  • Thats great. What's better is vocals only...

  • ed must be using super light picks here you cant even hear him strum on the main riff

  • birth of a nation..heavy..!!!

  • TONE!!!!!

  • is this just reverb or reverb and delay on the guitar here? to me I just hear a shit ton of reverb

  • @metachozoite the guitar is panned 1 way and the reverb delay chorus panned hard the other way makes a huge one guitar sound

  • @outtacastatv Do you know have any idea how they did that? That sounds sick.

  • @darthvaderyoda you pan the guitar hard right and pan all the outboard fx hard left its a great trick sounds huge no need to double up dont think vh thought of this but his guitar on the first albums sound sick

  • @outtacastatv Theres a pre delay on the reverb. Probably about 250ms before the reverb starts, gives it that slap back feel and seperates it from the effect.

  • THANK YOU SOO MUCh for making the guitar only version . Gives a damn about axel . Eddie is the man that made every song come alive .. Thank you for evolving and taking guitars to even greater heights that no1 ever dreamed possibl.. L . O . V . E and Rock N Roll Baby

  • This rift sounds like you're on top of the world!

  • his tone sounds a lot like my peavey tube amp, did he use a peavey?

  • @ihatebobsaget1989 He used Marshall's in these years but he did have signature Peavey amp much later called the 5150 which is now the 6505. And now he is using his "Fender/EVH" 5150 III.

  • @ihatebobsaget1989 van halen 1 is 100% marshall amps

  • SEXY AS ALL HELL!!! ROCK ON EDDIE!!! OHHHH YEAHHH!!! He's one of the reasons I picked up a guitar, and still is to this day, as Im sure a lot of you listening to this were and are still inspired by his playing!! ROCK IT OUT!!!!

  • FYI- THE MUSIC STARTS at :30

  • these iso tracks really alloy you to hear the ed's playing dynamics and marshalls tone!

  • fantesticle

  • I could never figure out how he could move through those chorus chords without hearing the pick attacks and the fingers move on the strings. Just pure chords. Almost soft sounding.

If you listen closely, it sounds like he turns some effect on just before every chorus. I used to think it was just rolling the volume back up, now I'm not so sure.

  • @pflo99 First you here there are less distotion on the part before the chorus, so it just Must be the volume on the guitar,,,He often talks about that. and there are no extra Phasing effect, Just my conclution :)

  • @dnabiologic its all in dynamics Im pretty sure.....If you turn down the volume you can do it that way,....I like to use the distortion on my amp for this song, the top of the tube allows me to play soft enough to get a decent sound and if I turn the volume down on the guitar it works beautifully...

  • @pflo99 thats what I always thought too.....I always thought it was the volume on the guitar.....I didnt hear the effect change though..But I THINK he plays lighter and turns the volume on his guitar down a bit....just by ear thats what seems to work right for me...that is my humble opinion however...

  • UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE

  • How did you make it guitar track only? Did you use Audacity, if you did tell me how to do that?

  • @codyjt5150 no .... guitar hero Van HAlen

  • My first impression of the band....
