They will vote on it any day, Monsanto engineered it, calling it a "Food Safety Bill' it falls under the the jurisdiction of Homeland Security, AND IT ROBS US OF VIRITUALLY ALL NON-GMO FOOD CHOICES because it will make Organic farming and the saving of real seeds disapear. Applaud the Haitian Farmers! In June 2010, they refused the 450 tons of seed that was being donated by Mansanto. In fact, between 8,000 and 12,000 of them protested and burned the seeds that were handed out to them!

Also thought I'd add that my grandfather was exposed to methyl parathiol in the mid twentieth century. Pesticides are bad news. The only good thing man has made is peanut butter and I only say that because I'm not allergic to peanut butter.

Round up is the same as "agent orange" - the same product used in Vietnam, I believe, it was to eliminate all greenery so they could bomb the enemy. Imagine a product that strong being used in a GMO roundup ready seed... for human consumption.

My understanding is that the main ingredient in Agent Orange was not the problem. It was residual dioxin within the defoliant that created the damage. Monsanto knew about the byproduct within Agent Orange and did not (or could not) alter its chemical process to remove it.

glyphosate (Roundup) is a salt. 

It was first developed as a herbicide in the early 1970's.

It is a new generation systemic herbicide (kills the plant from the inside out.)

Lasso (agent orange) is 2,4,5-T and 2.4-D are synthetic auxins.

They kill by defoilating vegetation.

Both of these herbicides were developed in the 1940s.

Considering both the chemistry and the way they are used, they are very different products.
