"And then there's Maude! And then there's Maude!"

  • it hard to belive 30 some year no one had vcr in there homes yet

  • This vid is fun!

  • This is like a mirror version of my own life. Even down to the Star Wars story writing - I remember sending my story to the SW fan club with some drawings. It wasn't a very good story though. I'm sure George read it and eventually turned it into The Phantom Menace.

  • you fucking jack ass wuit posting stupid ass videos of star wars all im trying to do is just figure out wich one is the first star wars that came out by release date but... thanks to douch bags like you i have yet to do this

  • @93jumpman Lol. YOU MUST BE NEW HERE. It's IV, V, VI, I, II, III.

  • I have to confess, I refused to see the film. I wouldn't budge. I wouldn't

give in to the hype. But in 1978, I finally went to see it when it was

    re-released.

  • If I'm a nerd because I love Star Wars, then so be it! I couldn't care less what people think.

  • @Kaffyboy That's right brother! Same goes for me, except I like both Star Trek & Star Wars.

  • it sucks that back then star wars was considered cool and everyone loved it now your a nerd if you love it WTF :(

  • @Teeheehee093 man thanks for saying what ive said for years back then the cool kids were into star wars while the nerds were star trek fans

  • Thks for your personal memories of Star Wars..as a guy who saw it in 77 as 7yr old i strongly identify with everything your saying..i actually caught that "making of" special lol...although it kind of pushed my 8yr old attention span at certian points also the Holiday Special another unforgettable SW moment (be it good or bad lol) as kids back then we were ABSOLUTELY straved for anything SW (remember the Donnie and Marie SW show) also had that board game ...thks again for great memories

  • i LOVED Star Wars Holiday Special!

  • Great documentary man!!! Love that Star Wars trailer especially the lightsabers without the effects added!!

  • This vid RULZ! Good jod dude

  • This is really interesting, so good to have some cultural context. Rather than just another documentary of movie footage and deleted scenes it's all really well-fitted together. Great stuff!

  • yes, i too was there, i was a senior in HS at the time

  • the first trailer of star wars is awesome since the movie wasn finished yet and you can actually see it.

I whish iu would have been there in 1977 like you!

  • Ok, no matter how much you make fun of the prequels which defiantly had their flaws, it doesn't compare to the star wars Christmas! I saw clips of it, and I was wondering if I did drugs beforehand.

  • i tought it was a movie

  • indiana jones and the space crusade :)

  • "Happy Life Day pal"...lol Harrison Ford looked like he wanted to vomit

  • hey you stole my childhood !!!! everything you said, applies to me (except i didn't have the cool playset). i was 10 when i saw it. but yes, i had the trading cards, i had the same r2d2 figure (still own it), missed the holiday special..etc.. i think you really were me !! are you sure you're not me !! later

It was dreadful! Oh, please spare us all the recape of this dire show! And what is wrong with the colour, they look like there all going to throw up!

  • Wow I joined the Star Wars fan club wow took a few weeks for it to arrive in the mail from the U.S.

  • I didn't become a Star Wars fan until 2005 (when I turned ten)when I saw Revenge of the Sith.I'm glad my friends talked about Star Wars or else I wouldn't have seen the movies.

May be the Force with you!

  • Awesome documentary man! I wanna make something like this. Man do I have stories to tell you about Star Wars. My first expereince was at the re-release of it, I was just 7 or 8..but when I saw that badass star destroyer engulf the screen over that little republic cruiser, I was in awe the whole time...ever since then, Star Wars became a huge part of my life. It's the reason I go to college.

  • What's that song that plays at 3:22?

  • My friends aren't into Star Wars, which makes me lonely.

  • I think this is one of the best star wars documentaries I've seen.

  • 6:26 hoooly shit!

  • min 6 :20 "No matter how different we appear, we`re all the same in our struggle against the powers of evil and darkness"

Thats a pretty positive message for kids. Whens the last time you heard something like THAT on primetime ?

  • I never knew that there was an early animated series.

  • leia or carrie is beuatiful

  • May 25,1977....

Star Wars made its debut in US Theatres, hard to believe it's been almost 32 years,I was 4 when it came out,I love Star Wars!!!

  • Thats awesome, I had the some of the cards, the comics and a handful of figures but could never afford to buy anything else being only 7. I remember seeing my first clip of the movie on some afternoon TV show in the UK and it was like magic, utter magic that knocked my sense of imagination into another dimension.

  • "I had the some of the cards, the comics and a handful of figures but could never afford to buy anything else being only 7" - wild

Dude, I sold my bike for 50 bucks when I was 6 to get Star Wars toys and sh&%.

Then I started a lemonade stand to get

the Death Star action playset. Finally I

sold my dads Black Label whiskey for 40 bucks to get the X-Wing Fighter / Tie Fighter space ships. Lucas turned me into a fu%$in junkie maaan!!!

  • Brilliant work Todd. You should be proud.

  • I guess you finally made your Star wars movie! :)

Thanks for all the lovely memories about the holiday special and everything! I still have it somewhere on tape which I used to record the sound since we didn't have a vcr... LOL

  • I saw Star Wars Six times. You forgot to mention that kids had seen it so many times in movie theaters that they would recite the words out loud ruin the movie for first timers.

  • I love this video

  • Hey thanks alot for the comment! I appreciate it.
