clearing that up. Too bad the bad guys don't carry theirs unloaded but isn't that why gun laws are stupid in most cases, just saying. A people that can't protect themselves are probably not worth saving. I f I really felt in danger I would not be open carrying, I'd just carry concealed and be real careful. I could probably be safe for decades without anyone being any wiser.

  • @GeorgiaShooter Same, I think concealed is definitely best, the only downside is it doesn't expose non-gun owners to firearms, so when they do see one, they're like "he's got a gun!" and call the cops! Over here in the UK were told to keep firearm ownership private! I.e. They're basically telling me to hide my hobby in case it scares someone, and in response to that, I make an effort to tell everyone how great a hobby shooting is!

  • @P1LGY You have the right idea I think there are effective ways to educate people and acclimate them to legal, responsible gun owners. There are 400,000 others like me in the state of Ga carrying legally and we account for basically none of the crime, no collateral shootings and zero negative incidents. The media distorts the real facts and very ignorant people scream the loudest. One home invasion or ATM robbery would teach them a cold hard lesson. Police can't be everywhere, we must own, train

  • good cop tho he deserves a raise

  • Gun = Fist of the Coward

  • @DinkiDiDude kinda hard to physically fight to defend against someone who is carrying a gun illegally...in this day in age a fist fight is no longer existant.

  • yeah, kinda silly to sell weapons to civilians in the first place......

  • @DinkiDiDude still doesn't justify your ridiculous assertion that law abiding citizens who carry guns legally are cowards...go to any ghetto or barrio near you and see if your fist can get you out all in one piece.

  • @chingon711 haha yeah righto, ill book a trip to afghanistan the next day

  • @DinkiDiDude Oh yeah, great idea, don't let civilians have them, but criminals can have them... you're a genius...

  • @DinkiDiDude You're just trolling. It is customary to defend one's self with the amount of force necessary to match the bad guy. And it's funny but when people spout off their ignorance they usually attack the law abiding citizens who in fact make up less than one percent of all shooting incidents. Cops can't protect everyone at all times. Citizens that vote themselves out of the right to defend are not worth saving.

  • Why give him permission to check? What could he do if you said you weren't giving consent to his search?

  • @filoIII In California to carry openly it has to be unloaded. Must give permission to check that its not loaded. The cop was cool. I HATE THE POLICE but more cops should be like that little piggy.

  • Go ahead and have a seat! What if I said no I like to stand? I tell you it does not get that good where the criminal element is walking around like that. The time wasted screwing with these people he could be helping someone that needs it.

  • Nice cop, but his muzzle control is terrible.

  • @shaunhill13 Slide was open, no magazine, no bullet in the chamber, weapon 100% safe. I know that what he done was wrong though, However it doesn't matter there was no danger....

  • @ZzRvXzZ I don't know where you learned how to handle guns, but I always ALWAYS treat a gun like it's loaded because of Murphy's Law. According to the Air Force "Airman's Manual" AFMAN 31-229: "Never point your weapon at anyone or anything you're not willing to shoot. Consider all weapons as loaded."

  • @shaunhill13 cool story bro...

i know that... but it doesn't matter, it doesn't need to be followed 100000% of the times.. you little firing range maggot.

  • Wow this cop i really respect full! Good cop.

  • That cop's muzzle control is awful. He essentially had the first guy's pistol pointed at him while checking it, and while checking the second guy's pistol, he had it pointed down the street at god knows who. Congrats on breaking two of the four fundamental rules of handling firearms (ie. treat ALL guns as loaded ALL the time, and don't ever point a gun at someone/something you're not willing to shoot).

  • @rudeboystu69

yeah... i know these rules and i follow then...

but it is only used to teach new guys to firearms.. it isn't necessary to follow them when the magazine is out, and the pistol is open, with no fucking bullet in the chamber, you safety nazi

  • @ZzRvXzZ I strongly disagree. You saying that basic, common sense firearms safety is just for new shooters is ridiculous. The point is to make it a subconscious habit to NEVER point a gun at someone you're not willing to shoot so that accidents don't happen. Many people have been injured or killed because a veteran shooter has become too complacent and failed to treat their guns with the respect they deserve. Bottom line is, the rules are there for a reason, and there's no expiry date on them.
