As soon as Dick Armey touched the TEA parties and John Tate of C4L got up there and said nothing about our empire when talking about the financial drains on our nation was enough proof for me that I sould just put my nose back in books and the TEA party gig is not going to lead to a limited gov't, but more ratings for Glenn Beck. It is based in fear of Obama, Van Jones, and ACORN which are not a problem, but an expected result. Too much fear in this for something productive to come of it.
There has to be a better way to have voices heard though in 2009 than old school standing outside with poorly made poster boards with a short barely meaningful slogan.
I'm as Libertarian as you can get, but, I have a job and don't have the time or inclination to drive far to try and get on TV waving a sign.
We must make a presence somehow. It was a great chance for the interns to experience something like this and teach people about the LP. We passed out a ton of literature to a lot of people who have never heard about us. If you are too busy to do activism like that, you can always do other things. We need to use our comparative advantages to all help the movement.
True true, just frustrated w/ how much more funding and exposure the "old two" get. Sadly, until big business starts throwing money at the Lib party the way they do for Dems and Repubs, its a difficult fight for publicity. I still only have ~200 subs now, but perhaps later as I pick up a few more I'll vlog about a Lib event. =)
We also had a large amount of success with people at the 9/12 rally in Kansas. I think we got 4 people to change their party voter status to Libertarian and a list of 30+ people who wanted more information and to join our e-mail list for events.
What I really admire about the Libertarian Party is that I can smoke weed and they respect that choice.

Libertarian Party is the party US needs. Democrats and Republicans are turning people into slaves.

Ha. Amen. All the republicans there were only there because a democrat is in office. Yet they don't realize Obama is just mimicking what bush did.
