  • i lived there 4 years ago id recommend it to any1

  • what's the piece of music called please that's on this video and who's it by......?

  • @pauleveritt1970 I took it from youtube's audio swap,it is by Medwyn Goodall and it is called Invocation part three..............John

  • Arguments yard? No it isn't....lol

  • @drummingriffin LOL I think it is a great place to take your partner and have a bit of fun...............John

  • @johnwood57 I TOLD you once already.........NO IT ISN'T!!!! Haha

Thanks for the laugh mate. It is a great place.

  • Well,I'm 50 & this has brought a little tear to my eye, hahaha! I would go to Whitby every other year for my summer hols, alternating with Scarborough! We always had the best times at Whitby, being more graceful & charming as opposed to the bigger, gaudier Scarborough! If I ever won big-time on the Lottery I would head to Whitby like a shot! Mind you, getting up to the Abbey would be more of a task now, what with creaking bones & smoker's lung, lol! But it'd be worth it just to see my days out!

  • @popazz1 There is nothing wrong with being 50,i am 54 on Saturday,i think we are in our glory years now LOL.

I do like Whitby myself,as i live in Scarborough it is still a great pleasure to jump on the bus and have a couple of hours in and around this beautiful town........John

  • @johnwood57 ,

You're right, there's 'nowt' wrong with the age,it's what it does to my fecking body that's the problem, hahaha! I haven't been to Whitby for a number of years as I now live much further south than my hometown of Middlesbrough, but if I did happen to win big-time on the Lottery I'd have to buy something in/close to Whitby to see out my days by the bracing,(cough, cough),north Yorks coast! And Scarborough had it's appeal too, just that Whitby was more 'genteel'. J.P.

  • I hope to retire there some day, its my most favourite place on earth, you can keep your Villas and warm climates, I have so many special memories here xxxxx

  • @erasure43 Well if you decide to retire here to Whitby,i am sure you will have a lovely time, which no doubt you will.

Thanks for the comment just keep on watching...........John

  • Thankyou for this video. I'm going to visit Whitby this year.

  • @sweetangel1610isf Thank you very much,i am much pleased that you liked the video, and i hope you enjoy your visit to Whitby, but do not forget to try and get to Scarborough that is just down the road from Whitby, which is where i live ..........John

  • Hi, I am pleased that you enjoyed that little presentation, part two is pretty good too if i say so myself LOL.

I do hope that you get the chance to visit i thing that you will enjoy it,as i live just 21 miles south of Whitby i can visit anytime i like,i live in Scarborough another pretty place, just have a look at my channel and pick out one or two to watch....many thanks......John

  • What a great little video. I've been wanting to visit Whitby for some years now, but havnt got round to it. Im a photographer myself and it looks such an atmospherical place. I live in South Wales but I've got relations living in Catterick so I really must make the effort. Right. Time for part 2. Well Done and thanks.

  • This is a lovely little video of Whitby around its local town and shopping streets e.t.c.

I used to go there with my family when I was younger. It brings back some nice memories. :)

Is there a part 2 of this at please?

  • @littlemissjaded12345 Thank you for the comment.yes there is a part two, just type in whitby north yorkshire part two in the browser and you should find it if not go to my channel and you will see it there somewhere ......Cheers John

  • Very nice video. You should work for the Whitby tourist board. This would attract lots of tourists if it was more widely available, I'm sure.

Personally, I prefer Whitby when the holidaymakers have gone and it is quiet. The place has it's own unique natural beauty as do many other ports along the North Yorkshire coast. Still, it's the tourists and holidaymakers that help to boost the local economy so I'm not complaining. Also, I live fairly local so I can go to Whitby whenever I want.

  • @andypandyman01 Thanks very much for the kind comments,i had to laugh to myself when you said working for the tourist board,i have often thought about sending them a copy.

I have the same video saved to my hard drive as i do all of my video's,which on this one i added a music track to it,which i think sounds better.............John

  • Excellent video John of this Gem of a North Sea town, superb clarity, and very enjoyable to watch....5* Bob

  • John Mate! fantastic loved every minute of your video. what ever settings you are using to video (do not change them) your videos are now very steady and you are doing a great job at videoing love it wow!!!

  • @togreektown Hey Wayne, thanks mate, yes i think i have sorted everything out now, getting a little more confident in what i am doing,How do you like our Whitby?little bit different to Whitby Ontatio LOL,in fact as i was coming into town here i noticed a sign on the roadside saying that Whitby is twinned with Whitby Ontario.

    Brilliant.............John

  • Whitby is another place I have never visited, and yet I have heard it's supposed to be very nice, it certainly appears a nice looking place, reminds me of Brixham a little.

I like these small old town kind of places, with the little pubs and shops, streets and all things associated with the sea side. Love hearing the sea gulls as well... aahhh !!

Wa hey... Sprinter spotted at 6:52 shame that wasn't my van parked there...

Well John -well done I've never been until now... :-)

    I liked it

    Paul 5*

  • @Bevoin1970 Thank you very much for those kind words Paul, yes it is a facinating place to visit,it is only up the road from me so i go quite often.

They have a couple of good weekends here, every year they have a Goth weekend where everybody dresses up in the weirdest costumes,i will try and catch a few of them and post them up.............John

P.S. You never know one day i may see your van up there.........LOL.

  • I was close today, well Harrogate to be exact.. ha ha
