The 2nd part of this video was from earlier seasons....I hated when the show ended...Project ALF sucked...The Tanner family weren't even in it as I recall...
why did they have to end it like that because they had a movie idea where willy and the rest of the family save him from the gov. but it got scrapted it sucks I know
I watched this episode today. My brother had already seen it, so I knew it would end like this, but I had no idea it would be this sad. I nearly cried, and I rearly cry while watching a movie or tv show
i loved all four season i saw the last episode today and i wan't a differend ending this is worse then the soprano's where they end in the middle of a*posted comment* :D
only in the 80's would people watch a show where a puppet lives with a family...we were so much simpler then...not sophisticted like now ...watching people get in fiughts and have random sex and get drunk...
@kontekzt Don't feel bad. What happened was this....ALF's ratings had plummeted by the end of 1989 and NBC planned to yank the show. ALF's producer thought he'd pull a fast one by making the final episode a cliff-hanger and the original airing showed "To Be Continued...." hoping that viewers would pressure NBC to continue the show for one more season. Unfortunately, NBC had already made up its mind and the show was "not continued".
They were going to have another season after this actually. Problem is... they didnt.
I mean.... I for one go with the idea that Alf somehow escaped. Just wish we knew how. However it was... the Tanners were his family and they probably met up again.
This is looking at it the best way I can though. Trying to keep enthusiastic.
they should have had an extra episode or a season in which alf is in captivity and in the last 2 to 3 episodes have him escape reunited with the tanners then leave for real
o my gosh....I´m so crying ...yeep if I knew this bevor that ther is no happy end i would never wath this part...pooor alf....I was loving to wathing it....o my god do you know where is to find the alf movie..i have to see it.....
@kukisia the alf movie is probably all on yt.. although I can't recommend it because I don't consider it to be cant (what other people would call canon - or "part" of the series). Essentially the series ended with Alf being captured - but that's not entirely a bad thing.. because it made the series far more powerful than it might otherwise have been - it turned it into a cult tv series as opposed to being just another 80s comedy sitcom
@gokiburi666 thank you for info ...I found it and sow it...but realy it wasn´t that what i expected.....i thin the serie has their own charm...whit out tenners it doesn`t function....willy kate ...alf they were a part of this comedy and each one of them alone it`s not the same ..now it looks like the 4 years of hiding alf for other people was unnecessary.. ..
@gokiburi666 thank you for info ...I found it and sow it...but realy it wasn´t that what i expected.....i thin the serie has their own charm...whit out tenners it doesn`t function....willy kate ...alf they were a part of this comedy and each one of them alone it`s not the same ..now it looks like the 4 years of hiding alf for other people was unnecessary...
@gokiburi666 ..all the tricks and thing which they did for him to protect him was for nothing .....I miss that sitcom it was the best one I have ever seen ..
@gokiburi666 I disagree. The ending alone doesn't make any series a cult. IMO, the series is respected because Alf was a great character, full of funny lines. On top of that, Alf's relationship with each of the Tanners was quite interesting to see. The series stand, quite simply, because almost every episode make you truly laugh, not because of its last minutes. And although Project Alf could have been better, it can still be respected as a good follow up series.
@gokiburi666 1. You mean "canon" and 2. It doesnt matter if the original cast isnt in it, it's still a continuation and only butthurt fanboys get into a pickle about it
@ZipZagginGallifrey Yep.. canon would be the same meaning.. I just use the word "cant" as its what I'm used to using. As far as '2' goes :) when you get right down to it, who talks about a series other than the (much derided) hardcore fans? But when discussing a series from 20 years ago it becomes relevant what was and was not "real" storyline .. and imho the movie was not. Feel free to disagree - to each their own.
@ff2paladin well.. in the context of which I'm using it (and I have no idea if this is a "real" meaning of the word or just my imagination telling me that it is), it means a storyline of a series agreed upon by a majority of hardcore fans as being true to the spirit of that series as opposed to being a low quality addition. For example, the 1996 Doctor Who tv movie was not generally considered "cant" .. meaning that it was ignored as part of the Doctor Who storyline by all fans whom I met.
jesus h christ they ended alf on THIS note?! thats so like unbelievably sad goddamn wtf would they do this for? this is like the last episode of roseanne its like oh yeah heres your happy ending...nah we just fucking with you we are going to crush your soul then go eat some orphans and drink virgin blood arent we just a barrel of lulz?
@Robbinia2004 lol i forgot i wrote this idk which is sadder this roseanne finding out dan was dead (i cried john goodman is just too awesome for me to handle his death lol) or the ending of dinosaurs where they all go extinct (which yeah i know duh they are dinosaurs what else would have happened) i didnt wanna have to SEE them talking bout how they are all gonna die Y_Y
I loved the series, and I was so mad at this ending, I wanted to throw something at the tv. I could handle the way it ended, IF they have done the movie, where Willie risks his life to break ALF out of the Alien Task Force, AND THEN the family leaves for Iceland to get out of the country.
It's funny how the description of the experiments they were going to perform on Alf are played for comedic effect in the first episode, but by the time the last episode rolls, it actually becomes disturbing and tragic.
This was the actual ending. Project ALF was just his dying dream as he was dissected.
