  • Hey nice videos, Lee. Thanx a bunch! The warm-up video was quite helpful! thanx =]

    Regards from Pakistan.

    ;)

  • i do some pullups in the morning, then afternoon, biceps and triceps, then later at 11pm at night i do push ups and forearms and some wheel roller for abs, thats my complete workout of everyday, how many days should i take off and wen should i take them, are they really necessary?

    Thank you

  • @elgoose2003

What you are doing is good, but I recommend you go to my main channel page and check out my "Playlists". There is a good 3 day bodybuilding split routine posted that you can follow that is a much more complete program then what you are following.

  • @danieltij3

You can train arms once or twice per week, depending on your overall workout routine. Keep in mind arms get worked as secondary muscles with your chest and back workouts as well.

  • I like to do my biceps with back, and triceps with chest. It feels comfortable for me because I was doing all arms one day until I got a great biceps burn while working my back, so I thought it would be best to split them up

  • do you think its ok do to biceps the day after your back workout or would it be too much strain on them? The reason im asking is because biceps are a secondary in a lot of back excersises and i feel a little pump in them when doin back but usually do biceps/triceps the next day

  • @southparkbbb

I've often trained arms the day after back or chest. I find that it works ok for me. But listen to your body. If your arms are sore from your back day, take a day of rest and hit them the next day instead.

  • Man your lucky to have access to such a range of hammer strength machines

  • Anybody else use his 12 week workout..if you google his name it's the first page and it's free and works pretty well for me at least..just wanted to know if anyone else was using it and how it's been working for them

  • are chin ups and dips a good to doing push ups?

  • @Frankwolf100

Chin ups, dips, and push ups are all great exercises. I personally include them all in my workouts.

  • i'd rather listen to this than that dance/techno shit it my gym

  • looks like that music is making you angry!!! LOL

  • @Leehayward love ur videos man!!!! I use them for my workouts but I wanted to know do u have to be sore after every workout in order to get muscle as you progress?

  • @Starscream2315

I have a video covering this question. Just search for "Do You Have To Get Sore To Build Muscle?"

  • My gym literally doesn't have one of those machines :P

  • more weight ya pansy

  • wow look at all these machines where is the iron !

  • this workout is wack

  • You got to be kidding about the grippers, right? I would be laughed right out of the gym

  • @sinfuldavy0

Well that just goes to show how ignorant people are in your gym. Most top athletes train their grip, including powerlifters, olympic lifters, strongman competitors, arm wrestlers, etc. If people at your gym do not train their grip then there must not be many advanced trainers who workout there.

  • @leemhayward He never said he would have laughed if you train your grip he said the gripper is funny because most people train there grips with barbells and pinches and dont bring grippers to gym.

  • @sinfuldavy0 The fact that you base your workouts around what other people in the gym think of you demonstrates that you're not very serious about your training. Be courteous to other gym users, but remember that you're there to do what you need to do. If you go into the gym with an ego, you open yourself up to injury.

  • 3:11 look at tht concentration !

  • hi lee where do i get the full set from grippers i mean

  • @mrpanstheman

They are available on my website LeeHayward*com just scroll down the side bar and you'll see the link.

  • i thought you said 100 pushups? i could only see 30

  • @brumbloke

100 total push ups, so just do as many sets as needed to get 100 total reps.

  • Do you do any ab workouts?

  • @HappySheepEating

Yes, just search through my playlists. I've got a section for ab workouts.

  • Lee how do you manage to do sets of push ups at the end? I can do push ups at other times, but after I've done a couple of sets for each weight exercise I just collapse after a few.

  • @bcfcjc

It's just building up your work capacity. If you don't have the strength to do push ups at the end of your workouts you can do them at the beginning instead.

  • hey lee i gotta ask you about dips which is better for tricep mass bench/chair dips or parallel bar dips & what about one arm parallel dips how good are they or what do u think about them ? thx

  • @hititdj

Personally I like the parallel bar dips better. But both exercises will hit the triceps hard.

  • your not meant to bend your back doing them standing cable curls and you shouldnt be moving your whole arm doing them either

  • Gym owners suck at picking music.

  • so it better if I train biceps and triceps the same day? im trying to get bigger

  • @mustained300

I personally like to pair up biceps and triceps for a complete arm workout. But you can also pair them up with other bodyparts as well. Try body variations and see which one you like the best.

  • At my gym they play Madonna, Justin Beiber, Shania Twain, I thought I was at a tea party, MP3 is needed most definitely.

  • so you workout tris and bis together? i have been doing one muscle group per day between 45mins-1 hour this following this schedule triceps moonday, chest tuesaday morning shouder tues evening...rest on wed...bak on thursday, shoulder

  • Great workout man!

    I will definitly follow this

  • you do the push up's too fast.

  • @101MrMatty No he doesnt.

  • i wish i had that tricep machine at my gym!

  • what a cool machine for tricep extension..

  • Your gym looks awesome! mine (In UK) is full of fags who try show off curling 10kg while wearing their little sister tshirts to look even bigger.

  • @MuffWizard92 10kg thats light lol

  • did you see his boner when he used the hand grips

  • @cupcake1556 why are you looking at his dick you fag

  • in my gym they play some gay metal and hardcore rock shit so gay

  • hey lee whats your opinion on pre workout formulas like ssin juice or nox

  • Whatever dude, boston kicks ass/

I would shit bricks if they played classic rock instead of rhianna at my gym.

  • Yeah, great equipment !

  • machines suck. stick to free weights

  • those are some really neat gym equipments

  • those are some really neat gym equipments

  • Dude, you are lucky they play the music they do at your gym. If I hear one more song from Lady Gaga or Rihanna or Beyonce at my gym, I am going ot friggin puke.

  • why only 2 sets?

  • why dont all gyms just play some crazy ass techno music or house???

  • STEVE O!!!!

  • lol at your face at 1:48

  • when i see you pull out them grippers hahaha couldnt stop laughing

  • 0:25

    what's the song called

  • @rofla more than a feeling - boston

  • I wish my local gym was that quiet, lol.

  • no peak on his biceps

  • Lee i'v been trying to get you to answer my question for a while so sorry but this will be posted on lots of your vids :)....I'm doing the 12 week routine outlined in the blast your bench. Can I do lots of cardio afterwards like an hour or should i turn the 5 minute warm up into an hour of cardio...or even do 30 before and 45 minutes after the workout?????

  • hey lee,any tips for recovering from a lower back injury? if i raise my left leg,it hurts a lot just above my buttocks. any advice?

  • More than a feeling woop woop

  • why would you not do more reps? isn't biceps and triceps supposed to be an isolation exercise ? (meaning 10-15 reps)

  • you could domoe weight if you wanted cuz those 6 reps seem too easy for you

  • In my gym they play fuckn gay rnb music so I have to carry mp3 with me!!

  • @vladosaber Dude you would kill yourself at my Gym,They Play Techno and some kinda women workout music. Its soo bad that sometimes I wanna break something.

  • omg your so lucky that they play classics at your gym idlove if they did that at my gym

  • im a joker

    ima smoker

    ima mid night talker...

  • toker

  • Help please

I need a list of food that isn't so hard on the digestive system and isn't super bad that a lazy mom would cook, or something very cheap I can get from the store to help me, gain 20 pounds before next summer, can anyone help me please

    Thank you in advance.

  • @pronation1 ....tuna pasta and sweet corn.....badda bing..

  • Any combination of fats proteins and carbs will put weight (fat) on you as long as you make a caloric surplus. But muscle takes a long time to grow, and extra protein and extra calories do not cause extra muscle growth. Example the human body has the capacity to produce a pound of muscle a week. Does notmean you will. So a pound of muscle contains 100 grams of protein. Thats only like 15 extra graims a day. You dont need to load up on proteins like companies want you to believe.

  • i'm presuming you're not the 'lazy mom'

so get off your arse and cook yourself! ha

sorry just hard to take that seriously.

not gonna bother talking about meals since your comment is a month old already, ha

    just made me laugh.

  • @pronation1...honestly the easiest way to gain mass (hopefully you're trying to build muscle and not just fat) is to workout and EAT A LOT. it doesn't quite matter what you eat..if you have trouble keeping on or adding weight, just EAT A LOT. seriously.

  • @pronation1 some foods that can help you achieve your goal is ALOT of chicken breasts (easy to cook), steaks, brown rice, turkey breasts, you know all that type of cold cuts.....hey if you subscribe to my channel ima start posting up videos about working out, tips, supplement advice, all that type of stuff.

  • Go LEE!

    Just ordered your hand grippers

  • 1:36 Goes with the song!!! lol, thats fucking badass

  • 3:08... WTF?!?!?:D

  • What?

  • Comment removed

  • definition ...are you kidding me ..go to his website and look at his pre and post contest pics lol

  • @_@ he made the pushups look easy

  • lees stated he did alot of them at a very young age so naturaly hes quite fucking good at them at this stage lol

  • Hahaha never seen Chuck Taylors in the gym before.

  • Seriously? Honestly the shoe of choice is a flat soled shoe with little cushion. This allows the foot to maintain proper balance especially when using a heavy load of weight during squats, deadlifdts, or any other standing exercise. A cushioned sole ( i learned the hard way ) disperses the weight unevenly and will inevitably allow you to move LESS weight in the gym due to instability.

  • Wow I've never heard that before. Makes sense though, thanks man. Looks like my old Chuck Taylors might get some more use after all

  • Yeah i had a nice set of pumas with no cushion and i thought i upgraded when i got some nice running shoes with gel soles. my squat weight instantly dropped 50lbs.

this also goes for weight gloves. yeah they save your hands but cause your grip to loosen and the weight to be unstable. chalk is the best way.

  • Good tips man. You know your stuff

  • of course free weights are best but as advanced as he is you need a much wider variety of exercises to choose from in order to keep growing year after year.

  • Classic tunes

  • lol fat? haha u must need glasses if u think that looks like fat

  • Its a lot better to use free weights to build muscle mass... machines are usefull but i prefer to use free weights for the most of my work outs and use machines for varition and to mix up my routines.

  • @tripplekekkz thats exactly what i do.

  • Thats not fat man thats muscle and lots of it lol

  • That guy looks very fat. Is useless to make so many exersice to look like that.

    Patetic.

  • illiteracy for the win

  • free weights are better. and that routine sux

  • That's a very wrong assumption. You must be an amateur.

  • Comment removed

  • I think ur right, as for the free weights are better than machines, but personally i prefer finishing my workout with a machine or cable, its not a bad way to do heavy free weights, say for 2 biceps workout, then hit a light-medium weight machine or cable workout, say 2-3 sets to failure. it works well for me.

  • For the hammer strength seated curls, i dont have this machine at my gym, is there an alternative to this machine that does the same effect?

Great videos by the way, this video gonna be my wednesday workout .

  • that was 30 not 100 push ups dumbass

  • The workout calls for 100 total push ups, meaning do a set, rest a minute, do another set, rest a minute, etc. until you complete 100 total push ups.

  • @leemhayward The way you handle trolls is commendable, man. And thanks for sharing your workout advice. +1 customer

  • wow u must have really let that get to u for u to type all this shit haha

  • r u retarded, free weights are way better that machines u fuckin idiot, u must not know anything about weight lifting

  • machines or not you wont even build half the body he has given your lifex2

  • he's not cut at all

    !!!!

  • i love the dip machine by hammer strength

  • Comment removed

  • keep it up lee

  • Not much stamina. Just wondering where the biceps are, dont see any in this video hahahahahahahah

  • cool you're almost as big around as you are tall

  • I don't have that much spare time lol. I have always been naturally strong, but now I am TRYING to get even stronger. My comment was just about not believing i'm stronger than Lee Hayward...He's a full grown man, and a beast aswell...Yes, i'm 16. My height and weight is 5'8 175 lbs. Judging by Lee Hayward's size, I'd say he can go for a good 175-180 on the cable curls no problem..

  • Machines are easier than free weights...I can pec fly 200 on the machine, but do you think I can do it with 100 lb dumbbells in each hand? FUCK NO!! For tricep push downs, I need to add extra weight blocks to the machines, I admit I am above for my age, but it's not THAT unbelievable..My BB curl is 105 for 6 and my DB curl is 55 for 10 (right arm)

  • the name of the game is not weight but resistance. free weights do not give resistance throughout so you hit these unbelievable sticking points in the movements. Forget free weights vs machines, your muscles only know resistance. By the way, all these guys who love hammer strength, well they r built by arthur jones' son, and r based on nautilus leverage machines which use leverage insted of a weight stack. Use wateva works and forget other peoples' 'rules' for bodybuilding.

  • CABLE CURL not barbell...I barbell 105 for 6...

  • Lee..c'mon...I cable curl 150 for 8 and im half ur size, and im 16...this HAS to be a warm up...

  • There is no way he got to where he is by doing two sets each of all machine exercises. This article should be titled, "Extreme Beginner Exercise Routine for Arms." You're better than that Lee.

  • cuz im a grinner, im a lover, and im a sinner

  • The music in the background is nuthin'!! In my gym they have a band that comes in and plays - full on- elctric guitars drums screachin' vocals - everything. They even had a Mexican group in one, moving from machine to machine. People complained about that!

  • I can't even fathom doing 100 pushups.

  • do you ever super set or simply do out each exercise by itself?

  • what a machine!

  • wheres the free weights?! machines suckkk

  • i know he must workout at golds

  • his body is horrible, his top half looks far too big for his legs, slim n toned is the way!

  • Slim and toned? Ya if you're a fucking woman.

  • dont be jeolous punk who prob cant bench a 100 pounds

  • he does have a lot of knowledge... i'm assuming the reason he isn't as big as the pros is he doesn't juice.

  • how many times a week and how many exercises per workout do you recommend

  • its boston in the background sweet.

  • where is that video where lee is lying flat and then has 2 dumbells and does tricep outward extensions but rolls (to the front of the shoulder) them when he brings them down does anyone know what i am talknig about?

    thanks

  • powerlifting routine about benchpress i beleive, something witht hose words in the title

  • all these cool machines

  • he looks sooo much bigger in real life....

  • holy shit dude I'm sitting here listening to Locomotive breath by Jethro tull and when you were doing the hand grippers for your forearm Locomotive breath came on in the gym awesome, the flute solo.

wish my gym played classic rock like Tull man.

    COINCIDENCE?

  • good work reads hayward, has helped me enough in my routines of the gym, I on the matter have a doubt on the video.

as I can work before arms?

    atte: sebastian

  • not to be rude, but nothing you said makes sense.

  • I think he's german, lol. :-P

  • Im not an expert on lifting weights, but you are using your whole body way to much on the Hammer Strength Seated Curls. Need to just work the arms on that workout.

  • You may not be an expert, but Lee is haha, believe me he knows what hes doing

  • not using correct form but he's pretty buff

  • You just dont have the genetics, but good job trying man. You should switch to just full body work.

  • hey now...that looked like 30 push ups to me! your only cheating yourself! lol

  • he meant that u do push up in sets and get a total of 100.

  • idont have any of these controlled weights at my gym

  • when it says like 2 sets of 6 does that mean do one set of 6 on the machine, go to a different machine, but then come back to first machine later in your workout and then finish your second set? or does that mean do your first set of 6 on your machine, rest for a few seconds, and then continue working on your second set?

May sound like a dumb question but i'm new to working out and I've wondered this.

  • Do all your sets for one exercise before moving on to the next exercise.

  • Thanks for all of the good bodybuilding information Lee. My knowledge of the sport has jumped significantly here in the last two years. Your website is unmatched when it comes to truthful, well-tested, and in your face bodybuilding philosophy at its finest. My hat goes off to Tom Venuto and Sean Nalewanyi as well__ excellent writers. Your choice to stay natural is a great testament to yourself and it keeps me coming back to your blog and articules time and time again.
