I've learned these exercises from Isshinryu teachers; I can say that these exercises ARE legitimate but if you think you are learning all you need to know you will only hurt yourself. My experience, which is small, comes from karate, judo, wrestling, brazilian jujitsu and boxing. No style is complete, train to perfect your movements; and you will perfect your fighting
Most suffer over the unpleasant conduct of others ,feeling self-pity and wounded self-importance .We must endeavor to Transform suffering by 'bearing the unpleasant manifestations of others' as a spiritual exercise,i.e.,WILLINGLY,VOLUNTARILY and without any feeling of victimization or discomfort!
SO the movement and the breathing simultaneously create distractions in order to train oneself to stay in double attention in normal societal situations?

Gurdjieff warned against breathing exerises.
Self remembering exerises are good, but leave breathing exerises to schooled Gurdjieff people. Don't risk your health.
