  • And this is from the state that Dr. Sheldon Cooper came from. Way to go.

  • See see see!!!! Gay marriage completely destroyed the institution of marriage just like the fundies said would happen!!! Oh wait...

  • lol can not wait to see the Rick Perry parody of this one.

  • LLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWL

  • Damn it Texas. I love you, but why do you have to be anti-gay? Texas is a beautiful state with way too many homophobic religious idiots. *facepalm* Am I the only intelligent Texan?

  • Well, marriage from it's origins (in the Bible) is a God ordained union between a man and a woman, so gay marriage isn't even possible in the first place. I don't have anything against civil unions, but why would gays want to take advantage of Biblical traditions? I believe Elton John had a quote furthering my point. Yeah, ELTON JOHN. Btw, you're stereotyping of Texans was reflective of you're own intolerance, so it really takes a lot of hypocrisy to call others homophobic.

  • @TheWordOfLife1 You know, except for the fact that the marriage is ALSO a secular institution and the government isn't allowed to discriminate. Sure, any private institution (i.e. a church) can disallow their services to virtually whoever they choose, but that's not what the issue is. I think I remember a certain time when there were "separate but equal" institutions in place for African Americans, but we got rid of THAT.

  • @TheWordOfLife1 this would be great if it were academic, but unfortunately this topic involves my freedoms and those of future generations. I think Texas was on the right path, ban Marriage altogether and only allow Civil Unions to be recognised through law in its place. That way the bible thumpers can have marriage and it won't impinge on anyone elses freedoms :).

  • After seeing his views on this this guy is now my favorite person on youtube, lol

  • Marriage is self identical? Who'd of thought that? Not a Texan apparently.

  • @MAWMT and that what will only work for a time then end and then you ask ??

  • Water, water everywhere ,and not a drop to drink !

  • LMAO!

  • @RyanSkolnick it sucks to live in texas we get this type of crap when 95 percent of us are not totally insane

  • I love how religious nuts and right-wingers are always clamoring about how gay marriage threatens the preexisting rights of heterosexuals, and yet the only occurrence of rights being taken from heterosexuals resulted from a desperate and cruel attempt to prevent gays from having them, too.

  • Wait, am I the only person commenting on this video that's against all marriage in the legal sense?

  • @RainbowDashXSyndrome Yeah probably. Why do you want to take a right away from people... are you a communist?

  • @Ziggie1o1 I'm against it because I don't believe in signing legal contracts to prove you love someone. You're familiar with strawman fallacy. Something you tackled in your most recent video 2 hours after you posted...Irony? Because I don't want to do something means I should take those rights away seems to be what you present.

I'd at least hope you're smart enough to realize communism is an economic stance.

I'd argue my point more, but I've bored myself pissing on your already bloated ego.

  • @RainbowDashXSyndrome I was joking about the commie thing dude... but I do support marriage.

  • @RainbowDashXSyndrome And thanks for watching my videos :)

  • @Ziggie1o1 No problem, I actually liked it. Except your camera :( at least if you have a frown it will turn up-side-down!

  • @RainbowDashXSyndrome True. You should watch my Nephilimfree video, its much better than my other two.

  • @Ziggie1o1 Will do!

  • @RainbowDashXSyndrome why cus u cant find a counter part, uve neve rhad ur pee pee palyd with...ur a lonley person

  • @yomamalikeme1 If that insult were in english I bet it would be much more amusing.

  • This video is fcuking great. Haha :)

  • This should be up on the Fail Blog.

  • If homosexuals Americans wish for straight Americans to tolerate them then they have to tolerate straight Americans and the laws of land that are passed its quite simple. Laws of marriage go further than just two people living together Married couples with birth children get tax relief etc and the definition of Marriage is the holy union between one man and one women. I do believe there should be a Domestic partnership available as its not fair taking away someones right to show their commitment

  • @emoatnight

So sad ): Gay marriage is coming and there's nothing you're gonna do about it. It's in 6 states now, and withing the next few decades it will be all over the country, so go cry in a corner b/c equality's coming

  • @emoatnight

Is Marriage a RELIGIOUS institution OR a LEGAL institution?

If it is a *religious* institution then the state should make no law relating to religious matters - any more than it should make laws about baptism or Bar Mitzvah.

If, however, it is a *legal* institution - that affects our legal and tax rights - then it should have nothing to do with religion and should apply equally to all citizens - Hindu, Christian or Atheist; gay or straight - and should ignore religious definitions.

  • @EqualAndFree I was merely stating the *legal definition* of Marriage in the state of Texas and some other states, also you must remember The term Marriage and its definition was created long before the reign of governments and even theocratic states, and yes you are correct everyone should be equal in the receipt of tax credits hence the domestic partnership but by "definition" of marriage i was pointing out it would technically be impossible for two men or women to get married.

  • @emoatnight please note nowhere am i stating it is wrong or unnatural to be a homosexual i believe there is only one type of person and that is a homosapien, we also live in a democratic society in which the majority of people in Texas decided to ban gay marriage. If this is what the majority of people want then lets not take away there civil liberties just because you disagree with the outcome. I live in a area when homosexual marriage is perfectly legal and have nothing to say against it.

  • @emoatnight The English word "marriage" only dates back to 1300AD. There is no standard definition of marriage. In Tibet women marries a man and all his younger brothers. Marriage in the modern world certainly has nothing to do with marriage as it is described in the Old Testament - where an old man can buy several teenage virgins from their father for the price as a camel to use as his sex slaves. So tradition and history are irrelevant when it comes to deciding what marriage should mean today.

  • @EqualAndFree That's very interesting i was unaware of this i know that ceremonies of marriage and equivalent words have existed throughout recorded history and i wouldn't know about old testament or new testament i am not a christian and have not read the bible. I am well aware that modern day interpretation of the word has changed and it also varies from culture to culture for instance in some eastern cultures you can marry multiple women, but again what Texans are referring to is their...

  • @emoatnight cultural meaning of the word i also think that maybe you would find this YouTube video very interesting it is a non biased approach to this debate and about peoples opinions on the matter. wwwdotyoutubedotcom/watch?v=IjTtoMQ_5ZE this should be of some interest at least. p.s. you should probably know that i myself am Bisexual not that this should be relevant to the arguments i'm making in anyway. Also i am currently writing a theses on this topic area for a sociology and politics.

  • Texas... is there something worse? i dont think so

  • @MAWMT that is because of oil . the right wing only give a shit about money

  • @Contamuir17a Please tell me you are trolling...

  • And now Florida outlawed sex...hilarious: watch?v=SbD3Hidy1nQ

  • THERE IS NO MARRIAGE IN TEXAS! Lol!!!

  • Gay = happy. Texas banned happy marriage

  • Man, I love living in Texas, it makes me feel smart.

  • Texas is homophobic. end of story.

  • how those it feel to get a taste of your own huh rednecks?

  • @dog2547 most of us in texas arent rednecks just farmers gangsters and brown bannanas

  • If gays can't get married, NO ONE CAN!!!! GOD DAMN IT! IF GAYS AND LESBAINS CAN'T GET MARRIED, STRAIGHTS SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ETHER!!! I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT THE BIBBLE SAYS!! WE ARE ALL PEOPLE! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT ARE SEXUALITY IS SOCIETY TELLS US THAT WE CAN'T DO THAT OR THIS AND ITS KILLING US!!!!! WHEN PEOPLE TAKE THERE LIVES, THEY DIDN'T DO IT! SOCIETY MURDER THEM!! Stop judging others, remember what you learned, if you don't have anything nice to say, DON'T SAY IT AT ALL! as said ^_^

  • From here to there, from there to here, funny things are everywhere!

    -- Dr. Seus

  • Holy shit every Texan is an illegal. We should build a wall around them or something..

  • homosexuality is an obomination in the eyes of God idc if u belive me or not but i am a pentecoastal girl and i am a one name apostalic so why dont u get facts before u start saying obomination is ok

  • @MrIloveyourboyfreind So I guess you don't eat shellfish, pork or the like because they are abomination. I guess you live on a shack during your period and I also guess you don't cut your hair because all of those things are abominations. Pentecostal Please! get your facts straight. Leviticus is a damned LONG book of rules. I hope you keep your dairy dishes and pots away from the ones you use for meat for thats an abomination!

  • Whats with all the dipshits hating on Texas?

  • oh texas.. suck my strap on.. XD

  • KARMA MOTEHRFUCKERS!!

  • Wow, TheYoungTurks managed to make two lame videos on the the same tired, pandered subject- one being "Texas bans marriage!" and "Texas tries to ban oral sex!'. BOTH VIDEOS were uploaded in under a year of each other - can you say desperate?

What a lame YouTube channel. Is this really the best you hooknoses can do?

  • @madhazzer this video is Two YEARS old

    try again

  • @LobsterPotsticker

And that makes my points irrelevant how?

    Try again.

  • @madhazzer you asked if this is the 'best' they could do

no it's not the best they can do

this video is 2 years old and you've been directly pwned at least 67 other times

  • @LobsterPotsticker

Oh really, so you admit these liberals arent doing their best? Looks like you commie bastards could use a little motivation. Stay off the reefer you hippie maf!

  • no one takes it serious anymore might as well out law it

  • This video is retarded. The Young Turks suck!

  • @madhazzer Go away, troll! No one likes you.

  • If anyone votes to prevent gay people from marrying, they themselves are not worthy of the right either, so justice served. I wish.

  • they say you should not pass a law causing gay marrige because of the bible if so shouldnt you ban all religions except for christianity and judisim in america WHAT

  • yea i think you might be the stupidest person of all, thats not what it says at yall. and your a dumbass, and quit bashing texas

  • Sorry Cenk you're twisting words. Identical or similar to marriage doesn't mean marriage. Marriage is still legal.

  • @manmanguy But by proof of logic you can show that: "Since marriage is similar to marriage, and marriage is identical to marriage, therefore (then) marriage may not be created."

  • @Destructor2007 Marriage can't be similar to marriage as it would be a mirror of itself, therefore indivisible. Same with identical.

  • @manmanguy There are laws of logic which prove that any object is similar/identical/equals itself. The idempotent law rings a bell, but I don't think that's the correct law. I'll let you know when I can be assed enough to look up the exact law.

On a related note, do you really believe that people would have been "scrambling to fix this" if there weren't an issue?

  • @Destructor2007 Well as we've both shown, there are two schools of thought dealing with the wording of the subject.

  • @ContaMuir17a i agree, if heterosexuals are allowed to marry each other whats next?! people marrying animals? stem cells marrying abortions?

  • @ContaMuir17a well then thus ends the titles mother father wife husband inlaws

  • F A I L

EPIC FAIL if I ever saw one.

  • They can mary their sister but not their brother is the law America needs.

  • the jonas brothers are from Texas...I think we al know what the worst U.S state is

  • Everything is bigger in Texas, icluding their EPIC FAILS!

  • Holy Shit! I just found this clip! And I'm a loyal viewer! I am against marriage as a concept. I think it's a religious thing that the state has no business getting into. Besides, marriage is a beautiful institution, and I think you need to be crazy to be in an institution.

    Best...clip...ever!

    -Joe E Dangerously

  • well we all know in the times of the bible men where fucking other men up da wa su. before they had problems with it.... still cunts are better

  • did you check in the constitution...the name of the USA??/

    which is NOT America??

  • remember the ... alamnop..

  • I LOVE TEXAS

    FROM THE UK

  • Time for a slice of Texas fail toast.

  • nice work dumbasses! more proof of the failure inherent in bigotry.

  • That's the crazy state of Texas!!

  • Okay, I get it you've never been to Texas and were all Republican idiots.......Kiss my ass!

  • This guy is hilarious!

  • TEXAS, YOU FAIL.

  • self ownage.

  • Well, if the majority of Texans adhere to their self-proclaimed belief in "waiting until marrige", then that would be a vast improvement on the genepool.

    ;)

  • See! The gays DID destroy marriage!

  • @VocabWord ROFL! Proof positive of the dangers of gays and lesbians!

  • @VocabWord No.It seems that the straight people destroyed all marriage sense they voted against it. And said "recognized anything simular to marriage".I guess they have equality then. But then they must have bee saying "Marriage. What's going on?You can't take away from us.We're straight. You can take it away from them. Not us.WERE STRAIGHT.Yeah you can take from them though".I find it funny sense no one could get married.& the only people that were panicing where the straight people.

  • @PearceCTV I was only joking.

  • @VocabWord O.K. Some people are serious and they don't speak logic and I mass well be speaking another language.

  • @VocabWord Nah just the bigoted GOPs

  • Its even more awesome because its texas

  • theres nothing in the US consitution that says that gay marriage cant be banned lol

  • XD OMG LOL That's what people trying to ban shit get they mess up what they were trying to protect.

  • In one area of Norway where they wanted to do away with drinking early in the morning so they formulated a law that banned all serving of food and drink before 12 in in morning. Now in addition to kids being denied to buy lunch at school, elderly could not be served breakfast and it was generally a mess. That law was reworded rather quickly :P

  • Yay Texas ....

  • @richboyakamoneyman You know, 8 months on, I still come back to this and laugh at your stupidity. I mean, Christ, that is just so fucking dumb. Keep it up :D

  • i dont know why they wont call it marriage if that is exactly what it is, two people devoting their life 2 one another for better or worts till death do us part, and all the damn divorcing goin on by str8 people they dont follow the till death do us part clause, so why do they get say we will destroy the sactity of marriage when divorce is doing it. not two people in love, we know how to live to why is everyone fucking with out rights? the same 1s you have? i thought we were all created equal?

  • oh texas....

  • hahahahahahha

  • Texas needs to be turned into a zoo. At least then their idiocy would be entertaining.

  • can u really call texans people i present bush as an example

  • @sirshmooppy

Hey now. Believe it or not, there are incredibly reasonable people down here. Although, I do feel a bit out of place, being a logical, scientifically-minded liberal agnostic here. But I'm certainly not alone.

  • @sirshmooppy shut up

  • Coming from a life long Texan.......... No Comment

  • @scottcain2005

Ugh, I'm from Texas too.... And this is just embarrassing.

  • @hitheresunshine dude this really didnt happen did it?

  • @crankdathigh

    Yeah. It happened.

  • FAIL on epic proportions

  • Hell Yeah!

  • EPIC FAIL! xD

  • Marriage is a joke, it should be outlawed. A large majority of so called "parents" are clearly too ignorant to raise children. "It takes a village."

"Institutionalized incubation communes" to raise children would provide accountability, openness, and uniformity.

Aside from raising children, marriage is essentially a mini-corporation, reaping large benefits which are denied from the unmarried.

Seperation of church and state. Keep marriage out of my government, completely!

  • @morseson ...su.

  • Comment removed

  • This is hilarious news. Now in Texas you'll have to LIVE IN SIN! HA!! No need to ban divorce for straights if they can't marry. That'll bring down the population a bit!

  • This is funny because a massachusettes judg e ruled gay marriage ban unconstitutional and is trying to appeal it. Now that we actually get somewhere with this, you all just say that we're wrong anyway? You know all you have to do is say 'Oops we fucked up, our bad but no hard feelings, right? And hope we don't ban your marriages, your tabs being pulled and it's time to pay the bill. Be careful breeders not all of us are as stupid and air-headed as you think.

  • It is so stupid because a gay man and a gay woman can get married and they can still be gay. This issue is about prejudice even if people disguise it as not to be so. There are still people who are not happy and they want others not to be happy. All you need is love!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Dumbasses!

  • The Texas Triangle (Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and Fort Worth) should secede and let the rednecks in the other parts of the state run a theocratic, Christian nationalist government.

  • @PhyreManDan so they don't have a right to how they want marriage to be defined? If gays want the right to marry, they can marry in another state.

  • @bbgum12345 By that same logic, did the South (pre 1964) have the right to oppress African Americans they way they did with the Jim Crow laws? Because those were overwhelmingly supported by the South (times have not changed). Just because the majority approve, doesn't make it right.

  • LMAO @ "What We Done!" HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • lol stupid prejudicing Texan's, they're polling the same shit they did during the civil rights movement except now with gays instead of blacks

  • @pwninator345 it's hilarious that people imply that this gay marriage issue has anything to do with civil rights. Nobody is born gay, yet people cannot help what race they are. Don't insult African Americans by saying that this is the same thing. Besides, I haven't heard of any gay people getting burning crosses on their lawns or getting lynched.

  • wtf theas pepoel are idiots

  • ...

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA.

    i'm done now :)

  • How long will it be before accepting gay marriages is a federal law so the hard-headed "conservative" idiots in the south don't get their way? I'm tired of all this BS. It seems like we go debating the civil rights of one minority to the next.

  • @awsomenesscaleb it's not a civil rights if you choose to sleep with your gender as opposed to being born a black person.

  • @bbgum12345 You don't choose to be gay, yes you should to sleep with someone but that is a different thing. Are you gay? because if you are not, I don't understand how you can say that you don't choose to be gay. I am, that's why I can tell everyone that I did not choose to be gay. I just don't like women and I am not going to pretend I do just to please a stupid society.

  • @bbgum12345

Being black is not something one has control over, but neither is one's sexuality. It is simply a natural occurrence within a person, and socially restricting its practice will not reduce its prevalence, but only impede the dignity of those unfortunate enough to live in a society that disdains them.

It is a civil right of Americans to not be disparaged by rights not specifically given to them. Banning homosexual marriage on an unjustified social and moral basis goes against this.

  • @awsomenesscaleb

Wow great idea. I wonder how many queers have to get killed in backward states such as Bama, GA, etc before they would repeal such a federal law.

We have states rights for a reason- these "hard-headed conservative idiots" are the majority in such states. You choose not to live around them, but complain about them getting out to the polls and getting their voice heard? Imposing such laws on the minority will do nothing but waste more federal taxes on "hate crime" gay bashings.

  • haha that's what happens if you try to take humanrights from gay-people

i hate texas for their intollerance (for sure not every single person :D)

  • thats good, marriage shouldent be in the states jurisdiction

  • This is the best clip on TYT, ever.

    That is my ruling.

  • @VeritasTruthEmet One thing he is wrong about. You can not compare the outrage of 'straight' couples being told their marriage is invalid, to gay marrage having theirs denied. Since the begining of USA gay marriage was unheard of, so it makes sense for our ancestors to not include anything on how to handle this crap. Until about 50 years ago, so straight marriages have a long history in USA. So, we need compromise, simple way (continued)

  • @shadowwbn (continued) simple way would be to officially give gay's the right to engage in marital affairs with the exact same benefits and liberties given to straight couples. BUT, out of respect for straight couples and the history of 'marriage', it needs a different name. Life Partner, Marital Union, or whatever else anyone thinks up. This should satisfy both sides of this issue in a effienct manner. Its either this or strip all benefits given to married couples making marriage just a title.

  • The devil is in the detail LOL

  • Goes to show you how stupid and obsessed they are.

  • Yay! Move to Texas and you don't have to pay alimony!

  • @lambdaofbacon

We dont pay state taxes either.

    bwahahahaha

  • This is sweet.
