Dawkins appearing to be "stumped" by this question is now a central part of Creationist folklore when all it shows is the bankruptcy of Creationism as science.
Anybody who has actually read Dawkins, knows that his actually being "stumped" by this question is about as likely as Stephen Hawking being stumped by a question of high-school algebra.
Creationists don't bother to read his work yet criticize it anyway... they watch videos and draw conclusions from a what someone does not say.
Please study a little harder. There are many theories of Evolution not just one. You have combined them all under the term "evolutionists believe" . Evolutionists from one theory do not agree with evolutionists from another. You have been taught that they all agree. Wrong. There is one huge flaw in all the theories. Things get better the more you break them (mutate). This violates the 2nd LAW of Thermodynamics. You are confusing mutation with variations within a genome.
@quiverfiller Actually evolutionists contribute to this, they use their "big bag of answers", pulling from different versions of evolution, to what suits the discussion most.
For example- the fossil record doesn't show a progression of dawinian evolution, as such evos use punctuated equilibrium, yet punctuated equilibrium cannot occur as large amounts of large mutations are mathematically improbable, and are less likely to be passed on, so the evos switch back to Dawinism... Its equivocation

He answered this over 10 years prior to interview in The Blind Watchmaker in 1986 pg 172-175. To suggest he couldn't answer is dishonest!
He paused due to the realization that he was duped into an interview with creationists!
Also, here's a vid of him talking about it

ok? so what was the purpose of RNA before proteins were developed?
rubantin 1 year ago
What came first DNA or Proteins?
rubantin 1 year ago
@rubantin probably DNA, but RNA and ribozymes came before both of those.

@ScientiaVeritasEtLux How did the ribosomes come about when it are the ribosomes that put proteins together in the first place... :p

@Gilbertus1986
Try researching something before you make such an open question on youtube. It's a long winded answer and you need to know the basics first...

Ordinarily, when richard dawkins gets "STUMPED" it's usually down at the bath house by a fella named Pegleg Pete.
