  • WTF people? I loved them in all stages. But how silly i feeling now listening the frog stamp? I'm not suprised changed thru those years. when they started they was a teenagers!they they are adults now, they no longer going to sing about bad drugs abuse, or unhappy teens ?! get over it people and start to be open minded. all rock and grunge is about freedom isn't it? about breaking the barriers! and now all rocks show how close minded they are:)

  • @dissociatives its not about the lyrics its how they sound, ok so i agree about the teens drugs abuse part but before they sounded like they wanted, they played the kind of music they liked, ok so maybe they do it now but this sounds so fake and unatural. I dont like seeing daniel singing like a girl either he has a great voice...well he used to at least. Its all about be yourself play what u want to play not playing to make money. But im guessing this is the music industry nowadays.

  • very different from the silverchair i grew up with. I miss them :(

  • This is an AMAZING song!!!!!! Turn it up in the car and tap that steering wheel ;-)

  • meh...

  • Young Modern Station is posibly the best album of the last decade.

They're grown men. Why would they want to write stuff like their old music.

If you're a musician, you know that the music on this album is a massive improvement, not just for the band, but rock music in general.

  • @adamsean85 Young Modern * :P

  • Young Modern sucks!!!!

  • They sound so much better Live than in the Cd. Silverchair , one of the greates bands of the present

  • Outstanding! They keep getting better! Im glad they never made another Frogstomp! What an innovative song this is!

  • omg you are blue

  • gilles.. we need to have a chat about those shorts.

and how come so many people who just 'hate' YM like to sit around and listen to it so much? if you like old silverchair, there's plenty of videos of old silverchair.

but i think the truth is you fuckin like it.

  • bom d+, sempre!

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone that can call Young Modern Station pop has no concept of Rock and Roll AT ALL.

  • fuck this sounds like coldplay, gay music

  • i really like this song.

in fact, i'm enjoyng the entire album, they "evoluided"; but Neom Ballroom is their best album, far far away from all of the others

  • Neon Ballroom is very good because it's when they really came into their own style, but Diorama is their masterpiece, by far.

  • Everyone says that...neon ballroom all the way for me tho..Diorama is superb tho ; )

  • They became too emo after Natalie Imbruglia messed with Daniel... so sad.

Natalie Imbruglia is their Yoko Ono

  • I disagree. Daniel started dating Natalie after Silverchair recorded Neon Ballroom in 1999. If anything, I think it's Paul Mac that has a strong influence over Daniel's music. Some people say it's a bad thing *shrugs*

  • His lyrics are still awesome. Unique (weird and not understandable to some) and original. From Frogstomp to Young Modern. So, for me, they never changed, just grew up.

  • Yes, but in a bad way -_-'

  • I hate to say this but now they are beginning to remind me of Coldplay by their looks and sound.

  • let me read this as a huge compliment for Coldplay :)

  • it shuold be cause i don't like coldplay but i like silverchair. though i don't mind the new coldplay stuff that much just i really couldn't stand their first album (well the one with yellow and that) anywho i love this song even if it may sound like coldplay lol

  • Damn the lead singer looks like a completely different guy.

  • its a great POP album, you have to accept that it is a departure from what they have done in the past, its how they evolve as a band, if they didnt they would be accused of being boring

yeah, i preferred diorama and neon ballroom, but i can still appreciate this album

  • I personally would call the entire album pop, but to each their own.

  • Yeah I used to think that this song was bad too, but now for me, it's just fuckin awesome!

  • Kochałam ich muzykę w ogólniaku i teraz po 10 latach też ją kocham...zmienia się razem ze mną i to jest niesamowite:*

  • I feel they just sold out like alot of bands do I think they suck now

  • if they had sold out themselves, they would be playing emo songs now, like Simple Plan, My Chemical Romance, Good Charlott, you know, all that shit!

they are just showing people, that they can do, whatever they fuckin' want, any kinds of music, they're just some fuckin' GENIUS!

  • i have nothing to add. I just totally fucking agree with your statement.

  • oh yes, its an embaracment, no doubt

  • in comparison with

    "no more maybes,

    your baby's got rabies"

  • could it be that, i dunno, they just stopped caring about catering to audiences and just went out and recorded whatever the fuck they wanted?

I for one think this album is a great departure from what they're used to doing.

Evolution is the way to go.

  • you know what, I do respect bands that make major changes in their sound and style. Im for it, and there are too many few bands that do it properly these days. Silverchair just sound like they are in that category now.

And it's funny because they are terribly talented.

And I actually think they stoped caring about "catering" to audience 2 albums back...

It sounds exactly the opposite from evolusion to me - Devolusion.

They could have made a much more interesting change in my opinion

  • And you know what... Just the fact that their new material is so terribly pop now and it isnt touching any charts tells you something...

It just plain, and bad pop material...

I really hope for an... evolusion from them in the future, as you say

  • to each his own...

  • Yup, in the bottom line:)

  • I really wonder why the shift in this direction myself. If it was an evolution from the norm, I would just be happy that they are doing what they want, except it is so much like tons of other music. Diorama was a huge evolutionary shift from freak show and I feel that they completely outdid themselves to date with that album. I really like bands that evolve because it shows they are being true to themselves, but this music makes me wonder how true they are being just because of the poppiness.

  • @dahfshx

    those bands are not emo.

Sunny Day Real Estate and Get Up Kids are Emo.

  • too bad natalie imbruglia broke up with him

  • Daniel Johns rips! He's divorcing Natalie Imbruglia because she's jealous of his current world tour. Hopefully the divorce will stoke more creativity and thus produce an even better album than "Young Modern", though that would be difficult considering the album pretty much rules!

  • Did Natalie want the divorce?? I read it was mutual?

  • does anybody know where silverchair is going after BDO?

  • to my house (I wish!)

sorry I know that doesn't answer ur question...

  • i think they might be doing a world tour

  • does somebody have the setlist of this show?

  • 1. The Man That Knew Too Much 2. Emotion Sickness 3. Young Modern Station 4. Reflections of a Sound 5. Greatest View 6. All Across the World 7. Tuna In the Brine 8. Luv Your Life 9. Waiting All Day 10. Straight Lines 11. The Door 12. Ana's Song(Open Fire) 13. Mind Reader 14. Freak 15. If You Keep Losing Sleep
  • man, thank you very much. I REALLY NEEDED IT.

    THANKS AGAIN!

  • cool, no prob.

  • Walking in the stright line.. , right on !

  • silver chair IT'S BETTER NOW¡¡ su music es muy very partycular . it's a something new ,nada que ver con el GRUNGE que se ve que hace años que no le da para mMAS

  • I'm sure Daniel realized he would lose a few old school fans with this album. But a good artist expresses themSELVES, not what they think other people want to hear. And this is Daniel. I love him so much for that. Good riddance you closed minded fools :)

  • amen

  • The clocks are tickin timeless

    Dead Dali days behind us

    The band is back together.

    HELL YEAH!!!

  • great song

  • 100 times better???????????????????????????

its closer to -100 times better the music they made in the mid 90s was way more complex and it was more individual when u heard it u said wow another great song from silverchair. now u hear them and say who is that clone pop band that sounds like everyone else in the music biz today??? oh its silverchair?!?! what the hell happened?

  • thats so wrong, their music is not pop clone, they are very original and different in this album

  • back then they were ridiculed as a nirvana clone now they're a coldplay clone and you know what id take the nirvana clone anyday that those fucking limey faggot commie daniels even started putting that equal sign on his arms that coldplay faggot started that shit with his fair trade bullcrap

  • i think youre right chequevarra, they should stay true to the old sound

  • we'll the comment on top is the cont.. of my comment anyways you cant sing grunge forever but i know he can do better he made a kick ass record before his 1st pube you what i mean

  • and dont get me wrong i love silverchair and i know he can't sing grunge forever esp that everythings going great in his life that would turn him into a poser but i know he's way better than this shit if he can make kick ass music before his first pub im sure there's still a lot of creativity left in him atleast a good old like 90s alternative would be perfect for them

  • They are so talented!great song

  • i dunno i like this song but tommorow was the better song ive heard from them.

  • CAROLINEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • the bridge on this version is amazing!

  • Awesome!! Best album yet:))

  • I really liked Diorama, but the new album just kicks ass! There are more solid songs on Young Modern than any of their older records. If you haven't bought it yet, well, you're missing out...

  • im glad they are back

  • This is just GREAT!

I hear some Daniel Johns Lennon...

  • well their new stuff aint bad but its not nearly as good as diorama or neon ballroom. I think with young modern, daniel just felt free to write something more fun and less complex. His past recordings were so deep and heartfelt that I think he spilled all his musical guts into those two records. According to those emotions he use to have, he'll never be able to top those records. But on the bright side, at least he found peace with his music.

  • took the words out of my mouth ;)

  • very well put

  • I agree wholeheartedly with dumeyda down there.

    YES.

  • Agree..

    They develop.. we develop..with them!

  • there's many fans who are kind of dissapointed with this new silverchair, but i just dont get it...this is like 1000 times better music than what they used to play 10 years ago..wow is allucinating and elegant at the same time.this particular song is just c'mon..just impressive. Really they're probably one of the best band in the world today.

  • totally agree ;)

  • my favorite album is frogstomp, i like the new album but it is missing something.

  • I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN~~~!

  • you said probably? they ARE the best band in the world today they're awsum!!!

  • Love this song.

  • astonishing.

  • More heavy then the album version.. absolutely kickin'ass

  • ...Wow.
