I lived around here since I was a kid this used to be a beautiful place until all the people got old and died and left these homes to their irresponsible older children who were in their 40's and had homes already so they rented these nice homes out to scum bags who trashed this whole area. renters are not who you want to take care of your property because they are destroyers.
I was born on 629 Jane Ave as was my Father...Him IN the House me at St. Joe's Hospital but we lived there. I also lived at 1519 Wyoming later in the early 2000. Also on Arlington just a block and a half down South from Davison Rd. I also owened a home over behind Jesters Lounge on Welcome Dr. I guess you can say I was an Eastsider....Played ball at Potter school in the summers and had friends that went to St. Leo's off of Center. My Gramma played Bingo there every week.
@joshtrout well I can't believe you are on here either. haha! cool! no these houses are now gone they burn some down everyday night. soon it will all be barren wasteland.
I do not think you are very young anymore if you were running around in the 70's do you think it is cute to destroy a nice neighborhood like that? You are a middle aged man with a real sick attitude when are you going to grow up? eh? you are a bad dude
Yeah the East has always been ruff but it never looked the way it does now. I ran the streets from the late 70s to the mid 90s and watched the decline. Then i left for about 2 years when I went in the military and came back and it looked like a fuckin nuke hit that joint. Hell, most my family were prolly responsible. I decline to say any names but I bet a 100 to 1 if i did everyone on here would be like..."I know that mutha fucker" HA HA
yea but east side has always been fucked up...and jane st SHIT back in the 90's when cobras ran the east you didnt walk that street unless you knew someone... that place has always been bad, or for atleast the last 30-40 years.
I can not believe how it looks now. when I was a kid and a young woman it was the best place to live, all nice houses and lewis st. and Franklin had many businesses all the way down, clothing stores banks doctor offices restaurants bars laundromats at least three of them Roxy Theatre on Broadway by the Dr. Fleetwoods office where the parking lot is now and many drugstores and Irwin Hirsh jewelers on Lewis st. many beer and wine stores and no one needed a car to live there you could walk to all.
I don't think that the Mexicans had much to do with it looking better than it does now. It hasn't been good since the orginal owners had the houses. it was caused by them dying and leaving them to their kids who didn't want them so they rented them out to trash and ruined the whole area. they caused it. I say sell a house if you don't want it you will get paid for 30 years and a buyer takes care of it renters destroy it.
