  • Terry Halls Terry Blair And Anouchka single Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes is back up!

  • Jerry Sadowitz who appeared in Terry Hall's Terry Blair&Anouchka's video of Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes, complained that this video infringed his copyright,

I removed Jerry and replace his appearance with graphic animation. It's taken 5 months!

Although angry with Jerry, I am also grateful because, I would have never learned Adobe After Effects and animation.

Jerry's replaced by a number of colourful characters! Marc Bolan even makes an appearance! Bet he won't complain??!

  • always liked the specials funboy three and the colourfield terry hall has got a great voice and i grew up with his music

  • nice

  • i just had a revelation....this is pre beautiful south....but it is the beautiful south model,,,,god i think terr is fab and paul too

  • I have this performance of Faint Hearts on video somewhere, but hadn't seen/heard it in years. A fantastic reminder of exactly how good the Colour Field were and why it was worth breaking up the Specials and Fun Boy Three to really arrive as a singer/songwriter with this band.

Roll on the Colour Field reunion. Incidentally wasn't Karl Shale in a band called The Candyskins in the 90s?

  • great band, as are all that terry has fronted, virgins and philistines is a lost classic album, problely .

  • Great songs and band. They stand well on their own. Glad to find it on Youtube as i haven't been able to find this on CD.

  • Yes, ljp93 - it's Pete, our classy hero! Best "extracurricular" vid of him: China Doll by Julian Cope, YTube the vid - Pete stars in it!

  • where's all da colour........?

  • what the hell - ??? pete!!!

must of been one of the LOST weekends...

    what was he thinking???? hahahahahhaha

even so - he was still the best damn drummer in the world in the best band in the world EATB!!!!

  • What on earth was Mr Hall thinking about doing The Colourfield? From The Specials to Wine bar music doing songs for the people in the Rat race who plan their conversations. Ah well.

  • your part right in what you say,but were they that bad?

  • No they where not that. But I loved the specials more.

  • What the hell are you talking about man? This was a natural creative progression for the king of cool. The best lyrics came from this genius boy around this time. You are living in a time warp irishskinhead - smell the latte!!

  • I never questioned the lyrical genius of Mr Hall, just his motive for the colourfield. Mr Hall and his well crafted lyrics went underground and dissapeared with colourfield. I seen an interview with Mr Hall after the colourfield and asked why we never smiled with the colourfied/specials he retorted "how could you smile with those band"

Yes I am in a time warp. Come on the intro to The Specials "little bitch" just rocks. And I drink tea (when sober) not latte.

  • You seem to have missed out the Fun Boy Three. Nice to know you're a real fan.

    Ha ha

  • Ahem...Specials fan not a Fun Boy Three fan.

  • This is wonderful! Your right about the drummer... great skill!

  • what are karl shale and toby lyons now up to? anyone? cheers!

  • Toby Lyons is now a university tutor of graphic design at Sheffield Hallam University in South Yorkshire. I don't know about Karl Shale.

  • Tattle tale! That's the last time I snog you, you hear? :)

  • Hello Katrina,do you remember John from Birmingham,80-? What a laugh we had, thanks.

  • Email me please John rather than posting here? Cheers! (Check your messages)

  • wow! pete de freitas on drums? double wow!!

  • Well worth viewing, the second track in particular is like a kind of organic development, with lots of influences in there. Like the way Terry Hall re-invented himself between the late 1970's and the mid 1980's. Very poignant to see Pete De Freitas.

  • Thanks, Mike! Beautiful! I never had the pleasure of seeing Terry Hall live in any of his incarnations....so this was a real treat! cheers!
