Well no i got 2 docks on ebay and amazon but both are not giving volume output. its strange that i am not gettng volume output on both. Or is there any possibility of a bug ?

@prankz55 I'm not sure I'm clear, are you trying to output audio from the dock? Can you tell the dock models you're having trouble with?

Well i got a dock from eBay and as soon as i plug in my phone no volume is available on the phone ... The volume comes back only when i unplug it from the dock... Is it happening because its fake ?

@prankz55 Hmmm, that is strange because the Apple docks still allow the iPhone to output volume. Is it an Apple Dock? Some of the docks will ask if you want your iPhone put into Airplane mode which will silence it. Is your iPhone going into Airplane mode?

I would get the Universal dock, especially if you have a case, the opening is bigger.

Get a incase slider case it's cool because u can remove the bottom and put it in your dock without removing the whole case.

I did get the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel which comes with a dock adapter for the universal dock. I did have the incase slider for a short-time.

Nothing, I just like the Switcheasy better because it has a more protective inner silicone layer.

You can change it via a USB connector to the computer, or connect the USB cable to a power adapter (which is included when you buy the iPhone).

I didn't make a video, but there isn't much to review, it works great. To be honest, I'm not using it for the iPhone anymore since I have a SwitchEasy case on the phone. That means i need to use the Universal Dock with an adapter so I don't need to take the case off.

50 bucks total waste of money griffin and a fw other companys have way better dopcks for less but, i wanted omething apple and, was my first time at the apple store so i went all out lololol

its nice, again not worth 50 bucks, but makes my 3gs look nice and i can put the riffin reveal case on it too

I have considered the Griffin universal dock with the media slots, which adds some functionality for less cost. However, the Apple dock is not just a USB dock, but an A/V dock (which is not important to me with the Apple TV present).

Ultimately, I wanted the Apple product because of the quality and design.

In the end, I primarily use the Universal dock rather than the iPhone dock because I have a clear Speck case on the iPhone 3GS which is not convenient to remove for docking.

I would recommend the Universal dock before the iPhone 3G/3GS dock simply because it is adaptable over time and allows you to dock without taking off the case. If you don't have any iPods and don't plan to use a case, then you will save a few bucks by buying the dedicated iPhone dock. And yes, it's worth the money because it's much easier to dock, therefore you can keep it docked more often.

The universal dock is probably best since it's wider and more stable. The iPhone dock actually shrank from the previous gen. Most of the time, I don't knock it over ;)

No, you have to jam the 3G phone into the original iPhone dock and it usually pops right out.

The iPod Touch isn't in this video, just the iPhone and iPhone 3G. The iPod and iPhone 3G do have similar silicone sleeves however. This is the first time I've had the original iPhone on camera.
