Jerry Sadowitz who appeared in Terry Hall's Terry Blair&Anouchka's video of Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes, complained that this video infringed his copyright,
I removed Jerry and replace his appearance with graphic animation. It's taken 5 months!
Although angry with Jerry, I am also grateful because, I would have never learned Adobe After Effects and animation.
Jerry's replaced by a number of colourful characters! Marc Bolan even makes an appearance! Bet he won't complain??!
I have this performance of Faint Hearts on video somewhere, but hadn't seen/heard it in years. A fantastic reminder of exactly how good the Colour Field were and why it was worth breaking up the Specials and Fun Boy Three to really arrive as a singer/songwriter with this band.
Roll on the Colour Field reunion. Incidentally wasn't Karl Shale in a band called The Candyskins in the 90s?
What on earth was Mr Hall thinking about doing The Colourfield? From The Specials to Wine bar music doing songs for the people in the Rat race who plan their conversations. Ah well.
What the hell are you talking about man? This was a natural creative progression for the king of cool. The best lyrics came from this genius boy around this time. You are living in a time warp irishskinhead - smell the latte!!
I never questioned the lyrical genius of Mr Hall, just his motive for the colourfield. Mr Hall and his well crafted lyrics went underground and dissapeared with colourfield. I seen an interview with Mr Hall after the colourfield and asked why we never smiled with the colourfied/specials he retorted "how could you smile with those band"
Yes I am in a time warp. Come on the intro to The Specials "little bitch" just rocks. And I drink tea (when sober) not latte.
All credit for this post - a bit stoned at mo. Loved V&P album when i was younger and that's the first time I've seen faint Hearts on screen - superb song superb version.
well..in the 2000's we laugh at american stupidity with george bush...back then..we laughed at american stupidity only it was ronnie mad dog reagan.....still..the home countries songs are stilll well ahead!!
infinitysplit..when was she your g/friend?? she was my kiss-a-gram girl for my 18th (1985) and a week later i saw her in `Legends` in Manchester, ended up snogging her again!!!!!!
Well worth viewing, the second track in particular is like a kind of organic development, with lots of influences in there. Like the way Terry Hall re-invented himself between the late 1970's and the mid 1980's. Very poignant to see Pete De Freitas.
Terry Halls Terry Blair And Anouchka single Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes is back up!

The drummer is Pete de Freitas (Pete Louis Vincent de Freitas, 2 August 1961 - 14 June 1989). He was a member of Echo & the Bunnymen at the time.
