@meapyness Frankly speaking, there is something 'wrong' with everyone (myself and you included). On another note, people will like what they will like.
I especially love the segment where she talks about having her palms read right before "Drum Dance." Any chance of uploading that? It was titled "Old Hat."
Hadn't seen again that movie since its release that year.
I was so shocked at watching it that i could say no word during all the show.
Obviously, it is an intelligent and complex art masterpiece, so it was no commercial at all. There is no way to find a copy of the feature movie in the market, anyplace in the world.
Thanks youtube I can recover this pieces of my memory.
I am sooo Laurie Anderson fan, have been for so many years now. I am so impressed that she maked that magnet violin, that shows how great artist Laurie is. Even today, as she tell herself (there are no use of multimediashow these day) are her great. I love you Laurie.
Thanks for posting this!!! Glad to hear you are posting Radar, that is so coo! I was lucky enough to have seen this concert / tour and let me tell you it was a mind blowing experience I'll never forget. <3
@PaulR986 I understand your point of view completely. I often struggle with finding the line between egotistical art and art with purpose. It's a fine, fine line. I struggle with that line in my own art as a learning student artist. A lot of "rubbish" in art is only rubbish without context though. You know, like the urinal on the wall. Rubbish some might say. But you have to look at the time period & the artist and what sorts of boundaries are being broken and take a second look.
bianary.... WOW! when i 1st saw this... I SOoooooo didnt get ANY of this about the bianary code being the building blocks of tecnology! I knew she was AWESOME then. Now that i TOTALY understand she is even more so NOW!
1) Good Evening 2) Zero and One 3) Excellent Birds 4) Old Hat 5) Drum Dance 6) Smoke Rings 7) Late Show 8) White Lily 9) Sharkey's Day 10) How to Write 11) Kokoku 12) Radar 13) Gravity's Angel 14) Langue D'Amour 15) Talk Normal 16) Difficult Listening Hour 17) Language Is a Virus 18) Sharkey's Night
Thank You SO much! Believe it or not, I'd FORGOTTEN how **ckin awesome LA is!? Luckily, helped by a friend, stumbled upon some recent work and now this. And there are folks here, who saw the whole thing live! :D Was there a drum dance on HOTB, with drum machine triggers on LA's body? I've only got the CD...
The first time I saw Laurie Anderson in concert was this tour in 1984. HOTB captured much of that amazing concert experience, though there were a few differences. With the exception of the "A Film By Laurie Anderson" title projection, this clip is exactly like I remember the St. Louis concert starting. The buzzer during the 0 and 1 flashes at the end was LOUD! Thank you for posting this clip! Love you, Laurie, but PLEEEEASE release this on DVD!
Would you like to see more? It's NOT availible on DVD. I hope Laurie doesn't mind me posting some cuts. But, it's an important work. LAURIE WHERE ARE U?
i got turned 2 laurie back in the 80's and hey do what u do however there is one cut by her that i am dehydated trying to find. it is one of the funkiest songs i ever heard. i am at wits end searching 4 this cut from my youth back at unc. i cant sing it 4 u nonthe tube so im just sayin
Thanx for helping me decide which one's I was going to post next. 'RADAR' and 'Sharkey's day" coming up this weekend for you. I also have 'Sharkey's night' too.
So glad this is back up!!!

I remember seeing a clip of this as a teenager in the 80's & it just seemed stupid then.
Saw all of HOTB in a theatre in the 90's and was impressed, but mystified.
Seeing it all again for the first time, it makes complete sense & it's brilliant!
