  • - Slaves must perform any act you wish [Titus 2:9]

  • Well, at least we got the atheists to visit this site. That's always a good first step!

  • How does this help in sharing the faith? It sounds more like it's just for arguments sake, rather than actually proving a point, as all you're doing is turning a statement on itself. Aside from possibly frustrating or irritating someone, it seems rather useless.

  • Wait.

If I were to say "All truth is absolute" and a skeptic were to say "There is no absolute truth," couldn't the former be self-defeating too?

Is is true that all truth is absolute? Is THAT true? Or is no absolute truth true? Something needs to be based on certainty.

    This tactic sucks. ;)

  • @FanaticTroll "is all truth absolute?" "Is that true?" Yes, yes it is. It is impossible for it to be true that truth does not exist. While it can very well be true that all truth is absolute. This may sound circular but is true by default. It is a first principle.

  • @TheAnswerVideo

Oh, right. So only your assertion can be true and not the others'. You can play around with words by saying that it's true by default and basically say, "I'm right because I'm right and they're wrong because they're wrong."

"It is impossible for it to be true that truth does not exist."

Is that an impossible truth? Or is your statement self-defeating bubbling bullshit as well?

  • Although, it's also self-defeating, as it's basis is fully on someone making an obviously stupid move, and it leaves a laughable gap. Proving circular logic by making the logic circular. Lol.

  • Interesting, I like it. It does work out that simply when arguing against Christians, silly lot that they are.

  • @KaTwItHkAtAnA The philosophy that all truth is realitive is from a skeptic, post-modernistic type of view I believe. If Christians were to believe that no truth exists than why would they even believe Jesus died on the Cross?

I hope this doesn't offend you, I'm just an eager junior in high school starting on my apolgetics course. :)

  • @Chanpanzie Interesting, but it is patially true. What I see is very different from what you see.

On a side note, I am not a Christian, I am an Atheist. =)

  • @chipchristy I agree with you chipcristy! I myself am a Christian and I read that book last year and loved it. I apoligize if I miscommunicated something through my comment.
