Cool man, but everyone is different and likes different things. Some people enjoy the slow life of North Dakota. I for one plan on returning back to NoDak once I retire. I have been all over the US, saw some cool scenery, met some interesting people, but I will always be looking forward to return HOME to North Dakota.
Being I'm from long island, new york. Driving through this state was waayyy different..I was going to canada and tried the drive through North Dakota and oh my god what a rural boring state...I can't beleive people actually live there. It's like a different country..a poor low populated country lol
I'm working near minot pouring concrete on new homes and am from mpls. It's not ND that bugs me, it's the small town existence. Reasonably friendly people here, but Minnesotan's are more outgoingly friendly. Everyone opens doors for eachother here. Drivers are very absent minded though. I could take or leave the people here, bet I long for forests and lakes. Oh btw, plenty of north dakotan's come to MN to work. We are not "stealing" your work. We help you. You help us.

I live in Fargo, North Dakota and I don't have a problem with it. The really only bad part is trying to find something to do other then freeze in the winter and not drowning in the spring. Other then that all we have to do is take our rich ass's over to Minnesota and mooch of their poor ass's then buy up all of their lake front property and live their the whole rest of the year. So guy form Western Washington you can just take all of that and stick it up you cold rainy Washington weather's ass.

well my sister had someone in her college that was from arizona and it was summer and he was wearimg a jacket so it might be cold for a long time but you will get used to it and the hottest it will ever get is usually in the 80's and sometimes in the 90's i hope you love ND
Like many I'm considering the job opportunities in ND. I was born and raised in Arizona so I have NO IDEA what cold weather is. I can take the heat (today it was 116), but the coldest I have ever felt was maybe in the "teens" (This is coming from someone who wears shorts year round).. It just sucks because you're driving west to east and it's during winter everything is blah when it's covered in snow. If you want to see different things in ND then drive from the south to north especially in the summer it's absolutely gorgeous. I understand though I had to drive back and forth from Bismarck to Moorhead every couple of weeks when I was in college and the landscape is very plain driving east.

I'm from Wisconsin, living in North Dakota and here are my quarrels:
-Dirt Roads (didn't know these existed in first world countries, lol)
-People drive slow (even though the speed limit is 10mph faster than anywhere else, ppl go slower, why?)
-1/2 roads never plowed
-A High School w/ 100 ppl is NOT big... in facts it's really small!
-Fargo and Grand Forks is a large town... not a city!
-Nobody knows how to swim
-6' of snow, but no hills to ski on (in the eastern 3/4 of the state anyway)

Like many I'm considering the job opportunities in ND. I was born and raised in Arizona so I have NO IDEA what cold weather is. I can take the heat (today it was 116), but the coldest I have ever felt was maybe in the "teens" (This is coming from someone who wears shorts year round).. Have to agree with the guy who posted it. Other than the bigger cities along the Interstate, ND is a backward pile of broken asphalt, extreme weather & no culture. Unless you have actually spent time off the interstate you have no idea what you're talking about. It looks like a mid 30's mining camp during the great depression. The idiots in ND have no clue on building to even standards which have been in place since the 50's, the infrastructure is shit. People can be nice, but their stupid.

By watching this video I've realized two things. One: some people just can't recognize beauty even when they're surrounded by it. They're too used to the city to appreciate ND. And Two: By watching this vlog all about how much of a "hell hole" my state is and you contemplating why anyone would want to live here has made me realize that i'm in love with North Dakota. I've wanted to live in Seattle ever since I was a little girl. But I think I would miss this wonderful state too much to ever leave

It just sucks because you're driving west to east and it's during winter everything is blah when it's covered in snow. If you want to see different things in ND then drive from the south to north especially in the summer it's absolutely gorgeous. I understand though I had to drive back and forth from Bismarck to Moorhead every couple of weeks when I was in college and the landscape is very plain driving east.

Binge drinking and smoking copious quantities of weed gets one through the winter months (July and Aug. were the only snow-free months thus far this year 2010). You can rationalize to tip the scale in either direction, however, ND sucks in so many areas.... I would suspect this is the reason it is a good place to raise a family, but the reason for the outward migration of it's graduates.

What I would give to be where you were in this video. I'm from the south where the weather is warm, but I'm in love with North Dakota and have never even had the opportunity to visit. To me, this "boring wasteland" that you see is the most exciting piece of land to be seen in the entire U.S.

Your economy is higher what there is of it' North Dakota has no debt because they have nothing to spend their tax money on. You have less problems because you have less of everything really nothing to brag about.
