*face palm* I don't agree with them that they should ignore and underestimate science compleatly. Science is great because it is changing, because it updates and improves. However I do agree that science can't answear any ethical questions we have. They should get thier facts straight. A virus technicly does not count as something living. It doesn't even have a cell. If a human has a Y chromosome, he will be male. Normally there is XY for males and XX for females.
I can't decide if I want to "like" it because it just shows the lack of logic or if I want to "dislike" it because of the sheer volume of idiocy... Choices, choices... (pun intended)
Oh great. You justify one murder with another. Not only are you showing no reason you have no morals you and your "ilk" Kill the victim seems to be your motto.
The truth is everybody uses science went it supports their case. There are conservative science deniers and there are liberal science deniers aswell. But the thing that bothers me is that only the conservatives appear in the media as "ignorant hillbillies from the appalachian mountains".
Wow talk about going backwards...Lean forward Planned Parenthood..I am pro life because of Science....you just became a joke...I was on the walking the wall before with this...Now I say defund planned parethood because THEY ARE LIARS....If they want funds how about cutting that 400,000.00 salary your CEO makes....
Im all for equal rights by the way, but If a woman can have the right to go kill a life with human potential, might as well let us men be able to kill any human based organism as well. Beggars can't be choosers, I want to be equal too!
The virus concept is just plain STUPID, and even if I were a pro choice person, I would believe it to be STUPID. A Virus isn't living, first of all, it isn't even comprised of cells. It is a protein which replicates inside a hosts DNA. A fetus on the other hand, IS ENTIRELY CELLULAR IN STRUCTURE. Cells give life. The argument that a Fetus isn't human is bullshit. A fetus cant become a dog, a cat or a god damn tree, it can only become a person! The pro-choice are selfish.
If she allows her virus to grow and not stop it, it will not be born and get a job someday when it grows up. I will not pray outside a virus clinic. I don't care if you kill a virus. I promise.
"We're talking about science as if it's concrete. But people from each side contradict each other" (And some are right and some are wrong. That doesn't mean there is not truth)
"Focus on birth control not science or evidence" (In other words do X, and ignore Y, which is evidence against X. I'm sure you'll be fine)
"I have a cold, and it's living inside me. If I kill the virus I wouldn't react like I killed a life" (A fetus isn't a virus)
"X&Y is female" (Is that scientific, or your opinion?)
Look at any pregnancy site that uses the "gestational age" calculation that PP uses; any pregnancy resource will list the first heartbeat as occuring much earlier. 24 weeks--6 months--until the first heartbeat is heard? Someone has her facts waaaay wrong. Just using regular ultrasound equipment, a heartbeat can be heard as early as 7 weeks, and hearing a heartbeat by external ultrasound at 10-12 weeks is considered a good sign that the pregnancy will continue without loss of the baby.
@Jestgreat Yeah because keeping alive a bunch of cells when you're mentally unstable is a smart idea. And when that child is born and mommy beats and destroys that child's being, you and you're ilk be the one to blame cause you didn't let this woman get an abortion. "When you're pre-born you're okay. When you're pre-school you're fucked."
ignoring the truth if it doesn't fit your beliefs? in making that statement, the pro-choicers there show they're horrible people- because it means they know that an unborn child is human, they're just denying it!
Pro-choice advocates are ignorant to the max...but this group just blew my mind. They want to believe their right soooo badly.......lol Hopefully one day they learn to use the thing that is by now shriveled up in their head.
There is NO question that the fertilized egg is a human being. It can be no other thing. It's a genetically unique individual. Eye color, skin color, predisposition to breast cancer and male pattern baldness, determined at the instant the sperm breaks the barrier and the ovum closes off to all other suitors.
i highly doubt the people in this video are reps from Planned Parenthood. they sound like a bunch of idiots in a debate class who waited until the night before to preform crappy research for the pro-choice side. No one who is truly educated in the matter would ever say the dumbass shit they say. I'm pro-choice and even I would never say that the heartbeat begins at 24 weeks.
whoever uploaded this is a dishonest asswipe trying to starve women from basic healthcare that goes beyond abortion
@kevinjjfr what do you mean HOW can I be pro-choice? Are you patronizing me for my beliefs? Or do you find it strange that I, as a pro-choicer, would never resort to using bad science?
There have been babies born at 21 weeks who survived. I heard my own daughters heartbeat at 8 weeks (it would have started earlier than that, but that was my first appointment) and saw it beating in an ultrasound at 11. 24 weeks? Really, people?!
So you have a couple people with questionable views from a student volunteer organization who probably are pursuing political science degrees and cannot accurately articulate off-the-cuff opposition to an unknown argument made off-camera. Conclusion: Planned Parenthood is anti-science!
And that part at the end, man, that's as bad as Obama's admission of visiting all 57 Islamic states.
Yes, they are dubious on science- luckily however, as a prochoice individual it is true that we don't rely on science. There is no need for any 'scientific enquiry' because this is a simply matter of gender equality. I own my body, I have the right to not be forced to use my body in a way I don't want- just as men do. That's all it comes down to, heart beats are irrelevant.
@MyFreedomChannel That's utter stupidity. That's like saying- I wonder if these girls are thankful their parents had sex on that particular night? They wouldn't know any different.
Gotta love the anti-science left. These people want to turn back the clock and return us to the time of living in grass huts and worshipping the sun and stars. Backward losers.
And relating to the video; these kids didn't make much sense, but how about you interview people actually in charge of Planned Parenthood instead of using a few unprepared comments by some undereducated undergrads at an obscure college to analyze the intentions of Planned Parenthood?
@Culiccidae The point is that these kids were *trained by PP*. The results of PP's "education" are a staggering ignorance, coupled with a blithe confidence in that very ignorance.
What does a woman come away with when she's been "provided with factual information" prior to her abortion at PP? Exactly this level of ignorance.
A fetus does not have any thoughts or feelings. It is nothing but a non-sentient organ living as a parasite in the woman's body. There is NO reason to extend ethical considerations to it merely for the fact that it contains human genes. It's part of the woman's body, and she has every right to do with it what she wants.
Are all you pro-lifers vegetarian? You know the meat you eat comes from living beings with far more sentience and potential to suffer than any fetus.
They said everything here except: "Science is not an exact science."
This conversation is a classic example of postmodernism: nothing can be known for sure. For over 100 years, the naturalists have said, "Religion is not truth, but we can trust science. Then the postmodernists came along and said, "There is no truth beyond my own opinion."
This is where anti-Christian philosophy, or any philosophy without an objective, transcendent basis in truth, crashes and burns.
Has anyone been able to watch this video with a straight face? I can't :D It's too funny. I'm not against abortion but man, these people are about as dumb as a box of rocks.
Wow that is hilarious. This just shows you the stupidity and hypocrisy prevalent among the Democrats and liberal whackjobs. These same people will tell you that we are descended from a monkey and that only that part of science is true.
But when it comes to destroying an innocent human life the say science is relative and compare us to viruses!?! Unbelievable the level of incompetence that can be reached among the liberals when left alone....LOL
@cktalons Abortion does not cause breast cancer or increase your chance of a later miscarriage Abortion has no mental health risk, but unwanted pregnancy does Most of the abortion “photos” on your posters are doctored When legal, abortion is among the safest procedures in all of medicine
@cktalons A fetus cannot feel pain until 35 weeks Only 3% of all of Planned Parenthood’s services are abortions Because of all the contraception they provide, Planned Parenthood and other similar organizations prevent more abortions than they provide to the tune of 800,000 fewer abortions per year Illegal abortions kill 70,000 people per year and leave millions more permanently injured.
Only if you're Dave trying to return to the Discovery and H.A.L. is trying to stop you. Great point, I'll be using that one thanks. If you reverse it, an abortionist can't survive immersed in fluid which is the natural environment of a fetus. Temporary environmental conditions should be irrelevant.
Every time your kid comes home from college, on break or a weekend, you really need to sit them down and have a long talk with them to undo the brainwashing. Think about it. They're very vulnerable, they're tired from studying and partying. Constant bombardment of this liberal crap is twisting their minds. This is why virtually every university instructor is a liberal. It is the best way to get there agenda out there. Convincing mature adults is much tougher, if not impossible.
This is the pile of crap that are supposed to be educated? One question...Imagine if their mothers had taken the same approach and aborted them before they were born?
O my...that is so funny and so sad. If you think about it, PP has to hire uneducated folks because who would want to work there and be involved with killing the innocent? Only someone ignorant or evil.
@deborachi a virus is not a living thing because it cannot survive outside of its host and cannot replicate on its own. it is merely a protien shell that protects RNA. that is why the inhuman bitch made the comparison. your teacher is proof the US (im assuming) education system is fucked up.
Thanks to the pro-aborts for articulating the reality that scientific facts have always been against them when it comes to defending abortion. They got that right!!!
And the more we know the worse it has gotten for them. Even in the early 70's the founders of NARAL knew they had to come up with slogans to sell abortion because the facts just don't cut it. Google Bernard Nathanson for more info...
A fetus can't live on it's own outside the womb. I can't live outside the atmosphere of the earth. Should I be expendable too? Wow, comparing a fetus to a virus. That is so descriptive of how they view life.
it's real hard to make a credible argument against cold hard scientific facts. but then again, PP lost any and all respect i ever had for them, along with their credibility. and that all happened a long time ago.
the heart beats at 24 weeks? interesting. according to WEB MD, the heart starts beating at FIVE WEEKS. that amount of misinformation is alarming on so many levels.
All you are liers and ignorants for convenience and for money but your hands and your money has a inocent blod;how you can say the life star at 24 weeks so all you were inside your mom just for 16 weeks ...o what!
There is only one possible point in time that life can begin and that is when the egg and the sperm join. The science of that is NEVER going to change, just like gravity - it is what it is. And saying that a fetus is not viable because it can't survive on it's own outside the mother's body is semantics. A baby *outside* the mother can't survive without being fed, changed, bathed, put to bed, by the mother. Should we just leave that baby to die too? Until it can support itself?
Ugh. Again. These ARE NOT Planned Parenthood, they're student representatives of clubs going up in a debate they had a day to prepare for, engineered well ahead of time by heads of pregnancy centers and creepy ministers. The students made the point that science is relative and can be skewed by power and money, ex: Nazi justification of genocide by "science". Two hour debate cut up to lie about students, who have no association with Planned Parenthood. It's crapoganda.
@ScaryJoann I found the source. Planned Parenthood sponsors the pro-choice group Advocates for Choice. That is their connection. It may have not been a direct connection, but the talking points and/or facts probably stem from Planned Parenthood. Even if Planned Parenthood not involved, there is no excuse for students involved in a group regarding abortion to be THAT ignorant.
I found the source at Jill Stanek's blog (the web address is too large for YouTube comments).
These fucking idiots are why democracy is a horrible thing. They apparently don't believe in any objective reality. They are nothing but crass hoi polloi whose minds have been polluted with sophistry -the kind of rabble Plato loathed in Athens.
*face palm* I don't agree with them that they should ignore and underestimate science compleatly. Science is great because it is changing, because it updates and improves. However I do agree that science can't answear any ethical questions we have. They should get thier facts straight. A virus technicly does not count as something living. It doesn't even have a cell. it's real hard to make a credible argument against cold hard scientific facts. but then again, PP lost any and all respect i ever had for them, along with their credibility. and that all happened a long time ago.
the heart beats at 24 weeks? interesting. according to WEB MD, the heart starts beating at FIVE WEEKS. that amount of misinformation is alarming on so many levels.

Well I'll bet there are a few more parents than last month who aren't 'planning' to send their sons and daughters to such a college next year!
They're basically advocating nihilism as their debating framework but I'm guessing none of them has read Nietzsche.

Ugh.

This idiot who thinks that "science is not absolute truth" has obviously never heard the term "interdisciplinary."
Some newer science is up in the air while other science has been cut and dried for quite some time. The beginning of human life is one of these.
