The late Walter Bailes,of the Country Group,The Bailes Brothers, wrote this song. He also wrote "Dust On The Bible",that Kitty Wells, made into a Super Hit.
One thing that has always drawn me to old country, mountain, folk, bluegrass, blues music - songs like this that truly reflect the cold hard facts of life, the good, bad and ugly, happy and sometimes sad. Songs of this nature cause me to "ponder" life a bit and also make me stop and count my many blessings. Mike
I think I have every thing kitty has recorded with the exception of a single she did for Southern Tracks records. Title is "You Don't Have to Hire a Wino". If anyone has this, please post it. Thanks, Glenn
Oh dear, this songs reminds me of those times, when good friends of mine lost her little son at the age of 2. He have had heart problems. Sad times...and my friends never had a child again.
Oh my gosh........I am blowing and honking my nose and my little dog, Lucrecia, is running the other way..........she is skeered to death of me.~~~~~She thinks she has "sinned" and is in trouble.......This is a SAD SONG....Thank ya very much, Mike, for sending it to me. And........thank ya very much Lily for posting it. .... Joan
Another excellent choice Lilly, even if it is a tear-jerker. I dearly love Kitty and Johnny, not only as performers, but as two wonderful human beings. They are both such humble, down-to-earth people. I have had the honor and pleasure of visiting with both of them at their personal appearances over the years. They always took the time to greet and talk with their fans who came to see and hear them. Thanks for helping to keep their music out here Lilly! Mike
