Plus this cd is in tribute to Layne, and has taken the band 14 years to come out with, and they picked DuVall because he help tour with them.

first of all, jerry cantrell is OBVIOUSLY doing lead guitar/vocals.. you can hear him singing for most of the song, him and duvall are in harmony. there are only a few parts where duvall sings by himself.

also, having someone join the band who can't sing like layne is kindof lame, it's like taking away the most prominent instrument from the band, but it's still a good song, true to alice in chains' sound.

i wasn't completely disappointed.

I never really liked Jerry's solo stuff but I have always been right behind him (and William) in bringing back AIC. I hope that the narrowmindedness of people who are more intereted in a band's members than its music doesn't stop them getting the respect they deserve.

This gives me not enaough info about how album will sound, so you should at least wait for a song to come out and then we can talk a bit more... 30 sec video is not enough to realize if band is going grunge, or nu-metal now etc... I can see what your saying but i think it only sounds nu metal because Korn has made nu metal synonymous with being creepy and despairing sounding but AIC first started that. A lot of AIC's old songs are very grinding like this to like grind. It doesn't sound metalcore at all though.
