@Chrispy854 Those engines are GE/Snecma CFM56-5Cs that have only 34,000lbs thrust. That is why it was outsold by Boeing's 777 that has excellent takeoff performance.

cathay's cabin in these A340 definitely needed to be renewed. i flew with cathay's A343 to toronto and it was horrible..old and worn out seats
