I found that, during the cutscenes, the sub-titles usually get in the way of the action, so I prefer them off (there aren't really any times where voices are muffled anyway). It's good to have them on during non-cutscene speech, though, because that can often be unclear due to other noises (shooting, explosions, etc.).
One thing I NEVER understood was how the RPC120 that was supposed to be made in Carrington Institute... is made by Chesluk Industries.

With the RCP120, you can cloak, the targets will turn around, and you can shoot them.
