@vincentcapuano He can sword-fight extremely well, he can horseback ride, use a whip, use a gun, do hand-to-hand combat, use trickery and strategy, and most likely use knives and things like that, but I haven't seen him use knives out of the episodes I've watched.
dude, you guys are messed up. things were a LOT diffrent when this show was made, phrases like that didn't mean anything like what you guys are thinking. Plus it is a CHILDRENS show!
Hmm, Monastario's taste in literature is "appalling."
Considering that Monastario just said to the Viceroy's daughter that he would like to be her slave... I wonder what sort of literature Monastario likes to read. Haha.
There are a couple strange references like that throughout the series. For example, in one of the episodes with the Eagle, Senor Brighton walks in on the Eagle interrogating Don Alfredo, tied to a chair with a candle by his face, for the names of Alejandro's army and Brighton asks:
"What is the meaning of this?"
And the Eagle responds:
"Nothing, it is only a matter of discipline..."
You wouldn't think the Eagle was into that stuff... Haha.
Observation: If Diego and the Viceroy's son went to the same university in Spain (where Diego was a top fencer and won all the competitions) and they were very good friends, why doesn't the Viceroy look surprised when, in one years time, Diego has lost all ability to fence?
or maybe they knew diego could fence, but where they more interested in arresting Monastario and because Diego is their friend they didn't want to accuse him of being Zorro.
@CafeAmerican1945 During the fight, he tells his daughter that Diego knows what he's doing. He knows. He just choses to not be positive on the identity of an outlaw whom he would feel honor bond to tell on.

Maybe it'll work in Diego's favor that he's friends with the viceroy's son and went to school with him.

Zorro the fox. That's a bit redundant since Zorro means fox in Spanish.

@CafeAmerican1945
Good point - However the vice - roi only said that they went to the same university, not that they studied together.
Plus both families belong to the elite of california so I presume that the two families have known each other for years maybe even generations.
