This is like a mirror version of my own life. Even down to the Star Wars story writing - I remember sending my story to the SW fan club with some drawings. It wasn't a very good story though. I'm sure George read it and eventually turned it into The Phantom Menace.
you fucking jack ass wuit posting stupid ass videos of star wars all im trying to do is just figure out wich one is the first star wars that came out by release date but... thanks to douch bags like you i have yet to do this
Thks for your personal memories of Star Wars..as a guy who saw it in 77 as 7yr old i strongly identify with everything your saying..i actually caught that "making of" special lol...although it kind of pushed my 8yr old attention span at certian points also the Holiday Special another unforgettable SW moment (be it good or bad lol) as kids back then we were ABSOLUTELY straved for anything SW (remember the Donnie and Marie SW show) also had that board game ...thks again for great memories
This is really interesting, so good to have some cultural context. Rather than just another documentary of movie footage and deleted scenes it's all really well-fitted together. Great stuff!
Ok, no matter how much you make fun of the prequels which defiantly had their flaws, it doesn't compare to the star wars Christmas! I saw clips of it, and I was wondering if I did drugs beforehand.
hey you stole my childhood !!!! everything you said, applies to me (except i didn't have the cool playset). i was 10 when i saw it. but yes, i had the trading cards, i had the same r2d2 figure (still own it), missed the holiday special..etc.. i think you really were me !! are you sure you're not me !! later
04:21 I think hes still unstilted by it to this day LOL I was kinder spared that horror I did however see it youtube which I kinder skipped though or rather watch something less retreated. It was dreadful! Oh, please spare us all the recape of this dire show! And what is wrong with the colour, they look like there all going to throw up!
I didn't become a Star Wars fan until 2005 (when I turned ten)when I saw Revenge of the Sith.I'm glad my friends talked about Star Wars or else I wouldn't have seen the movies.
Awesome documentary man! I wanna make something like this. Man do I have stories to tell you about Star Wars. My first expereince was at the re-release of it, I was just 7 or 8..but when I saw that badass star destroyer engulf the screen over that little republic cruiser, I was in awe the whole time...ever since then, Star Wars became a huge part of my life. It's the reason I go to college.
Thats awesome, I had the some of the cards, the comics and a handful of figures but could never afford to buy anything else being only 7. I remember seeing my first clip of the movie on some afternoon TV show in the UK and it was like magic, utter magic that knocked my sense of imagination into another dimension.
Thanks for all the lovely memories about the holiday special and everything! I still have it somewhere on tape which I used to record the sound since we didn't have a vcr... LOL
I saw Star Wars Six times. You forgot to mention that kids had seen it so many times in movie theaters that they would recite the words out loud ruin the movie for first timers.
HAHAHA Bea Arthur was in the Holiday Special!!!

I have to confess, I refused to see the film. I wouldn't budge. I wouldn't
give in to the hype. But in 1978, I finally went to see it when it was
re-released.

Dude, I sold my bike for 50 bucks when I was 6 to get Star Wars toys and sh&%.
Then I started a lemonade stand to get
the Death Star action playset. Finally I
sold my dads Black Label whiskey for 40 bucks to get the X-Wing Fighter / Tie Fighter space ships. Lucas turned me into a fu%$in junkie maaan!!!
