That's what I was thinking. Rose helped out the Ninth Doctor because he was feeling depressed since he had just gone from the Time War, but then Nine regenerated into Ten and he became more upbeat and less angsty. Losing Rose just brought back feelings from Nine, plus adding onto a new loss, I think.
