  • The UED must be getting suspicious, since they haven't heard of their small fleet for some time, the remnants never came back

  • In the beginning, UED tactics were formidable, they crushed the Domanion ( who were already starting to weaken) and conquered korhal and enslaved the Overmind, how ever, the surviving powers tried to defeat it and did, it took all of the korulupa sectors powers to crush just 1/10 of a UED fleet, and there is 10 fleets

  • We will see the UED in HoTS so get prepared

  • Anyone else get reminded of the news report from Star Troopers by this???

  • I like how the the terrans or even the protoss didn't even bother Carpet nuking/planet cracking Char. Makes sense.

  • only millions?

  • What does he say between "And now the directorate forces have taken control of the planet Char" and "And it [Overmind] was believed to be planning the invasion on the Earth itself?

  • lol "completely decimated". "decimated" means killing 1/10. no wonder zerg pwn UED in the end

  • UED's moto should've been "Arbeit - Macht - Frei"

  • @FlammieLL godwins law as ordered

  • @Zanazuah At that point the zerg hadnt destroyed the fleet

  • Why did the end of a propaganda report make me 10% cry?

  • @LibertarianismRyan

maybe because Stukov was awesome and his funeral touched you a bit?

  • SERVICE

    GUARENTEES

    CITIZENSHIP

  • According to the game sources, DuGalle's 2nd Fleet task force that was sent to the Korpulu Sector was only 1/10 the size of a standard UED Fleet... and apparently, the United Earth Directorate has 10 Fleets. Still, with such a 'small' force, DuGalle was able to screw the Dominion several times over, punch the Protoss in the face, and finally conquer Char and subjugate the Overmind.

I don't know about you guys but I'd like to see what a Full UED Fleet can do.

    For Humanity! XD

  • @SANCTIOND ... they still had thirty battlecruisers from the Dylarian shipyards, though, and local production.

  • starship troopers immediately comes to mind when this vid begins.

  • @jakeisawesome91

including the whole part with a spaceship having a specific place to launch the dead from

  • part propaganda, part report

  • YAY!

  • zerg casualty counter go past 1.6 trillion.....

  • Wonder what happened to Stukov.

  • @johnzkeePW: According to the canon literature he was infested, served as a lieutenant to Kerrigan and was later de-infested.

  • @kuroshashu

    no after his de-infestation.

  • @johnzkeePW: Wait; he was a lieutenant to Kerrigan after the de-infestation? That's more than a little odd...

  • @kuroshashu

no actually i was asking what happened to him after he become infested, de-infested, then after that. where is he now

  • @johnzkeePW: Oh, right. I've no idea. I don't suppose there's much of a UED force for him to return to....

  • @kuroshashu \

    :(

  • @kuroshashu I think there's a fleet on Earth. The fleet Stukov was with was just the Expeditionary Fleet, it wasn't the whole UED Fleet, but I think it was kinda dumb for the UED to attack, but I guess they had to defend themselves against threats like the Zerg.

  • @duskcrawler: You're probably right; and even if it was the bulk of the UED fleet, they've had as long to rebuild as all the other factions.

As for the sense in attacking; I guess the UED used a similar argument to the one in the video above; when aliens are attacking then there's no sense in having humanity divided. Presumably the UED represents the largest single human faction, probably the majority in fact, so it's natural that they should lead.

  • @kuroshashu You're right, because the UED had no choice but to attack because of threats like the Zerg to pacify the Dominion, the Overmind, and the Protoss. What they wanted wasn't really evil, it just wasn't right for everyone, namely the Protoss. As for the UED Expeditionary Fleet, it was indeed relatively small. They mostly assimilated surviving enemies into their military. So, the remnants of the three fleets pretty much lost because of numbers. But the UED will probably return with Stukov.

  • @duskcrawler: Yeah, I'd be surprised if the UED don't return in some form. But Stukov has no way of rejoining them until they arrive; I'd expect to find him operating in one of the non-dominion governments, maybe the Kel-Morian combine.

As I recall; the Protoss attacked the UED first because the UED occupied a planet which contained a crystal they wanted. It seems to me that if there is animosity between the two factions it's due to ham-fisted diplomacy on the Protoss' behalf.

  • @kuroshashu Believe me Stukov will return, even Chris Metzen flirted with that idea even though he says it was an asspull on his part. Metzen is a creative guy, he'll work something out. And I think you're right on both points. He's probably working with the Kel-Morian combine as well as trying to contact Earth. Also, I believe that should Stukov return he will most definitely get into conflicts with the Protoss, but begrudgingly be an antiheroic ally to the Raiders and Zeratul.

  • @duskcrawler: Well, now we're in the region of pure speculation. I guess we'll have to wait and see; painful as that will most assuredly be :<

  • @kuroshashu If anything is painful, its waiting to see what will happen next and that we have to hope that it will work. SC2 is popular, though not with SC1/BW fanboys who think that SC2 should have been more like BW, but otherwise, HotS will be released next year from what I've heard. LotV will be released the year after. I just hope both will be great, because I really would like to see Stukov, the UED Earth Fleet, Kaloth, Duran, and Ulrezaj return.

  • @duskcrawler But Ulrezaj is stuck in a crystal with a preserver, right?

  • @TheStarcraftUniverse Well, yes, but I think he serves the Dark Voice. Makes sense since itsbeen mentioned he serves some higher power and that he was making Hybrids. That sorta says he serves the Dark Voice. Also, if you have played Resurrection IV, the Cerebrate, Kaloth that infested Stukov, might serve the Dark Voice as well. His New Swarm was meant to combat Kerrigan, so that points to his servitude to the Dark Voice as well. Plus, he's still alive.

  • @duskcrawler

so its true that Stukov came back as infested

  • @duskcrawler HE, MUST, RETURN.

  • @sumerian88 I can see it happening, man and it may very well be. I doubt Blizzard will leave out what happened, but thing is, it might be difficult to make him come back, considering that anyone who has not played any of the games revolving around Stukov's return (Deception, Mercenaries II, and Resurrection IV) may get confused or just not see the point in why he came back. I'm all for it as long as Blizzard does their best to make it work.

  • There is so much bullshit propaganda in this one video that it's hilarious. XD

  • Anyone notice that he was born in 6/09/822 but died 4/23/822.

  • @raceme97 hahahaha

  • @Szgerle

The Arbites are a more fitting homage.

The Adeptus Astartes, however, are trickier. Yes. They are super soldiers in power armor and there are many varieties out there but they've set themselves apart and become iconic. They're essentially cybernetic, genetically enhanced, heavilly armed warrior monks.

As for who knows? Ask anyone who isn't sucking Blizzard's teet. Stand the source material next to the blizzard product and then list dates. Hilarity ensues.

  • Damn, Terran are so fuckin cool.

  • Actually, I think the UED are Integralists, or semi-fascist.

  • @GrievousCommander "Enlightened socialists", according to the background.

Which gave me the mental image of a French Revolution/October Revolution-style public execution for the Mengsk and his cronies. DuGalle in a three-corner hat and/or Stukov in a furry-hat would have made it a spectacle to behold.

  • @Girder2

Well, the eagle and thunderbolts on their flag give-off a hint of military-patriarchal nationalism.

  • Comment removed

  • Admiral Gerrard DuGalle was one of my top favorite characters.

I mean, the UED basically showed-up in the Sector and kicked everybody's ass.

You gotta give him credit for that.

  • looks like starship troopers lol

replace Zerg! with Bugs! and overmind with brain bug, and you get the picture

  • @Mahbu

    "known" By who?

You know that 40k was a parody setting right? Adeptus Arites being Judge Dredd clones, tyranids being Xenomorphs, Space Marines looking like eighties movie heroes in generic looking power armor.

    Look up Rogue Trader please.

  • everybody look at 1:17 it look like the death of dizz in starship troopers 1

  • Answering to IAsimov comment, it's true, only the Protoss in StarCraft are pure, but the Terran and the Zerg are evil in their own ways, Terran want control over the Sector ALWAYS, and the Zerg want all dead.

  • @tincho0501 Totally true, but then again in the protoss, the templars are racist against the dark templars.

  • reminds me of the Federal News Network from Starship Troopers

  • Lmao did you see the casualties number

  • ...Is it wrong that I actually wanted the UED to win the war in the sector?

Sure enough, the guys were essentially nazis, but they had so much style and professionalism in what they did. Not to mention they did what no one else could -- DEFEATING THE ZERG.

And when you realize the other factions are just as evil... (nuking a planet, feeding off a planet to the Zerg, among other crimes...)

  • That's why I like them. if ONLY Kerrigan hadn't had such saps for enemies (Mengsk, Raynor, Zeratul), they would have continued to be awesome....sadly enough...

  • wtf ZERATUL PWNS KERRIGAN!

  • This is UTTERLY true. But...he still fell for an INFESTED terran's "Oh, I'm CURED now!" scam...if it's zerg now AND WASN'T UNINFESTED, it still IS a zerg!!!! His only failing...

  • dude I bet kerrigan will be crying for mercy when zeratul slashes her apart!

  • @IAsimov Its not just you, I wanted the professionals to win. compared to a tyrannical emperor with a rag tag army and the zerg definately.

  • The UED are bastards, still, it's better than getting OM NOMED by the Zerg. Stukov was cool though, hopefully he's with Jimmy and crew.

  • It said that Alex(e)i Stukov was born on 06/09/322 GD and died on 04/23/322. lol, he died before he was born.

  • Tru, never noticed it before. I wonder if this was a mistake or does it mean something ?

  • Well, 322 is well-known as a mystical number used by Yale Skull & Bones.

Not that I really believe in such things, but it's pretty clear that many people in high places seem to.

Could be an attempt at sounding clever and esoteric on the part of the game makers.

    A pathetic attempt that is.

  • I think it's 06/09/322 GD and died on 04/23/822,but that makes it even more weird xD

  • That's the official date...I think it was a typo in the manual or something.

  • maybe that was when he was born on earth and when he was killed he was on different time zone

  • rip admiral stukov

  • This reminds of Starship Troopers. Actually, from my history class, it reminds of those Movies they showed during WW2 about the progress of US troops, too. But since it's a futuristic setting, more like Starship Troopers.

  • ST and SC is very different. ST doesnt have protoss or zerg does it?!

  • That's not what I meant. I mean the whole news report thing reminds me of the way ST made its new reports in the movie.

  • The Skinnies and Bugs basically ... just with the barcode filed off, as the saying goes.

  • Acctually in Star Ship Troopers Book there are two alien Spiecies Mentioned the "Bugs" and the "Skinnies" (snick) and Rico and company kick the shit out of them in the first chapter although Heinlien does mention that they later join with the humans in taking down the bugs.

As a side note the priciple Human Battle armor is called...The Marauder.

  • war in space news report theme is similiar then.

  • more like american news

  • Can someone tell me how the condescending Atheist's argument even remotely relates to the fact that Starcraft is awesome?

  • It was an agrument

  • @CommanderSalamander "welll... umm..... i..... there is.... when... we don't know" is there response XD

  • @CommanderSalamander

Atheist are very desperate to mix their retarded arguments with sc?

  • @ForceOfLight No just that one I think. I read his comment. He really could of just kept it SC: BW/SC2 WOL Related but he went on a tangent. I'm an atheist. I'm not desperate and I really never make religious arguments.

  • @TheOrentDevil

In other words, a very respectable person =)

  • @CommanderSalamander I found the comment. He wasnt arguing with anyone. He just randomly said it. Im an atheist and I dont go out saying this or that.

  • If you studied history instead of playing WoW you'd understood what an ignorant brainwashed kid you are.

  • Why is it then when people on Youtube get confrontation, they respond by calling the opposition a cock-sucking faggot?

Just a bit sad, all I'm saying...

  • No its funny and satisfying.

  • they respond that way because their typing it, now actually saying it to their face.

let me tell you, my patience is thin for privateworldofwarft's kind.

  • one thing I find annoying is that in starcraft, nothing in the cinematics looks the same as in does in-game

  • lol yea

  • dude the UED are beasts .

  • And the Zerg weren't?

  • Where can I get the music from 1:15 to 1:45 and 1: 46 to 2:12? btw this vid rocks :D

  • 1:15 - 1:45 : Buy "Echoes of War" (a collection of Blizzard games' music) ;)

CD 2, Track 1: "No matter the cost" - that fragment is there. :)

  • Thanx dude but I just ripped it off youtube, I never pay for music.

  • LOL THIS IS A STARSHIP TROOPER JOCK! hahhahhah!

  • lol reminds me of starship troopers

  • Notice the intentionally propagandized report of the death of Stukov? He was killed for no reason and not in battle, yet they said he sacrificed himself in the final hours of the battle.

  • You think this propaganda is only limited to star craft, this is every day life PAL.

    but nice observation.

  • Wait a minute we stop using this type of propaganda long time ago. You thinking of the 60's

  • yes "you" guys stoped using this type of blatand propaganda like 20-30 years ago, but it has evolved now....corporate news,TV shows,Talk shows etc

  • You make it sound like that we are brainwashed or something. Look we make fun of our progranada all the time. We know when we are being lied too. Government news would not be any better either. Most of the time our news is not lying to us. There into making money not lieing.

  • i make it sound like we are brainwashed because we are obviously.....yes i agree they are into making money.

but they lie to, dont be so naive as to think they dont do that......for ex, fox news was just a massive mouth piece for G.W. Bush.

"Corporate news" as its called nowadays, just blurrs the line between realaty and fiction, showing us a distorted image of some situation.

you would be more informed by not watching them.

  • Well like i said we know when we are being lied too. EVeryone knows that fox news is leaing to the far right and always makes a spin of everything. But saying for the most part the news is telling the truth.

  • mmmm....i think david icke said it best when he said......."we are listening to a bunch of repeaters"

    good luck anyway

  • Maybe so but we can't trust anyone is this world. So whats the point of freaking out about anymore.

  • yes i know. im not freaking out just funneling information

  • Kerrigan better die in SC2, I hate her and all zerg.

  • Well im not in a hospital and doctors say im sane so try to disprove them and my views do not lead to hatred and ignorence they don't lead to anything because its my personal views and nothing more

  • whats disturbing is your lack of tolarance for people who have views that arn't destructive on others, after all so many wars were fought over faith because of those people

at least my views won't lead to war

  • (clap clap clap) I applude you.

    here are my answers

I waste your time becasue I choose too and becasue it makes me laugh on how you get so pissed off, and my belifs are about as much fact as anyone religion so unless you got some proof for that you cannot judge me in that regard, and I do seek help but It don't work much so take your angry self to happy island and get high

  • There are parts of the Human race that are ugly but you have to accept it as a fact that they are part of the human race and you shouldn;t cast judgement on the ENTIRE human race just becasue parts of it fucked up in life and took it out on everything else, cause if you do that then you are no better than they are.

  • Actully What you say on the net really does mean what you think of in real life because you feel secure in the fact that no one can find you and/or know who you really are

IF you do not love the Human race in all of its forms regardless on wither its real or fiction then why don't you just kill yourself and rid yourself of your so-called human body and be reincarneted as a wolf or something.

  • Only thing that could unite mankind is a Commen enemy like aliens or Demons or whatever

  • Man, the UED is worse at making up propaganda than the confederacy.

  • has anyone else realized that this is almost a word for word rip/parody of an identical news report from the movie "starship troopers"?

  • the overmind will be under intensive study.... untill Kerrigan dicides to kill it

  • holy shit ive never seen such bullshit u can kiss my ass if u want 2 make me beleive all dis bullshit...still dis is VERY funny if u see it in a way

  • just bullshit propaganda! they all get kicked back home by kerrigan... ZERG! ZERG! ZERG!

  • Bring it on you Bugs! UED! UED! UED!

  • well discussion and all i think it would be great to have a system like the UED but for real. for one, or similar like the halo one the UNSC. (here are my reasons, if im wrong let me know but please no overreacting...) I think it would get rid of all the problem on who controls what part of the world, who is the biggest power, corruption (well a lot less than today) and well wouldnt need a lot of paper work and all to travel somewhere. hope i made sense...

  • Nonetheless, the UED kick ass. They are the only terran faction with an army of professional soldiers rather than criminals, have the best battle fleet, and are just better than the terran dominion. I would love to see the UED come back in Starcraft 2 with even more military power, and perhaps this time they will win.

I mean let's face it, Blizzard always make the humans lose in their games: the humans get exterminated in Warcraft 3 and the Terrans are getting their asses kicked by the zerg.

  • THey damn well better otherwise im gonig to stop buying thier games

  • "to the news reporter," You are so full of shit.

This report is so exaggerated. Stukov was killed by order of his commanding officer, the Overmind wasn't planning to invade Earth, and the UED doesn't have the best technology, the Protoss do!

  • That's propaganda....

And guess what, I guess millions of casualties for zerg is just nothing since it can replace its forces very quickly

  • I feel sorry for Earth.. The UED is an evil world power...

Although it's military is pretty cool.. I side with the Terrans, they are the real hope for mankind.

  • Agreed.

  • What I meant by weaken sector what that the UED still had to face multiple factions. Anyway I realized it's pointless to argue over a fictional game for several days so I'll just end by saying I'd rather take the impression sb who created this would like to leave to the fans over sb who simply who doesn't the UED.

  • You said yourself that it is fun to kill humans so why do you even care about being called a human hater? A weakened sector doesn't mean the sector the UED faced was weak, especially when it had to deal multiple factions. They did send the zerg but you forgot that in one mission Duran reported that to kerrigan that it was only hundreds of zergs, that's not the number that's expected to make the zerg a deadly weapon. Kel-Morian means nothing, there was no significant military contribution fromit

  • And the UED did bring some of its own technology, but just not reflective of what the UED is capable of, and certainly doesn't mean the UED is weak. They were able to send in a small fraction of its strength and still wrecked havoc in the sector. I'd rather take the words of the Chris Metzen than the words of some human hater.

  • not all Confederacy remnants joined the ued. The Dylarian shipyards defence forces joined the UED because they were awed by the UED's power and successful strike at the Dominion. And they didn't have it all. In the zerg campaign it is stated they have trouble controling the zerg. Occupying nearly all of the planets doesn't mean they have all the resources on these planets. It is obvious they lacked man power to mount effective defence. As to propaganda, guess what, all the terran regimes do it.

  • UED rocks. So does the "ZERG!"

  • You forgot that the UED only sent a small fraction what it was capable of as confirmed by Chris Metzen so the UED being exagerrated poser is just your opinion, probably just because you dont't like the UED.

And killing humans is fun, would you consider killing your self fun too?

  • Actually, that was the best UED forces, since it was led by the fomous admirals: Stukov and DuGalle. So, we saw what UED is capable of in Brood War. They aren't weak, but they also aren't hell powerful.

  • 00:13 ... ZERRRRRRRRG!! =)

  • People who say that the UED were bad take a look at this. The UED are the more technological of the Terran's and monitored the Protoss and Zerg to find weaknesses. They were able to bring Kerrigan to her knees (for a moment though). Broke through many Protoss defenses and other Terran factions to find two men. All with a very small fleet not even comparable to the UED's true strength.

  • Re: Zerg Casualties

But they're Zerg! They're supposed to die in huge numbers!

  • Shhhh, the civilians aren't supposed to know that!

  • Oh, yeah O.o

This cinematic is so great. One of my faves.

  • UED owns, who cares what atrocities they commit to the criminal terrans that were there originally.

  • This kinda reminds me of something from Starship Troopers...

  • Long live Mankind...

  • "Serve the Directorite, Serve humanity.."

    -Admiral Dugale.

  • Dugalle was a good guy. He had good intentions but his strategies did not work. He was unable to gain the support of the Confederate forces.

  • That's just your opinion, so you shouldn't tell any one to face your opinion as if it's fact. The Creative Director of Starcraft II Andy Chambers said the fleet the UED sent was indeed small. Sending the great tactical mind could probably serve to allow the UED fleet to overcome their lack of numbers.

  • Wait, Andy Chambers is the creative director for SCII? Will we discover that the UED is secretly run by the Emperor of Mankind? :)

  • Alex was infested and thus resurrected by a renegade cerebrate who doesn't work for any one, but was later reversed back to human by the protoss and Raynor. Hope he'll make a comeback in SC2.

  • Can't wait 'till SC II comes out. I'd like to think that it'll involve Daggoth(my favourite cerebrate), Duran, Zeratul and Raynor.

  • Daggoth is dead.

  • I heard that Chris Metzen ( the Starcraft lore guy i think?) stated that Stukov's resurrection, infestation, and purification are canon.

  • Do you think Alexei will revive?

  • One of the Starcraft maps mentioned that Alexi was invested by the zerg and commanded his own brood. Then he was "liberated" by the Protoss and Raynor.

  • Do you want to know more?

    Cool Vid thanks!

  • You got lucky. The first Overmind would have fried their asses, especially since most Cerebrates were on Char. The 2nd Overmind was abandoned by Daggoth and the Tiamat Brood during Char's invasion. Only a few sub-broods were left on Char. Daggoth and his brood is still at large.

  • No he's not. He's dead. Chris Metzen said so.

  • Oh. Well...at least there's still Duran, Zeratul and Raynor.

Wait- why am I feeling sad for a dead Zerg?!

  • ZERG!

  • Propagands! They dirty the name of Alexei Stukhov

  • as TerroristPotato said the brood war was only the tip of the spear of what the UED really is.. i mean they are the supreme terran leaders, they are the colonists leaders they are the United Earth Directorate; i think in SC2 they'll return with tremendous forces

  • probably not

  • Dominion=13 planets/systems

    UED=HUNDREDS

  • Proof please. Confederacy/Dominion has 13 main systems and some influence in other space. Kel-Morian Combine and Umojan Protectorate also have their own planets. UED seems to have more colonies than Koprulu factions, but not so many.

  • You say that they hve "tremendous forces". So, you think that UED HQ are idiots. To sent "tip of the spear" force to deal with the major threat to the Earth, Zerg, and "restore order" in Kopruliu Sector? Yes, the force sent ot Koprulu was not so numerous, but it wasn't weak.

  • UED sent only one fleet to battle the Zerg. They have several other fleets back at earth. UED will deploy more to fight the Zerg in Starcraft 2 and most likely it's going to be a lot more than they deployed in Brood War.

  • for god sakes... the UED is only good at propaganda, they have no backbones and such. weaklings like them shouldn't be allowed to show their faces. hope that the UED force would be wiped out this time, so arrogant about their advanced tech yet look at them wiped out by zergs they dese
