Oh I love these cars one of my favorite parts about these cars is the rear window its too bad studebaker went under in 1968 because they were not selling enough cars.
@mrdestoryit There were several cars that had a 3-piece rear window but it just looks so good with this bullet nose. Yes, Studebaker went under along with so many other great car names. I miss them all. Thanks so much for enjoying this Stude.
when i lived in pa there was a restaraunt called studebakers, they had a car show everyyear i remem, ber being a lil kid and my dad saying that studebakers were ahead of their time of course being a kid i just wanted to see some obnoxious car with flames, but now man arent these cars stunning
@200pramsey After all these years, this model year of Studebaker looks pretty cool. I remember a grade school teacher had one of these in pale yellow with fender bashes everywhere. Us kids would constantly making fun of it. But this one here is a work of art. And perhaps they were ahead of their time. I appreciate your comment and thanks for viewing this Starlight Coupe.
That so called "Studebaker Motor Company" has absolutely nothing to do with the Studebaker Corporation of South Bend that built this bullet nose (along with Hawks, Avantis, Commanders, Presidents, Champ trucks, Transtar trucks... and ammo wagons for the Union Army in the War of Northern Aggression.
@JeffDeWitt Good point................I guess. I don't think I mentioned anything about the Studebaker Motor Co., so I guess you were just making an informative comment. And I take it you're from the south by calling the American Civil War the War of Northern Aggression?
@canthill3 Its easy to fall in love with these Starlight coupes. Looks of this is so cool. Thanks for enjoying and hope you get one of these bad boys.
@giuguar Sim, os meus agradecimentos por desfrutar desta Studebaker. Este é um belo carro e até mesmo depois de todos estes anos, tem um grande projecto.
I realize that I made a slight error in the contact email address for ( "Studebaker motor company" "dot" com ) What i did inadvertantly was add the word "car" which shouldn't be there. Sorry folks. Try it again you'll be pleasantly surprised.
To contact the "studebaker motor car company" spell it all as one long word and add "dot" com to it. Youtube blocks me from writing it out for you on this blog but if you contact the CEO Ric W. Reed in the contact section you'll get positive feedback like I did. They're looking for ideas for the car they're planning to produce once again.
a lot of you who like studebaker should go on their website like I did and let them hear from you. They want to know what you want out of a new car, they're planning a comeback soon on the American market. They gave me a positive feedback.
@onebaud Isn't that the truth? Can you imagine what a modern car would look like if they incorporated some of these classy Studebaker lines? This car turned a lot of heads when they were brand new. I have another video of a 50 Studebaker that I will post sometime. Thanks so much for enjoying this bullet nose.
In Argentina was assembled the pick up Champ on sixties. It has many collectors and fans. The other succesfull car in Argentina was Rambler American, made here like Torino, but many changes front, rear, dashboard (european style) and engine. Ford Falcon from 1961 to 1982 the same primitive model whith modifications "as the time goes by".........
@charlesnorte I thought there were many American makes down there in Argentina but had no idea that there were Rambles, Torinos, and Falcons beside Studebakers. Thanks so much for telling me these details. I'm glad that there are other countries that appreciate American Iron.
@55lincoln There were anothers like Chevy Nova/400,Valiants(your Dodge Lancer), Ramblers Ambassador and classic, Kaiser Carabela (Manhattan) jeeps, Estanciera (your Station Wagon) and now GM sells Opels, Ford all the new lines of vans, pick ups, Focus, Fiesta, trucks and europeans factories: Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat and japanese models.
@charlesnorte Man, thats a mouth full! All of those makes were imported and I would like to see all those older imports today if their still around. I really appreciate your comments and contribution to this video. Thanks again.
It remember me a Tucker design. When I was a child never know the front o the rear of this car. There are not many Studebakers in our Country (Argentina), only a few, but in Chile there is is a great special collector.
@charlesnorte A lot of people claim that they couldn't tell if this Studebaker was coming or going. I guess thats what makes it so unique. And, it does resemble a Tucker automobile. I know that Studebaker exported a lot of cars to South America and Chile was a country that recieved a lot of American cars. It's great to hear from a viewer from Argentina. Thanks very much for viewing this Studebaker and commenting.
@ChaseSpeer Well, when things look so revolutionary and " strange ", people might dislike it as being out of the ordinary. And out of the ordinary these Studes were. Now, these days, one can appreciate the unique look of this car if they are open minded. This is really quite an example of car design. Thanks so much for commenting.
@DougCameraMan I think this unusual design is appreciated more these days. I mean look at this car..........it's classy, retro, -----you name it. Bullet nose, curved rear window, great interior design. Thanks for commenting.
@brandonsexywhitaker Isn't though? Pretty spectacular design in it's day. They were the first in automotive technology to create curved glass. ( Nash was first in curved glass with no distortions ). Both independent car makers.
i have always wanted one of these - people call me nuts but i dotn care lol i think this model is to cool - i did own a study but it was a 63 lark daytona
@martinhiebert This is a unique car design. No other car manufacturer styled anything like this. No bullet nose, no pontoon fenders, no curved rear glass. And these studes really sold percentage wise for an independent maker. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
@Indogyearsimdead Thank you! It does look great. Absolutely advance design. I had a grade school teacher that drove one of these and it was an old car then. I was always fasinated with his pale yellow Starlight Coupe.
now that were pally will you leave me this in your will....i will pay shipping costs to scotland .lol

Auto makers are so stupid today. All they have to do is visit the past to design a car of the future.
