  • Fucking Sweet! How many horses on LS1 ? Differentail Gearing?

  • @djhitman323 The LS1 back then was stock, dyno'd 323 rwhp with a 3:73 rear end.

  • 2 sweet sleepers!

  • @dateef Thank you greatly!

  • Did you have to customize your engine mounts to get the ls1 in there??? thinking about dropping one in my 85 four door

  • @boyerwins Yes, custom motor mounts were needed on my car, but the guy that did the swap made his own instead of buying the expensive aftermarket ones offered.

  • damn i got a 81 2 door impala an my brother talks shit on me cuz he has a 97 eclipse GSX wit a 16g turbo and all decked out under the hood and always tells me that my car is to heavy and will never keep up this just gave me hope

  • Holy shit! a 12 second Caprice!! Badass!!!

  • @GhostAvenger620 Thank you, hope to break into the 11's this year.

  • ive got a 96 impala ss what would be involved and ballpark cost for an ls conversion? i mean i know id need a better rear and stronger trans

  • @bergaflickal It would be cheaper then you with think. Just hop on LS1Tech .com and there are all sorts of people that have done the swap, there are even companies that sell the motor mounts for your car to make the swap easier. It can be done for less then what goofballs spend on their huge booming stereo's or retarded huge "rimz" haha

  • @HenryInKC IF YOU LIKE YOUR ENGINES WHY CAN'T PEOPLE LIKE THE BOOMING SYSTEMS AND OR RIMS IT'S THEIR SHIT RIGHT?

  • @MrDirectorjay Retarded huge "rimz" serve no purpose. They look stupid, make the car ride like crap, wear out suspension parts quicker, and make the car slower. Booming stereo's are "ok" when the general public doesn't have to be bothered with the noise of the bass, but money is better spent on doing engine performance since it at least serves a purpose.

  • Dang!! I might get back into it and find a LS2 motor in the junkyard and find another 94 Caprice and throw it in there and have some fun with it. Get the motor rebuilt and a little bigger cam and 3.23 gears.

  • @BNforever2009 I say go for it, tons of guys are doing the 94-96 body style Caprice/Impala on LS1Tech.com with good results.

  • I love my lincoln but the transmition they come with is garbage.. I have a 87 mark VII on 20"s

  • @Maktrevino Any transmission is not going to perform well with huge monster truck wheels like 20"s.

  • @Maktrevino transmition lol

  • WHO WON

  • @KILLABLOUNT The video is hard to hear, but the announcer at the end of the video says 12.89 @ 102 mph for the Chevy and 13.26 @ 111 mph for the Lincoln. So technically I was quicker through the 1/4 mile, but no doubt my buddies twin turbo is the faster car, he just missed a shift.

  • first caprice ive seen without 26'' rims in a while. must say very nice set up gotta love the ls1

  • @DerekSkater11 Thank you very much! Glad to see there are still people out there that can appreciate these cars when they are not ruined/hacked up, with big retarded "rimz" or large stereos and bass boat paints.

  • @HenryInKC

Yes sir. I live in a small country town and surprisingly there are 4 of them with huge rims with the fender-well cut out, and paintjobs advertising things like skittles, sprite, etc. its pretty sickening to do that to these cars, but atleast you can show everyone what the caprice is good for!

  • @DerekSkater11

Its a sad shame, ALL the Caprices around here have been hacked up with food advertisements on them -.- Hopefully some are spared and live long looking beautiful in stock form for decades to come.

  • @HenryInKC

You have no idea; I too love seeing cars like this in their normal glory. They look good /as is/!

  • @markVIIchick Thank you for your support as well, excellent taste. =)

  • @HenryInKC those other people are just making their car personal just as you have....that ls1 wasnt stock just like those rims werent

  • @BlacKJesu5 There is a difference between making a car personal and hacking it up and ruining it. and you are correct the LS1 did not come stock in the Caprice, but it was a Stock motor from a 98 Trans Am. When money and time allow, I do plan to start modifying the engine though. Maybe this summer.

  • @HenryInKC hey to each his own...i dont like rims larger than maybe a 20 or 22 and even those are pushing it but do what you want clean whip tho

  • Respond to this video... sel me the ls1for the low

  • @BlacKJesu5 You can find good deals on LS1's all the time on the website LS1Tech.com

  • Hey man, I see your running at KCIR? I've got a Lincoln too. I'd like to know more about your friends set up if possible..

  • @Fireshaker9117 Sure thing, search for username HOTRODLLSC on here and send him a message.

  • good run man, I love that car, I'm still tinkering with my 77 with the LT1 swap. Be ready this summer.

  • @CSXRockford Thank you kindly, I too have a soft spot for the rare 1977,78,79 "Areo Coupe/Fastback" Caprice's/Impala's and one reason why I still have the car after 15+ years. Keep up the great job on your 77 by the way!

  • @HenryInKC yea those 2 door caprices look badass

  • That old caprice is a 1st class street sleeper!!! I'd leave it just the way it is. Healthy old girl!!!! Take care

  • @vabch82 Thank you kindly ! She will stay the same for the most part, maybe just some improvements on her tune or something, we will see.

  • That Caprice is fast!!!

  • @stayunique91 Thank you kindly, I hope to gather up some money from the holidays and help improve the 1/4 mile performance this next season.

  • @HenryInKC I got to give you props. Sleeps are where its at. haha.

  • @stayunique91 Thank you greatly, I too, have been a fan of Sleepers for quite some time.

  • this makes me sad. I have an 89 caprice that is SOOOOO clean but its not running so good :( i dont live with my dad so i dont have the tools and the knowledge how to fix it. He put a new 350, trans, suspension in it too....

I have a video of it if you like to see also. On my page

  • @MarioLoco03 Don't let it make ya sad, let it be an inspiration man. I have owned the car over 15 years now (it was my very first car I purchased with my own allowance money), and through those 15 years, it has been in non-running condition for at least half of the time (I am broke, so I work with friends and/or shops that let me pay as I go).

If you want it bad enough (every dime I have goes into my cars, no vacations, no new clothes, no going out to eat, no concerts, etc) you can do it.

  • @HenryInKC I've decided to keep the caprice :) untill i can get some money together to fix it :D even though its a beater car right now id like to keep it for a long time....love that gas guzzler

  • @MarioLoco03 Good to hear man, you will be glad you kept iti !

  • That is the BEST sleeper i've ever seen!

  • @Obsoliit Thank you. Both a great examples of sleepers. =)

  • Nice pair of sleepers.

  • @Evilliboba Thank you kindly !

  • Chevy All Day

  • @704Ch3vyBoi Thats right ! =)

  • @HenryInKC and you kno it i gotta 79 Impala my self 1 day ill put a ls1 or ls3 in it!

  • Thats not no stock LS1 pushing that car like that.

  • @JayGeePee1 I can assure you the LS1 is stock. The limited slip 3:73 and Stall Converter are what helps it get down the track.

  • @HenryInKC - Thats right I didn't think about stalling and the gears. I had an 93 5.0 with a stock motor and 4:10 gears in the rear. That thing would run like a scalded dog up to 100mph. I use to woop up on my buddies 5.0 which had about 300whp with trickflow heads, cam, and intake. So now that I think about it, I can see your car moving like it does up the track. Nice job taking a twin turbo Lincoln out by the way.

  • @JayGeePee1 Thanks !

  • what is the caprice pushin?

  • @texasred1989 The Caprice has a stock 98' LS1, in a 3800 lbs car.

  • sweeeeet;

  • @bigbadbronco86 Thanks !

  • Nice cars guys. Hey this is the track on noland rd. Ind-mo. I live in overland park. I use to go their all da tyme. Nice vid.!

  • @redthunder8486 Thank you for the compliment !

  • Haha sweet. I'm in Olathe.

  • @turb0ks You may have seen our cars then.

  • the only...stick...lincoln around these here parts...hahaha i busted out laughing when he said that. great box chevy btw, im looking for an LS motor for my '88 box.

  • Straight, Clean, and FAST, not a chevy fan but very impressed, what all does it have done to it, and forget the 700r4, run good but dont last, get a powerglide 350 tranny, and through you a ford 9 inch rear end under it, itll be untouchable haha, but seriously nice car

  • LS1 engines are good one, i got it in my ride. I'm thinking for LS2 or L98 now

  • Nice run, that LS1 caprice is one hell of a sleeper!

  • Thank you! You have a nice Monte too by the way.

  • nice caprice man! def got the sleeper attitude to it

  • Thank you very much sir!

  • is that Uncle TED in the background announcing for the BBQ meat place?

  • Yeah sounds good I'm from independence so maybe I'll see u out at the tracks when they reopen it. Keep up the good work.

  • Love both of those cars. What else do plan on doing to that caprice?

  • Thanks ! My only plans for my Caprice is maybe some spray some time next year. I would like to mess with the tune as well and get it in the mid 12's on the stock motor.

  • Add a 700R4 Trans. It"ll drop your 1/4 mile and make cruising down the highway at 70 mph only 2000 rpms. quick Caprice though.

  • I would love to get an overdrive trans, that is a future goal of mine. Thanks for the compliment by the way !

  • that's good the anouncer guy said only 5 speed in these parts he almost said ever i'd say no cuz i got one tremec 6 speed in my 89 mark 7 but im in wa st way better than a automatic even built auto

  • An intercooler! Hell, that thing doesn't need no damn intercooler! And that Caprice is needing something. I heard it's got a race against some nitroused mustang that supposed to be FAAASSSTTTT!!!

  • he's got a twin turbo and a 5-speed and he lost like that? either he lied to you, or he can't drive... or both.

  • The owner of the Lincoln is one of my best friends. He missed a gear, the Twin Turbo Lincoln Mark VII is stock 5.0 liter. My friends personal best is 12.1 @ 114.06 on 17lbs with race gas. I wish like hell he would put a intercooler and a stalled Auto trans in the darn thing. lol

  • Yeah, I lied AND can't drive. Silly me for telling people I have a twin turbo lincoln and then going out not knowing how to drive. I really should know my place. What do you have again?

  • um i have a 91 mark vii bb and i really wish i had a 5spd and those turbos :p hahaha sweetass car man.

  • so what all you got on ol christine? im just jumping into the Caprice game but Im used to my 470rwhp Cobra so I need to know what to do to get some speed haha, yours looks pretty damn quick.

  • So far Christine (my Caprice) has a stock LS1 from a 98 Trans Am in it....but I have more in the works though for spring. =)

  • thats it... you just threw a bone stock LS1 into a Caprice frame and came out with high 12s low 13s?

  • Yea, basically lol. Its just a stock LS1 backed by a TH350 (stalled) tranny, 3:73 posi and some M/T DR's.

  • you must have a crazy stall.. you do much street driving with it?

  • Its around a 3000 stall and its mostly a 1/4 mile car, just putting down the highway shes turning around 3500 rpm lol. I only take her out on nice days. I have put only about 10k on her in the last couple years.
