oooooo coooool! maybe waht you can do is a thing like on star, except call it... Gun Star where you have to call a number from your cellphone, then they can release the mechanism for you. I'm sure that would be more convenient for a police officer in a death struggle. :)
YES I UNDERSTAND that this is an OVER SIZED prototype but for anyone who has worked a job that requires the use of a firearm, in a full contact hands on, profession, (mil/LEO etc) would understand just how problematic this concept is. And I'm not just just referring to when you need the weapon. Too long and complicated to post in a you tube comment.
This is what happens when good intentioned people who have never worked in the industry try to implement new gadgets or tech for those that do.
Fucking fail... Lets focus on training officers how to win a fight, instead of developing shit to think for them. At best, this holster will reduce(not prevent) many officer fatalities with their own weapon. What it won't stop is officers from being stabbed, shot or beat to death with other objects.
Good idea with good intentions but what if you strong arm is somehow made unable to draw the gun and u have to use the other side, but it won't unlock. There are some bad situations that could arise but good start
is actually a great idea wacos, and similar technology is used all the time already, I am happy that this is being implemented, because all other portable locks are garbage, the trigger locks are insecure and slow, and the boxes are too big to carry.
Please don't make stupid comments like that, that's why we are called "Stupid Americans"
There have been instances of bad guys ripping guns from level III holsters, what happens when they destroy the stupid box of batteries or rip the ridiculous bracelet off? BAD idea.
@georgetime You guys fail to understand English or what?! this is, again, a prototype, the final version may be integrated in a chip under the skin, or to a hardened bracelet, not something you can take off without cutting the officer's hand off. And it is not going to be powered with AA batteries either >.> and... oh well... if you could only think for yourself.
@Termojard idiot, this is a -prototype- just to demonstrate the mechanics, of course it will be sized down! and of course you won't have to carry a huge stupid colourful card on the sleeve! it is meant to be -integrated- to the holster not an addon. If you had passed science at school you could understand easily.
I hope this is a joke. That would get you killed in a gunfight, no question. And this dope has no idea what defensive shooting is about and how it's done. You don't get to draw like a lazy cowboy everytime...
RIP officer. This would do nothing, in a fight your arm is trying to block the firearm and it automaticly unlocks it, not a wise thing. This is a solution in search of a problem to solve.

Yeah lets just add MORE weight to the already heavy duty belt. That way not only old cops will have backs young cops can too.

This is a very, very bad idea. That is not something you need to introduce more complexity and failure points into.

The bad guys will figure out a way to disable it. Count on it.

who would carry that shit... make it compact not fucking gigantic
Termojard 3 years ago
That is why it is a PROTOTYPE.... they will obviously compact it down in size when they start thinking about releasing it.
And to the others saying that is a death sentence, it only is if the mechanism fails...

Shame on this video for trying to use Officer Cotton to further their greed for this piece of crap.
The day an Officer trusts their firearm to 4 Rayovac AA batteries and a fallible electronic device is the day they become a statistic.
