  • free weights all the way machines for the most part=caca! LOL at the comment on doing different exersizes your muscles adapt thats what the increase in weight is for if you progressively increase the weight you won't really need to change it up so frequently

I found myself at the start going up 10-15 pounds every week for benchpress I started at 110 until I hit about 170 for reps in a few months and I could not pass that no matter how much I challenged my body. This is where I needed different chest exercises.. switched from benchpress and dumbell press to cable pulls and chest flys.. helped alot.. now i'm starting to gain again.

  • Yea, it's ez to fall int a workout routine that doesn't challenge ur muscles any more.

  • Strange as it is, I often find myself falling into workout routines. I know that results can decline when the body gets bored with repititious workouts, and keeping it varied can prevent muscles that don't get worked from getting lazy. But I can feel my body telling me when it needs to work out, and it tells me that it likes certain things, thus starts my routine.

  • Keep in mind that the flesh is your enemy in your quest for fitness. Of course it's important to distinguish the difference between 'good' and 'bad' pain, but as a general rule, focus on the things your body hates the most and force it to adapt. Throw yourself completely into pain and embrace it like a long lost lover; only then will you really see fantastic results.
