@LazerFreak274 Our Chinese Sword Breaker is perfectly balanced for fighting, has a rectangular cross section with hollow ground flats, it's made from 1050 high carbon steel and it has a wickedly sharp needle point. It's a finely crafted weapon.
@LazerFreak274 you'd be surprised. For a start, it isn't a blade, it's an incredibly destructive parrying weapon with a Cold Steel twist. I've seen people training / sparring with these (as well as the tests of course) and they are wrecking machines!
@LazerFreak274 It's a badass weapon (especially if used with a companion axe or knife). It wrecks everything it hits and it can be "short-sworded" and used like a bayonet at closer ranges. I like it a lot
@MrSzymonSz Yes it did. Lynn stabbed through the mail, through the padding behind it and deep into the wooden post supporting the target. He had to bend it getting the Sword Breaker back out! (you can see him twisting the weapon back out) However, it was easily repaired and good to go very quickly.
I would love to own one of these, but your prices are almost heart attack inducing, especially when ordering directly from your site. Not to mention that paying such a ridiculous amount of money, for a weapon that has NO practical use in the modern world, is just pants-on-head retarded.
I can buy four or five decent rifles for the price that you're asking for on the main site.
@gothkid287 We love rifles (and own lots of them) but there is always a place for different weapons too. We sell a lot of these so I guess some people must want 'em ;)
Is this a ploy to kill time for you to think of something clever or did you not read mine?
Look up any quality knife and they hit 80$ easily, and these swords are many times bigger. The company is still running, and they still make these, so obviously people are buying them for some use. If swords had NO use whatsoever, no one would be making them.
People use them for cosplays, random events people get together for(Ex. , movies, competitions, sure people buy them to put on walls, martial arts training, memorial ceremonies, and fencing
YOU pull your head out of YOUR ass. They don't have everyday use, but it's not like when someone buys an axe they go out to use it every single day. Same for a chainsaw or even a broom.
Reading comprehension doesn't come into this at all, hard to take the name "gothkid287" seriously.
@CoRkSkr3w >People use them for cosplays Weaboos >movies Lol? >competitions Rofl. >sure people buy them to put on walls Retards. >martial arts training Worthless, just as retarded as putting it on a wall. >memorial ceremonies Lol. >fencing I bet. It's a waste of money. Plain and simple. If you're to much of a retard to grasp that, then God help you. >hard to take the name "gothkid287" seriously. Speak for yourself. Random capital letters, and leet speak doesn't make you cool, fag.
@makeuplover1935 chainmail was made to stop/slow all atacks, its not like you made chainmail saying, "this is perfict so long as its not stabed!" it slows down a stab like it is made to do, a good sword is just to strong for it to win

I hate Lynn C. Thompson, he may be entertaining and a good weapon designer but he is also a bastard that shoots endangered species like hippos, which you can see on his website. I regret that I have bought any products from a company with a low-minded caveman and thug as president. I don't want to pay his kill for fun-trips, my morals and honor are more important than stuff that I, at worst, can buy on Ebay. You should also break a sword in this video, you don't back up your claims otherwise.
@MrSauron93 you'll also see on our website that we are very involved with anti-poaching groups and that Lynn often hunts alongside native tribespeople or as part of a cull. As a company we are pro-hunting but if you are anti-hunting that's fine. Everyone is free to make their own choice and I admire your strong convictions. However, name calling and hate-speach really isn't necessary.
@csknives I'm not per definition "anti-hunting", or some whining animal rights activist, but people who kills, as long as it is not in self-defense, endangered animals like hippopotamus, tiger, gorilla, orangutan, snow leopard etc. are some of the worst scumbags on earth. Killing cattle for food is okay, to kill vermin like rats are not only okay but necessary, but to contribute to the extinction of species is absolutely not okay, it's the same or worse than murder (there are plenty of people on
@MrSauron93 Why does the president's personal life have anything to do with the product the company makes? You are paying for weapon, not funding a "fun-trip". I could argue with you on the moral reasons to hunt, but as I said earlier, that has nothing to do with the product or the company.
@CitrusLizard You pay for the product, correct, but when you do that, you indirectly pay for his trips and hunting. Which is very obvious if you have an IQ over 70. I wrote the comment here because I also wanted to complain that they didn't broke a sword with the swordbreaker which is hypocritical if they say that "we back up our claims".
@MrSauron93 IQ of 70 eh? Perhaps you should get yourself scored if you think that you paying for their product = Lyn Thompson going hunting. He is paid yes, but he would be hunting if he worked for an oil company, car company, plane maker, or any other company. It is not a unique argument. As for the sword breaker breaking a sword, I have a feeling the majority of people buying this item are not using it primarily to break swords on a regular basis.
Beating stuff is always fun but... It's called the Sword Breaker. Would it be possible to get a vid of you using this thing on a sword as it's namesake implies? It would be very interesting to see just how much you could screw up a katana or claymore.
@Spartan11s7n We obviously didn't want to show it breaking one of our swords and we thought it would be unfair to single out a competitor and break one of their products without justification. But we've always said, if someone wants to send us a sword, we'll happily break it :)
@csknives so if someone sent in one of your own swords, you'd break it? Surely you should just do this regardless as it would not be showing how weak your sword is, it just shows how good the sword breaker really is. What this statement shows is actually how cheap you are that you are not willing to prove a statement in an advert. Nevermind.

@oreowithmilk1 I asked about this. Apparently it went through the chain mail, through the target and into the wooden beam supporting the structure. It was lodged so deeply that Lynn had to bend and wiggle the Sword Breaker back out (bending the tip).
@oreowithmilk1 then i guess breaking cinder blocks, bricks, ice blocks, tiles, wood, steel drum, car hood, and chain mail doesn't prove anything these days common now what do you want to do chop boulders in half?
@soravsheartless i can do that with my 20 dollar katana i just bought at a asian thrift store. and they didnt "break" anything other than ice which is not half as hard as a metal sword.they stabbed all those things. chain mail is weak. and as for the tiles, there VERY fragile. so that didnt prove anything. i just dont think they should of been like "this sword is so strong" yada yada if the tip bent on some wood.
@oreowithmilk1 Take your 20 dollar katana and drive it so hard through chainmail and padding that it goes clean through (and several inches into a wooden beam behind them). Now wiggle and wrench that 20 dollar sword out of the wood. Please. Try and do that. Film it and share it for all to see.
@csknives it wouldnt go through. idk what your talking about i said it can go through chainmail. obviously it would break. dont come at me like that all sarcastic and shit, i buy your guys shit all the time dick. all i said was that it was breaking things that arent as hard as metal. see if i buy anything else from you guys.
I understand not breaking one of your swords; it would make the CS sword look bad if it broke and it would make the Sword Breaker look bad if it didn't. But at least break a competitor's sword!
@thefirespectrum We thought it would be unfair for us to single out a company and break their product. But we've always said, if someone wants to send us a sword. We'll break it :)
@darkmetalwing We are not going to break one of our own swords in our own demo video. As for another companys sword, we thought it would be unfair for us to single out a company and break their product. As I've said before, if anyone wants to ship us a sword, we will break it.
@mobekk it's pretty simple to understand. We obviously don't want to break one of our own swords in our own marketing. We also feel it's unfair to randomly select a competitor and break one of their products without justification. We've said from the beginning, if anyone wants to send us a sword, we will happily break it. We've conducted our own tests here at CS and we know exactly what this product is capable of. You on the other hand are speculating...and wrong :)

it's not a fucking ice breaker, it's a sword breaker. break some of your goddamned swords! lord knows you got a few lying around you could test it on!
@csknives unfortunately, I do not have any comparable material lying around to simulate a sword, or any rolled straw mats, bottles of colored liquid, or a butcher on speed dial. However, I am not trying to sell you anything, or make any videos proving that if I was it would be anything more than a large steel stick.
I was under the impression, given the elaborate 'tests' in the vid, and precedents in your others, that that was your job ;)
@csknives understandable, just like you should not test your other blades on actual living beings, which was their designed use. you should test them on rope and mats and boots filled with meat, which simulates the medium. I am sure you realize that a watermelon, plywood, and a can filled with water do not simulate the medium that your weapon was originally designed for. If you were to actually 'prove a point' about this sword being able to 'bend or shatter ordinary swords with a single blow'
@secretagentmann9 We've extensively tested this product and it's been used against (and severely damaged) a variety of swords. We obviously will not show it damaging our own swords and feel it would be unfair to break a competitors product. Perhaps we'll produce a video showing it destroying something appropriate in the future :)
@csknives well u posted video about a weapon/tool called and i guess u wanted to show how good ur product is ... i dont think i have to prove anything to you since im not trying to promote anything here. Looks like u have tons of products so i bet u could buy few cheap swords.. And i believe im not the only one thinking so. But then again i dont care anymore.
@Blackwing024 It's not a matter of expense. We thought it would be unfair to destroy another companys product without justification. Am I really not making this clear?
@csknives youre willing to destroy chain mail shirts, car bonnets, bamboo, mats, rope, a ridiculous amount of meat yet not demonstrate its intended purpose and main selling point to viewers? a sword manufacturer cant spare a sword? even a dare i say defect/previously damaged one? Chinese SWORD BREAKER. Not Chinese CARDBOARD STABBER!!!!!
@GeordieBiker422 We are not going to show this product breaking one of our own swords for obvious reasons and we felt it was unfair to single out a competitor and break one of their products without justification. We have always said though, if someone sends us a sword - we'll break it and film it :)
Why not either make a low-quality "dummy" sword, use either a competitor's sword or one of yours but remove all distinguishing markings, or just break a strip of steel of similar length, width, thickness and mechanical properties to a decent-quality sword blade?
I really don't fucking get the demonstrations of ice blocks and watermelons and jugs.... ANY fucking crude weapon can do that... If it sliced it perfectly or some shit, then yeah, but i can go in the backyard and grab a crowbar and have it do the same effect.
@SputniksArmy the Sword Breaker does not have a cutting edge (though it does have a needle sharp stabbing point). It is designed to hit things and hit them hard (it will do tremendous damage to a sword - as is it's intended purpose, but it also makes a very functional impact weapon). It is beautifully balanced, effective and functional. Not a "crude weapon" by any means
@csknives I didnt imply this weapon is crude. And not only with this weapon, but other weapons demos, you gs do cinderblocks and all that stuff, when it isn't much of a showcase when any weapon can do that, unless that sharp weapon cut it clean. It only does that because of the force/power.
@SputniksArmy I think you'd be surprised how many weapons sold by other companies can't do that. Force and power count for nothing if the product in question can't withstand the impact. Remember, we release our proof videos every few years but we do extensive product testing every single day. There's also a big difference between a crowbar that can smash stuff, and a fast efficient well balanced weapon that can do other things AS WELL AS smash stuff. Trust me, we know what we are talking about
@TheNukaColaQuantum When i saw that i started to think maybe the commertial are lies. maybe the warrior katana test was done with multiple katanas. =/ now i dunno if to buy one!
@jagmej Nah, cold steel do make real cool stuff, but I woudln't recomend their katanas because they are pricey and you can get better ones for the same price.
If you want a katana get one from Cheness, I recomend the O-katana or Tenchi.
It looks sort of similar to a weapon called a biān 鞭, or "steel whip" that police in Imperial China used to carry. They didn't want to actually kill drunk rich guys (who may have been "connected" to their bosses), but they wanted to destroy their weapons and disarm them. They weren't meant for battlefield use, they were really heavy, heavier than the version in this video. Bian were also blunt on the tip, not meant for piercing armor. Chain mail won't protect you much from a heavy club, though.
I agree with all the people who would like to see this actually break a sword or 3 at once or something, I love cold steel products, I'm sure this product can perform the task but I would love to see this break a sword please?
In most cases, sword Breakers are actually suppose to parry and "break the swing" of an incoming sword. They're usually not suppose to actually break the swords physically.
@MrBlah15000 they didn't do that because they would probably be using there own weapons and then if people saw the sword break they wouldn't buy that sword
They should make pit the weapons against each other. How does this thing deal with other coldsteel swords? How quickly can you handle it compared to other swords or a katana? How does the crushing power compare to a real club?
Because I'm sure when Chinese troops were defending against mongol armies, they diffinately took their perfectly good sword breaker and LAUNCHED it across the battlefield to some poor bastard's shield
Remember, this is no sword they're showing off. It's not a flat piece of metal at all. The "blade" geometry is shaped like an X. And a majority of the penetration tests looked like a complete sucess to me. Punching holes in a steel barrel, going right through a car hood, and piercing chainmail all the way to the thick backstop.
so they didnt break a sword?

@csknives it wouldnt go through. idk what your talking about i said it can go through chainmail. obviously it would break. dont come at me like that all sarcastic and shit, i buy your guys shit all the time dick. all i said was that it was breaking things that arent as hard as metal. see if i buy anything else from you guys.
oreowithmilk1 1 month ago
I understand not breaking one of your swords; it would make the CS sword look bad if it broke and it would make the Sword Breaker look bad if it didn't. But at least break a competitor's sword!

@thefirespectrum We thought it would be unfair for us to single out a company and break their product. But we've always said, if someone wants to send us a sword. We'll break it :)

@csknives y not one of your own swords or better yet "some shitty mass produced un named sword" ?
darkmetalwing 1 month ago
@darkmetalwing We are not going to break one of our own swords in our own demo video. As for another companys sword, we thought it would be unfair for us to single out a company and break their product. As I've said before, if anyone wants to ship us a sword, we will break it.

@mobekk what are you referring to?
csknives 1 month ago
@csknives the part about not wanting to brake a sword, it probably did not brake any in the test so you would not show it failing it.
mobekk 1 month ago
@mobekk it's pretty simple to understand. We obviously don't want to break one of our own swords in our own marketing. We also feel it's unfair to randomly select a competitor and break one of their products without justification. We've said from the beginning, if anyone wants to send us a sword, we will happily break it. We've conducted our own tests here at CS and we know exactly what this product is capable of. You on the other hand are speculating...and wrong :)

it's not a fucking ice breaker, it's a sword breaker. break some of your goddamned swords! lord knows you got a few lying around you could test it on!
secretagentmann9 1 month ago
@secretagentmann9 You send us a sword and we'll break it :)
csknives 1 month ago
@csknives unfortunately, I do not have any comparable material lying around to simulate a sword, or any rolled straw mats, bottles of colored liquid, or a butcher on speed dial. However, I am not trying to sell you anything, or make any videos proving that if I was it would be anything more than a large steel stick.
I was under the impression, given the elaborate 'tests' in the vid, and precedents in your others, that that was your job ;)
secretagentmann9 1 month ago
@secretagentmann9 We aren't going to break one of our own swords to prove a point.
csknives 1 month ago
@csknives understandable, just like you should not test your other blades on actual living beings, which was their designed use. you should test them on rope and mats and boots filled with meat, which simulates the medium. I am sure you realize that a watermelon, plywood, and a can filled with water do not simulate the medium that your weapon was originally designed for. If you were to actually 'prove a point' about this sword being able to 'bend or shatter ordinary swords with a single blow'
secretagentmann9 1 month ago
@secretagentmann9 then perhaps a piece of sheet metal or an steel rod would be appropriate.
secretagentmann9 1 month ago
@secretagentmann9 We've extensively tested this product and it's been used against (and severely damaged) a variety of swords. We obviously will not show it damaging our own swords and feel it would be unfair to break a competitors product. Perhaps we'll produce a video showing it destroying something appropriate in the future :)

GeordieBiker422 2 weeks ago 2
@GeordieBiker422 We are not going to show this product breaking one of our own swords for obvious reasons and we felt it was unfair to single out a competitor and break one of their products without justification. We have always said though, if someone sends us a sword - we'll break it and film it :)
csknives 2 weeks ago
@csknives

SputniksArmy 2 months ago
@SputniksArmy the Sword Breaker does not have a cutting edge (though it does have a needle sharp stabbing point). It is designed to hit things and hit them hard (it will do tremendous damage to a sword - as is it's intended purpose, but it also makes a very functional impact weapon). It is beautifully balanced, effective and functional. Not a "crude weapon" by any means
csknives 2 months ago
@csknives I didnt imply this weapon is crude. And not only with this weapon, but other weapons demos, you gs do cinderblocks and all that stuff, when it isn't much of a showcase when any weapon can do that, unless that sharp weapon cut it clean. It only does that because of the force/power.
SputniksArmy 2 months ago
@SputniksArmy I think you'd be surprised how many weapons sold by other companies can't do that. Force and power count for nothing if the product in question can't withstand the impact. Remember, we release our proof videos every few years but we do extensive product testing every single day. There's also a big difference between a crowbar that can smash stuff, and a fast efficient well balanced weapon that can do other things AS WELL AS smash stuff. Trust me, we know what we are talking about
csknives 2 months ago
@csknives I do believe you guys make amazing products, I'm just saying that's not the best demonstration for cutting weapons.

In most cases, sword Breakers are actually suppose to parry and "break the swing" of an incoming sword. They're usually not suppose to actually break the swords physically.
Intranetusa 4 months ago
@MrBlah15000 they didn't do that because they would probably be using there own weapons and then if people saw the sword break they wouldn't buy that sword
TheMultiJENK 1 month ago

thats wood not a sword. why is he wearing glasses cutting cardboard? does he wear em when he uses scissors too?
Wherethehellzarnie 4 months ago
They should make pit the weapons against each other. How does this thing deal with other coldsteel swords? How quickly can you handle it compared to other swords or a katana? How does the crushing power compare to a real club?

Its not that great at piercing you can tell as in the majority of the tests it fails to make complete cut through to the other side.
Xboxishomo 5 months ago
@Xboxishomo
